I got to see her speak, and met her! She told a story about putting worms in her bed because she wanted her friends with her. Her mother explained to her that you can’t take wildlife from its home, and helped her put them back. Jane Goodall is just awesome, and what a great quote too!

So, are you a vegetarian or vegan? I agree with you. I am a vegetarian. Animals have feelings. I don’t consume them.

I showed this video to my 9 year old grandson who is on the autism spectrum. He literally had a small tear fall down his face while watching this. I asked him what about the video made him cry & he answered “I understand them”. Now he wants to build squirrel houses for his backyard. He has already built caterpillar houses, lol. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story. You’ve just inspired a little boy to do more kind things. Ugh, now I’m crying, but they are happy tears❤

Normally you would see a dog chasing a squirl, but this is a beautiful display of how two different opposing creatures can form a loving bond of trust. This is beautiful. My dog who has crossed over the rainbow 🌈 too was a gentle and loving angel like Murphy. He loved all the squirrels, birds and butterflies in the backyard. He would smile as they ate and frolicked in our garden as they played & ate. It’s so endearing and beautiful.

I think a lot of it is down to how chill Murphy is. I had a Goldie when I was a kid and he definitely was not chill, would smother you with love non stop so any squirrel in our garden would sprint away quickly as my dog ran towards it to say hello but Murphy shows remarkable calmness like he knows any sudden moves will scare the lil guy

Haha, I have a new golden puppy, and yes, she's definitely wild as can be. She's in the process of training to learn to remain somewhat calm when socializing, but anytime she comes across a new animal or person the excitement becomes uncontainable because she's convinced that everything in the world is meant to be her friend 😂 They're the best

Can you not get outside at all? Perhaps neighbors could help you with a bird feeder in a railing, or one of those that have a suction cup for windows. Hummingbird feeders in summer, too. If you're in a care facility ask for an animal visit. Good luck. Lots have benefitted from internet interaction & camaraderie since Covid.

I had a squirrel i fed who one day seemed to want my attention to follow him. I did. He led me to a pigeon who could not fly. Looked like a Hawk attack. I took care of the bird for a couple of years and it became my Cat's best friend!

Oh my heart. Murphy is a sweet and kind and gentle soul.

So precious! When we lived in CT my mother made friends with a Chipmunk by making a trail of peanuts into the house. We also called her Chippy. We only had to call her name, and she would come running up and she would sit on our laps to eat the peanuts. Love them.

We put peanuts and other seeds out for the grey squirrels. They knock on the sliding glass door when the jar is empty. My jack russell definitely does not have the same relationship with them that murphy does haha
