Perhaps she can win with this routine. I hope she leaves out the double double (Fabrichnova) dismount. It doesn't seem to be worth the deductions for only 0.2 more.

The coach doesn't even seem to be suprised, it has to be an average routine for Vika. hopefully she'll compete as well in the qualifications and maybe even better !!? (I'm still undecided as far as the fabrichnova is concerned :/)

+Yerbabuena I'm hoping she goes for the harder dismount at finals only, because with the full in like this she has no deductions at all, maybe it is not woth it.

I hope her mental strength improved, too, since London. I would hate to see her grumpy and tearful again.

It's still gorgeous though if less perfect as it once was. Honestly I'm curious to see if the judges will be inclined to be generous with the superstar Olympians Viktoria, Aly and Gabby especially as it's been three years since they all competed an an international big stage. Not to say they don't deserve good scores for good routines but reputation can sometimes unconsciously influence.

She has more handstands deductions than she had before, but some huge deductions that she had, like that giant half turn and all the giants she used to do, are out, so I think she will score around the same.

+RussianStan 1 that giant half turn disrupted her old routine. Half the time it was a built-in .3 deduction. So glad she cut it out too.

She doesn't do a layout Jaeger anymore. It is piked throughout

Cool. Thanks for the detailed clarification! And yup, UB e scores always piss me off. Innovation is stifled because in a way, the girls are too harshly punished for doing hard skills. Why try a mo salto when you can score more with a simple set? Or why try a marathon of skills when you can have a short set where everything linked so you can bank more on bonus points and less opportunities for judges to deduct? And to the layman's eye, it's confusing to see an E score in the high 7's/low 8's for a set that's seemingly hit.

She was only short on the handstands

I can't be the only one bothered by her handstands. I so very badly want to iron out that hip angle. Particularly bothersome considering everything else was perfect.

no..you're not the only bothered by her handstands...because she's so flawless.. the slightest imperfections stick out like a sore thumb...she's beautiful to watch.

I still like Madison Kocian's bars better

Kocian's bars are not even comparable with Komova's. Komova is just way too superior.
