    For everyone concerned about sight lines trees and shade, there are over 1,500 trees in the park. It is nearly impossible to transplant adult trees in areas that get all four seasons and have them survive, so the trees are all young. Just give them a few years, it’ll really come together.

    Similar to complaints about tree removals at existing parks. They plant young trees because its not realistic to transplant a bunch of adult ones. I just hope this park lasts long enough for people to see the grown trees.

    @@ValleyThrills Yeah exactly. The 2 things they need in the coaster lineup are a midsized to big family coaster, and a large scale roller coaster that doesnt go upside down. Something like a Gerstlauer family coaster or a family woodie from Gravity Group or RMC could work really well, alternatively a Gerstlauer Bobsled, but if they wanna import more second hand rides from Sweden, there's a Schwarzkopf Jet Star 2 for sale for under 500.000 dollars. As for a larger scale non inverting coaster, either a wooden coaster or a Megalite style coaster, be it Intamin, Mack, or a Chance Hyper GTX could all work really well.

After making my pilgrimage 2 weeks ago, all I can say is this park has amazing potential and deserves all the love and attention they can get. Just with the few attractions they have, theres already Disney/Universal level theming and storytelling on some of the rides (even the DROP RIDE), and the companion app gives you alot to do as your wandering around to make the experience even fuller....

    As for Matugani I'd definitely say its the same credit. Its the same roller coaster but just taken apart and put together somewhere else, not a clone or anything. If we were to count Matugani and Kanonen as 2 different coasters despite literally being the exact same pieces of tracks, supports, and trains just transported from Sweden to Iowa, then you'd have to count Travelling coasters like Olympia looping, Alpina Bahn, and Vilde Maus XXL again and again for every single time they're transported from one fair to another.

    I was there July 28th, the hottest day of the year so far. I was shocked to see how few guests were there! There were 17 cars in the lot at 6pm and they were to close at 930pm that night. There were maybe 25 cars at 2pm. We had 4 in our party and we rode every ride without any other people. We never waited in a line. It was like we rented the park for a day! They really need to start an advertising campaign. It's a beautiful park with so many fun and extreme rides.

  • @drdewott9154
    @drdewott915411 ай бұрын

    Wow, what a great little park. Almost looks more like a European regional park. I really do hope they can get the means to not just stay afloat but expand! Like the 2 things they need in the coaster department right now if you ask me, are a family coaster as a stepping stone between the wacky worm and Matugani, and then a big non-inverting coaster. As for the family coaster I see a lot of possibilities, they have a lot to choose from. For example, a Gravity Group family woodie, maybe a Gerstlauer family coaster like Yipee, a Gerstlauer Bobsled would work really well too. But what I probably find most likely is a family boomerang of some sort! They can be really affordable, and provide a unique forwards and backwards sensation! As for the big non inverting thrill ride, I have 2 ideas. One is a wooden coaster around 80-100ft tall. The other though which would be REALLY cool to see, would be a Megalite style coaster! Like something like Piraten, Alpina Blitz, or Lightning Run! This park is one where a Megalite or Megalite style coaster would just be a match made in heaven! But yeah they could really use some more vegetation and I know they're new but even just around their border it would probably be a good idea to have a berm with trees on it. Also looking at the greater complex, they have a water park and campgrounds too, but I'm honestly shocked at how they're all so far apart and not integrated into one another. Like as the crow flies its over a mile from the park entrance, to the entrance of the campgrounds, and theres no pedestrian or cycling paths or shuttles or anything by the looks of it. Plus the entrance is facing away from everything else. It just seems odd and bad for the user experience ngl. Especially compared to even tiny regional parks in Denmark where I'm from that can't even afford a Eurofighter, yet where they still plan everything to be close together and integrated. Like Lost Island is small but they can probably do loads to develop this into a great place, but they just need to make it easier to go between all their facilities. Like make some paths for pedestrians and maybe have some bike rentals you can use to go from Theme park, to water park, to campgrounds and back, and maybe a tiny little resort town somewhere in the middle with a restaurant or 2 and some other activities. Probably where the parking lot for the Waterpark and adventure golf is now would be a good place.

    I've been on 3 SLC's and the one at Lost Island really doesn't deserve that much hate. It does have a bit of a rattle to it, but the restraints make it so much better. Of the 3 I have been on this one overall is the best, plus it has the extra helix which is uncommon. Going a bit far to comment about getting a concussion when with these restraints it is so much better and eliminates the headbanging I experienced on the other 2 I rode. It is a bit jerky through the first element, but for a rebuilt relocated SLC it's really not as bad as you guys are making it seem. It's really a shame this theme park isn't getting more love. Trees also don't grow overnight. This was a cornfield and it has only been in existence for not even 2 years, not much they can do to make the trees grow faster. Also why no coverage of their flume ride which is also very good?

    Park looks very nice. Definitely give a Europe theme park vibe. But with maybe some advertising nearby and minor changes, it can succeed. But definitely once it get rolling, hopefully see something like RMC T Rex, family coaster, GCI Wooden coaster to give it a signature coaster or 2, as well as small improvement. Hopefully we give it the time so it can succeed and push Adventureland and Valleyfair to improve. More completion means better for the consumers.

    I missed you guys by a couple days, went here in Mid July as well for the first time. As an Iowan, it's nice to see another park in the state. I echo your thoughts; theming is amazing, rides are fun overall, (SLC sucks, Matugani is a fun little coaster). Just a good overall time. Check out the water park next time!

    Nice report on this park. I hope your video helps put it on the map. ACE will be back there next year to show its support. It was great running into you again: first France, then Iowa. The third time will be the charm. I wonder where it will be. 🙂

  • @thecoastergnome8603

    @thecoastergnome8603

    nope because thats an experience based definition, its the same machine, the point of credits is, how many different coasters have I been on and this is the same coaster. if you define credits by experience then every time you re-ride a coaster its a new credit because no 2 rides on a coaster will ever be the exact same experience.

    "If ive ridden Matugani then you can't say I've ridden Kanonen" Of course you can, why not? Also, If the definition of a new credit is a coaster that you have not been on before, and Matugani is the same coaster, then I don't see how its more than 1 credit. It might be because he disagrees with it being a new coaster because it was relocated.
