Quang Phu Cau, a village on the outskirts of the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, is known for its incense stick production. Lately, it has attracted crowds of social media influencers, eager to take photos in what they have dubbed “incense village”.

    I like it's bringing attraction and traction and awareness to a vietnamese village specializing in a craft that's traditionally desireable in Lunar New Year celebrations. Although, I don't like it's "instagram" worthy to take pictures of, it's something to come visit, take pictures of (without the person), and admire/appreciate the craft the villagers have put in.

    Tourism is a major business in Vietnam. In 2023, Vietnam received over 12 million tourists and generated about $2.6 billion in revenues. It’s not “for a couple of dollars”.
