not many know this.. Aditya Modi acted as a child artist in Nayagan movie as Kamalhasan's grandson.. my dream of becoming a sound engineer just flew out of the window due to financial constraints because in Chennai there was only SAE institute back in 2001 which was charging Rs.1.5 lakhs for a sound engineering course.. I didnt want to burden my Dad, so I met the legendry Mr. H Sridhar in 2001 and unfortunately he said he doesnt have an open spot in his team.. so as an Indian middle class guy i had to bury my dreams and went on to complete MBA, work for different corporates and settled in the US. After family and kids i consoled myself that there is a reason for everything.. so i always envy these guys Adithya Modi, Suresh Permal and Karthik 🙂❤ cheers to you guys, you are at least doing what you love in life.. ARR Sir you are a great inspiration to all of us.. Especially i admire you so much for The Sunshine Orchestra.. ❤

Finally we get to hear the audio engineer Rahman and he is suddenly so articulate and no more bashful!! Awesome studio!

I was authorized to handle Mr. Rahman at Sufi Routes, Delhi a few years back. From picking him up from the airport to his stay & travel, I spent a few hours of my life with him. The aura that the man has is infectious. Got to see him perform live from the stage itself. His musicians are also phenomenal.

I had a chance to visit Firdaus studio in December 23, very different feeling to be in AR Rahman's studios.

Ar Rahman songs literally teleports the listener to a new dimension.especially the songs frm Roja,Bombay, thiruda thiruda, rangeela, dilse nd lot more..he ruled the 90s music scenario nd reinvented indian music to a new era

A R Rahman has always embraced technology. Steps ahead in his vision of the possibilities. Audio tech industry can have so many new ideas come to life with the collaboration between artists, engineers and developers.

Ar Rahman Sir is a genius and a great fighter. He is a self-made person. He reached this position by himself only. He is an inspiration for everybody. I am proud of him because he is from South India.

I always wondered how he was able to produce such world class sound sitting in india where his peers were clueless about most of the technical stuff! If you compare the songs produced by him during 90’s with western hits, he was at per or even better in cases! Such an advanced mind! Got to know a lot about the secrets! 😇

In 90s he was having only his homestudio built converting his carrage

ARR -- the one man who radically changed how Indian music was produced and sounded with the album Roja... the effect of his works still echoes to this day, basically, everyone just followed him since then.

Great to hear stories from the past. Amazing to think ARR sir had to manually enter all the CC parameters for every note. And the size of those equipments! Would have been so painstaking. Only when you hear these accounts , one can truly appreciate how far technology has come today :) would be a dream come true to visit this studio someday.

AR and Adi you are at the limit of technology and music creation!!!! Grand, gorgeous and greatly innovative. No words .... Stay blessed always.

That's true. He is a musical and brand enterpreneur to put it blunty. In kamini matha's book, Subhash Ghai told even in late 90's AR was a good business men. We are very fortunate to have him

Whenever we meet Mr. Shiraz Uppal, he speaks highly of Mr. AR Rahaman especially about how he helped him in his journey.

I loved what ARR said in one of the interviews, I'm paraphrasing here, that whatever he wants to do, he wants to do it the best. For example, he told Maniratnam that he wanted to work with best lyricists.

Please use a Lav Mic for such interviews SOS...making a niche studio sound and you do sound with direct wireless Mic seems...low-fi not a pro level recording...actually Boom shud have been used or least Lav Mic plugged in... and the constant Shirt rub against the concealed ARR Sir's Mic is to be noted...too...I would not have minded all these if the name is not A R Rahman...huge love and respect for him❤

Legendry. Composing by trial and error method along with generous collaboration. There are composers who write notes on paper and magic happens when musicians just play it. No trial. No error. Just pure magic.

Great work..also try to know what is true high fidelity sound recording and reproduction.... which is actually feels natural to human ears..if properly done with authentic vintage equipments. India is still need to develop toward this topic.... Controlling vision/video is might simpler but controling audio/sound is only possible throughout experience and true understanding....

I think the edit on this could have been better. Imo there could have been more b roll while they were talking. They would be talking about something and I would expect to see more of the camera switch to what they were talking about but it felt static at times.

Great Proportions. Apart from theatre Experiences, Hiqh Quality Indian music especially Tamil is not available. If Mr Rahman could create Magic with AI he can offer us Remastered old Music of Giants like MSV, KVM others & Ilayaraja & his music too it would great. We long for high quality audio (irrespective of good listening equipments)
