Visiting Boddika´s Studio in London | Thomann

Музыка

Al Green aka. Boddika and also one half of Instra:mental has been in this room for nearly 20 years. Green has been an influential producer and DJ throughout the UK dance/club scene for many years. From his work alongside childhood friend Damon as Instra:mental, his solo work and close affiliation with Swamp81, to a string of collaborations with Joy Orbison. These days he still occasionally writes and releases dance music but also works on sound design and music for other projects. He also offers tuition/recording/mixing services from his studio. Every piece of music he has been involved with has been recorded in this room. Today he is giving us a quick tour of his studio (The Zoo) in its most recent form.

Ha, is that an Amek Broadcast mixer? edit: oh no, it's the Studer... even nicer? I had one an BC12 for a decade that was ex-BBC OB van. Couldn't afford the Studers that were around, even though they were kind cheap then, compared to what they sell for now. Sold it to move country, but I do miss that tank. It actually blew up the glass table top of an Ikea table with the weight and heat. Lucky I wasn't in the room, glass exploded everywhere. Saw Suzanne Ciani do a quadraphonic performance last year in Valencia on her Serge / Buchla. Those synthesizers do does sound other worldly. Only thing is, it spooked my daughter a bit. And also seemed to summon the mosquitos in to attack. Very much with you on the vintage synths, modular and modern synths are more exciting. For the vintage style, there's also things like the Moog Voyager and Matriarch which kind of scratch all the itches.

This was really interesting. I would have liked to know what kind of converters he uses, Im a fan of Boddika's music, Really tight sound! How does he integrate all the gear into his converters?

Nice. Love the dungeon. Give me more of this, not sugar daddy "artists" who are more concerned about their clothes than the actual music.
