Despite it’s removal nowadays from any product, the presence of lead isn’t inherently dangerous, it only becomes hazardous if you eat it. I am squealing and dying with happiness that the range actually works. 😍 The mini food is so cute. 😂 When I saw the long power cord, my maternal self started screaming, "Why would you market a working range to children!" (I understand it was back in the 1920s-1960s (at least that's what the style reminds me of 😍) and health and safety was completely different and companies assumed children would be supervised, but still. A kid could've gotten mischievous when nanny or mom wasn't looking, wanted to cook something and got burned. Still, a great restoration! 👏👏👏 Great choice on the paint job. I love how detailed you are working on each and every part (in every project you do), wanting to save as many original pieces as you can. I love the ASMR quality to your music-less videos. Keep up the amazing work! I went to University for History and love that you're restoring vintage pieces! Like everyone else says, "Let the art [of restoration] speak for itself." ❤️

  • @latsnojokelee6434

For those of you who think the easy bake oven's weren't dangerous, there was a gigantic lightbulb in there and that would burn you if you accidentally touched it. So you learned very quickly, don't touch the large lightbulb. And then there were plastic balls with weird glowing green gunk in them. And enormous lawn darts with actual metal 6 inch long tips that pierced peoples skulls if they got caught underneath one of them. And then later the bits of plastic that you melted in the oven into little monster shapes. You just learned as a kid that if you do something stupid with these things, you'll get hurt. So you just were more cautious and didn't do the stupid stuff. But you have to remember, parents back then were working as engineers, designing station wagons with suicide seats where the very last seat of the car was reversed and faced the traffic behind the car. So if there was ever a car crash, the kid in the backseat was a goner .

@@spicyhare Lead was put into paint because it's very resistant to water and general moisture, and as a result was highly popular many years ago for decorating and metal work. Lead's also useful for pigmentation as well as being opaque, it had many uses, but not many people realised how poisonous lead was at the time. Nowadays, there's still many american homes with lead paint.
