Honestly I'm a lot more interested in this park after watching this than I thought I'd be. Totally agree about the theming on the boat ride, but it still looks like a pretty cool ride, I don't think I've seen one quite like that. Love the air conditioned queue for the tower ride, I wish more parks did that. Shame that the Intamin coaster wasn't open yet. I'm sad to hear they're already struggling, but I hope the word gets out and people start supporting it.

The Lost Island Themepark was amazing! 🎢 We took our family a week ago and it had something for everybody. Love the rides and theming so much better than Six Flags or the other parks in KC or Des Moines. And the food was amazing! We ate at the Whalebone Grill and the entrees and sides were so unique and so good. You can tell they know what they're doing since they run one of the best waterparks in the US about a mile away. I agree with one of the other commenters about the lack of shade. It would be so great if they had some shade sails around, but it could also mess up the sight-lines that they've created. BTW - when you look at the park through a wide-angle lens, it's totally different than what your eyes see. It's a stunning park and a great price. Just get your tickets online instead of paying at the gate. 🥹

I hope they succeed. It looks like a fun couple of days when paired with the water park. And looking at the history of the water park I suspect they will continue to build and expand the theme park as well. If I can get there, I'd love to visit.

I got to say they really did a great job with this theme park. The overall landscaping looks beautiful the environment looks nice and clean. And the lands being its own theme is very creative. I really really hope this theme park catches a lot of tourists and guests in the future including enthusiasts if they ever decide to add new rides to its lineup. Because I see a bright future for this park if they keep it up.

This park seems unfinished. It sounds like a cool idea, but the park needs a lot more before it will get people in the gate. From a design aspect they really went all out and that’s super cool! I’m just hoping those grass hut roofs withstand harsh Iowa winters. I really hope this park makes it! I’m concerned for them though.

It's a great state (well, my opinion-not everyone thinks that) but it's definitely not the most exciting exciting state haha. We do have a lot of green. Spring and summer here can be very pretty. Actually there's a place in Cedar Rapids which is about an hour from Lost Island called Mount trashmore. It's a man-made hill build over a former landfill with 6 million tons of garbage underneath. It has multiple trails but the longest is a 3 mile trails (for both walking and biking) that overlooks the city. It makes me laugh but its pretty cool haha. 🤣

I want to see this park succeed it’s super cute. BUT, There is no shade in the park… as a parent watching kids at a park or in the rides you are standing in the sun the entire time. Plus they could have bought mature plants… I just see most of these plants and trees dying during that first Iowa winter. They they will have to spend more money to replace them. Also no benches are very many places to sit.I agree, the park should be selling season passes/ park hopper from the start that’s how you get a following.

I used to drive by the park while being built before I moved a month ago. The SLC is an eye catcher from the road but thats about it. You would think they'd do a little more research before buying one of those. Also, the whole parks looks pretty bland. I know eventually trees and plants will grow in but they could have easily plated mature trees and greenery around the park to liven it up. It will probably look nice in a few years, if it makes it that long.

@@CoasterRanger Incorrect, this is no where near Disney or Universal. Lost Island is on the same scope as OWA, which is $27 for a day pass...and OWA is in a far more desirable tourist location. Also, all Six Flags parks are only $35 for a day pass. All Cedar Fair parks (including Cedar Point, Carowinds, and Kings Island) are $50 for a day pass, which is still less. Lost Island is the same price as Holiday World, which includes Splashin' Safari...but Lost Island isn't offering their water park. Lost Island needs to figure out how to bake in the theme park to the water park ticket sales, so the water park can subsidize the theme park. It also doesn't help they decided to build the two gates a half mile away from each other, so it's not walking distance between the two.

I think the park would have greatly benefited from trees and bushes in between the different paths to hide other parts of the park to give an illusion of more space. I shouldn't look in one direction and see the park end. Theme parks are meant to immerse you but it's hard to get immersed when your standing in a land and turn your head 10 degrees to your left and see the entire rest of the park. But that's my thoughts. Empty space is where they've planted over 30,000 trees/plants/flowers as well as space in each realm to put a new ride in in the future. They are literally waiting on ONE part to open the green coaster and the carousel hasn't been delivered yet. There was a fire in the control panel where the log flume ride is; it's opening next year. Otherwise, everything is open and running!

They overpriced for a unfinished small park. There's other small parks that offer alot more, that are in the $35-$40 range, They charge $49 which some parks charge that and have a Waterpark included. No wonder they only get 100-200 customers a day.

I think this is one of the saddest theme parks I have ever seen…I live in Iowa, and I think Adventureland has this place beat. I’ve never heard of this place before but $52 seems waaay too overpriced.

Adventureland is a joke now that it’s under new ownership - there weren’t squat for rides when we went thus making the lines way too long.

Hard Rock Park was a decent park, just opened at a terrible time with zero marketing budget. If it opened a decade later it would've been a massive success,. especially given how Myrtle Beach's tourism has exploded the last 15 years.
