@@thesovgc She won the European AA champion in her first major international competition as a senior and after a pandemic. She's got determination. And she stayed on the beam during an AA competition so that's a big accomplishment for a Russian gymnast.

@@thesovgc Wont go that far either. Mustafina was able to translate all her local and European success onto the BIG STAGES. When Viktoria can do that then I will say she has arrived and could make such a comparison. Until then all I will say is that she is LOOKING good and has done well so far.

@@aliciamcdonald7105 AA Junior World Champion, AA Senior European Champion... I mean, I'm not even thinking she's going to beat Biles at the Olympics, But I know she has fierce and confidence, she enjoys gymnastics. It's the success the only future just like Musty..

Viktoria has everything it takes to be a great AA gymnast. She doesn’t have a weak event, she’s gritty and competitive, has unique skills and most importantly, mental strength. Amazing to see her win on her debut. And she’s still only 15? Hopefully another medal on floor. 🙌🙌🙌

Не редкость !!!! Это правило гимнастики у женщин , хореографичность! Всегда припадается девочкам хореография , с раннего детства , сейчас по новым правила будут сбавки делать за плохую хореографию и отсутствие артистизма !!!! Российские гимнастки всегда отличались хорошей хореографией

I love that she is using many double turns to have a higher d score, too many gymnasts throw in c dance skills to focus on harder tumbling and then get hammered by the harsh e score from the tumbling elements

@@mokunju8296 I agree 100%. So many focus on the D score that the E score is secondary and the non acro elements suffer as well. This girl has it all I think

What an explosive international senior debut!! I'm not even mad about the candle mount/wolf turn. She has plenty of time to peak/adjust.

Amazing! And confident for one so young. Commentators very kind, I like that.

I think she has a lot of promise, but her nerves get the better of her. Everyone likes who they like, and I tend to like gymnasts who are cleaner in execution, but because she's so talented, it's hard to keep in mind that she is still just a child! This level of skill at only 15, I think she may some day be one of the greats.

Not going to guarantee them a win anywhere else and a win on the BIG STAGE is where they want to win. Aside from all that you list above they need to have the mental fortitude to compete against the BIG GUNS. I am sorry but the European Championships did not have much of those aside from Melnikova.

Although with current code of points difficulty seems to be the most important factor, so called big guns win mainly because of it ...If the code allows gymnast to win a world title with 2/3 mayor falls from apparatuses, that says it all. Surtain sports, like gymnastics should try to promote style,aesthetics,elegance,artistry ,beauty etc. Winning is not everything in Gymnastics-here IDEALLY should be winning stylishly and beautifully 🌹🏵 🌹🌼

She may not have the elegance of others but then she is not built like the 'others' either but I see all of the above in Simone's work. The girl has style, artistry, beauty, difficulty, consistency, temerity, ingenuity, confidence while at the same time modesty, is aesthetically pleasing to ME and the most DOMINANT female athlete the sport has ever seen. She is not all that to you?? Well too bad. You and those like you will be hurting for a long time yet. I heard her say she is seriously thinking of sticking around till PARIS 2024!!!

Agreed. Komova is incomparable. She was truly a blast to the past. She was really reminiscent of the Soviets. Too bad her mental strength did not reflect that of her Soviet predecessors.

Great new, i hope she upgrade the routine and be the best . This is artistic gymnastic

She trains a Fabrichnova on UB and others upgrades on FX... ;) She has room for more difficulty but for me this is OK for her age. She's so young, keeping healthy it's better than a super hardcore routine.

@@maussolo All I was saying is that 'classic elegance' is not going to guarantee her or anyone else for that matter a win in anything except ,now that I think about it, in the minds of people who cannot accept 'muscular minis'. This by the way was a highly offensive reference to the most CONSISTENT, MENTALLY STRONG and SUCCESSFUL female gymnast of all times.

Just do a survey of the amount of people who watch gymnastic now than before and you will see. Thank God the likes of you and others don't get to decide anything relevant when it comes to the sport.

Their passes are very similar. Probably she will do a 2.5 twist front like Afanasyeva in Tokyo.

Why does this video keep going from one video to another. Waste of time to watch it. And she doesn’t almost die !

Aaaw man I was just thinking nice it was that she didn’t do lots of prancing on floor and then she went nuts with it. That stuff bugs me, these people are so skilled, what with all the sparkles and pretty leotards and makeup and prancing about? The men don’t need it, they just show their serious skills so I don’t get it.

I have adored Russian female gymnastics since the 1960's onwards but I'm sorry to say that I am not that impressed by this young lady. There are simply way too many ragged edges, missed landings and disconnected expression for my liking.
