oNe (Oregon Norton Enthusiasts) - February 2024 Club Meet
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hi guys, I hope you will enjoy this video from the Feb 2024 Oregon Norton Enthusiasts club meeting. Things didn’t go quite according to plan, but we had a great time and an amazing turnout at the Horse Brass Pub for lunch. I counted over 33 club members and over 20 bikes outside. It was a lot of fun. I will let you know the outcome of the breakdown

This is how friendship works! Well done…. Although I like the disco ball, I LOVE George’s Commando… it looks really perfect for me… great video again and a very nice Sunday morning routine! Thank you and greetings from northern Germany Manfred
These are always the most memorable rides. A ride that gets you a story between friends is always a winner!
I think the greatest color Norton ever used is Fireflake Royal Purple. Pure 70s funfair, bumpercar vibes.
Although not planed, George's issue for me was just what motorcycling is (or used to be) with someone breaking down & mates helping out. As you said Mike 'unexpected' but temporally resolved & two up makes a change .. 😅 A great ride out, the Indian was a treat to see ridden to the meet. Thanks as always for sharing, have a great week Mike. atvb t .. .. 🏍
Firing up and riding our classic motorbikes is always an adventure! That's what it is all about. Amazing tunes from those motors! Makes one smile for miles!
It was so nice of you to help your friend. There's a real brotherhood among riders and that's what makes our sport so rewarding.

Many thanks! That was a very fun diversion 😀
Love that color,Mike. It makes an already beautiful bike look even better. Thanks for the Sunday morning treat of classic bikes. Cheers and ride safe. Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Thanks for sharing this morning Mike. Looked like a chilly but beautiful day! Warmer here in Wis but roads are covered with road salt so no riding for us yet. Bless you and your family.
Darn I sure miss my 74 Commando. Best bike I ever owned too!
Oh wow that Suzuki 850G brought a tear to my eye. Of the 50+ bikes I’ve owned that was my very favorite. It did everything well.

Bombproof all of the GS's where. And imho very handsome too. Shaft drive I think with the G? And check out the sofa seat. Gorgeous.
I've just got to find a way to move into the States and into your neighbourhood Mike. The cul-de-sac is the holy grail for the classic beauty and simply the best sounds in biking. ☺ Interested to see what George's Commando's issue was. That bike looks as you said it = perfect.

I had an orange '72 750 roadster back in the mid 70s that looked pretty much just like that, beautiful color.
Very nice bikes, Mike. I owned a 1977 R100S from new. The Beemer with you there looks beautiful.
Stunning color!
When you said your Norton handles so easily, I have a 71 Roadster, I told my brother it almost rides itself beautifully
I've just subbed your channel. Better weather than here in the UK for sure all the best, Dave🙂

Fireplace Golden Bronze is shagadelic. Way too groovy baby. smashing video.
Nice bunch .., I loved a few weeks in Oregon …. love my ES2’s … but spotted an R90S there as well … sorry to say that despite our U.K. proud two wheel heritage .., My R90S is my absolute favourite .. But the Honda 90 is the most reliable. … long as we’ve got something to ride!
Amazing how much the engine moves in its mounts on startup, lovely looking machine 👍

Yeah, my favourite colour on the commando, love it. Got mine in black and gold, sadly with fiberglass tank. But now with a polished alloy tank.
You commented on the start of the video when you started your bike but I can’t say I noticed before how much the engine moves around. I’ve sometimes wondered what a modern ride away thief would make of one of those wonderful old Indians, hand change, left hand throttle and foot clutch, it blows my mind just thinking about it ! 🇬🇧
God bless you all keeping these classics riding & being ridden on the road
Amazing, how the engine rocks in the cradle
Beautiful Febrary weather in Oregon, I'm jealous...😊 Greatings from Germany, windy and rainy, 5 degrees

Great video and roads to go with it 👍
That metal flake paint is still my favorite.
A very groovy intro Mike. Next time drape the missus across the tank and saddle like one of those provocative 1970s Norton Commando ads. I'm sure she'd be open to such a suggestion. 🤣

Love the opening and that orange Commando is my favorite of yours. You and your buddies are doing it right.
Somewhere there is a bass boat, jealous over that orange flake… Serious cam in that old Ford too. Thanks for sharing.

Great, enjoyable video, thanks
Well yesterday was proof positive that even a bad day is a good day when you're on two wheels! And a great day it was! We covered alot of ground and everyone made it home safely!!
As always, something to look forward to. It's about the fellowship, Mike.
@12:33 you seemed to take your eyes off the road for a second there Mike😂😂.

Both of those bikes sound great! Thanks for sharing.
I had a cough/sputter/die/no start issue on a BSA unit twin. It had the old style Amal white plastic floats. One float had developed a pin hole, which was sinking, flooding, and fouling the plug. Nice group,I know my old lumps really enjoy that kind of weather. Cheers from New Jersey
Fab! Fab bikes! Vid is as relaxing as the rides! 👍🏻🇬🇧
What a fantastic array of bikes!!! Unbelievable.
I love the disco ball!
Always nice to get out and ride!...it's why i retired to AZ!...stroke put an end to that...anyway, as a result I was looking for someone to install a new wiring harness...you were nice enough to respond and I contacted the guys recommeneded and they never got back to me!
Looks like the rear brake shoes need looking at.The adjustment is nearly up.Such a good feeling ride and atmosphere. The sound on a ride by must be great.Great club spirit.

Discovered bent lower triple trees on both of my last Honda projects, an XL350 and a GL500. The XL had at least one bent fork leg as well. Not having easy access to a press eBay was my friend and I managed to find straight parts for not too extravagant a price! Looks as if you and the boys had a grand day out!
Awesome bike.
Always a good group of bikes at that gathering. I'd love to ride one of those old Moto Guzzi's. They look heavy, but I bet they ride great.
Hello Mike !!!tres belle vidéo et superbe amitié entre vous ❤️génial 👍 à bientôt Gilles.
Good to see the interstate with proper exhausts.

I love your Norton flake bronz color!! The silber Norton very cool bike. And two old Guzzi Ambassador very nice! Ex police bikes? Thank you video George from Hungary.
Love that color! Mine is in JP colors. How do you keep oil from leaking from the tachometer cable attach point?🏍
Thanks for super nice video today Mike. Great turnout and can’t wait to hear what happened to George’s bike. By the way what is that really nice curvey handlebar on your Thruxton?
I love the look of the fireflake / metalflake Norton Commandos. I do tend to associate the look with the earlier 750 however. 👍👍
Maybe the choke slides got stuck in the main slides when the lever was pushed back. Happened to me after i had a set of new Amal Premiers.
like the british bikes not owned one for 26years over here in new zealand we got the burt munroe motorcycle rally run down invercargill my friends went there i couldnt make it on my indian scout as bit short of money next year i try haha
I had the same symptoms with the first version of the Trispark-Ignition, after exchanging with the later version of Trispark no problems anymore.

George has a Boyer. It’s possible his battery is weak.
@Marcel-bs4jp
5 ай бұрын
@@swooshdave It could also be the pick-up connections on the Boyer-stator. Sometimes after a certain way the bike starts to misfire, when the bikes has cooled down then it will be OK for a certain time. (This is tipical for an old stator). But I think you know that already.
if riding/owning a vintage britbike was easy anyone could do it...took my 68 A65 out yesterday (55F) that's about as cold as i can stand!
With a Norton, you ride a Brit' and you come back on a Bavarian, try a BSA ! 😂😂 Good job for the vid 👍👍

Hi, it wasn't smoke.. it was the warm/hot exhaust in the very cold morning air 😉. The bike is really good usually once I have emptied out the oil and run it more frequently, but it was several months since I started it in the first part of the video. Cheers, Mike
👍👍👍🏍️🏍️🏍️
I miss my Norton Cammando..
Any opportunity to be helpful to your friends is an opportunity to display fine character !! My 1970 750 Commando Roadster ate three Amal slide from engine vibration before I did the single Mikuni conversion. My slide eating gave the same symptoms as George's Commando.
😊
I liked seeing the classic Moto Guzzis.
Looks like spark plug replacement could be an idea - did you try that ?
@swooshdave

Yes, no change with new plugs.
Gee that engine moves a lot, are you sure the iso rubbers aren’t shot ?. Lovely bike. Bought mine brand new in 1971 in AUS, starting was always “fun” 😁

Nothing to worry about. Actually you can see the movement on every video with a running commando engine but you wont see it in reality. The frame rate of the camera just has a hilarious "overlay" with the amplitude of the running engine.
