Fantastic, Mike! Yes, those bikes seem to just eat up the road. Thanks for sharing a bit of the backstory on how you got your Vincent. I'm sure your Dad is smiling down while you're riding along as well. 🙏 Peace! 🏍👍

Lovely to see the Vincent(s) back out on the road, Mike. I managed to get out on my ‘73 BMW this morning and avoid the showers. Winter is hanging on here in the UK, as you probably know, and opportunities for riding are rare. Lovely story about how you got the bike and the memories it brings. All the best 👍🏻

I was just thinking as 'we rode along' I wonder how Geoff got on with his seized AJ. Lubrication starvation of some kind? Knowing Geoff's skills, I'm sure we will hear once he has it sorted .. 👍 The sun has also made a showing this last few days here in the south UK & like you I'm so pleased. People are smiling, probably feeling the same, 'is that wet weather behind us'? .. 😉 Thanks as always for sharing Mike have a great week atvb t .. .. 🏍

Yes same, I have 2 bikes needing work that I procrastinated on through the winter. My XS1100 is on the lift now… doing valves. My Triumph Sprint also needs valves, plugs, coolant flush and change etc. that’s ok, keeps me off the couch. Cheers.

Good morning Mike and good day. A lovely ride out and bless you for sharing the story of your father and the Vincent! Lost my dad almost 33 years ago when I was just 24. Although I have a wonderful wife, 3 fantastic sons and have worked hard to make a successful life, I often wonder what was missed not having all those years to get to really know him! With Gods blessings we will be together again someday! Meanwhile, what a wonderful life that those of us who know vintage motorcycling get to live!!! Nothing like it in my mind! Bless you and your family! 🌞🙏🏻🏍

Another 4 or 5 weeks to go here in Fairbanks Alaska. The earliest I’ve been out is April 1st, but for regular runs it’s late April or early May. I had three bikes running in the shop this morning, so I’m ready at least.

How I envy you; to be riding on St. Patrick"s Day. Warm, sunny, the smell of green grass and apple blossoms. Meanwhile here in VT it's 12 inches of snow and a long wait for days like yours. How we long for spring.

Was the Ajay freshly rebuilt? That looks like a new piston, seized on the thrust face? Many of these problems are caused by being bored to too close a tolerance for expansion and occur as they're being run in.

Still can't figure out why Vincent, after producing an almost perfect, beautiful machine folded, while other manufacturers kept on producing ever uglier and more impractical machines.
