    I wish all service men were as good as you keep up the good work ! I had a problem with my oil burner there was air in the line. I tried bleeding the system but it did not work still had air. Call the service guy he missed misdiagnose it he told me it was the pick up tubes that were in my oil tank I have two tanks I replaced the lines that wasn’t the problem it was pump on the side of the burner. He installed a new pump and never checked the pressure on the pump to match it with the burner. When I seen your video and I seen you go through all the steps and make sure the system is running perfect I said to my self now that a Mechanic. Don’t ever take shortcuts keep up the good work guy one day I hope you have your own business. 👍

    Great video! Interesting, informative, and entertaining. Looks like you take pride in doing top notch work. I like how you show yourself checking the references in the books and making sure everything is to spec. If the guy who installed it had done that, you wouldn't have had to clean all that soot! I'm here because I'm in the process of taking quotes on replacing our boiler here in MA, and everyone is quoting Viessmann.

    So I’ve basically done a lot of oil and gas work, and became a licensed plumber. AC has always been mini splits, but over the last couple years and mainly this year I’ve been getting more into the ac side of things too, and some refrigeration since our company bought out another and they did all of that. I enjoy gas work more, but still do quite a bit of oil too there’s so much of it in NH. I wouldn’t mind doing less haha

    Great video bud nice to see great working practice everything done by the book I'm in the same business in UK was wondering does all oil burners in us run on red Diesel and do you have fuel freeze issues in winter as here we use kerosene as it only freezes at -40C anyway great to see a proper service and not just throwing in a 70 B mamma

    Thank you! I appreciate the positive feedback. Yeah I try to nail down all the settings by the book and go from there to fine tune things, not one of those “set up by eye” kinda guys! Lol. We have both #2 red and kerosene is usually used for mobile homes with outdoor oil tanks that are likely to freeze.

    I ran across this video because we had a 196 50 Viessmann installed in march 2023. Since it was installed I complained on noise and combustion smells. as well as the sense of a "haze" in the air no one else seemed to see. Its a very long saga that's still going on with poor techs that just don't test the basics. I'm not sure what's going on with these Viessmann boilers. Mine has a Riello burner. So far I hate it. Its making us ill. I wanted a Carlin however i was told its not available from Viessmann at the time of install. It cant be the boiler or can it. I just replaced a Weil Mclean gold with a 7 year old EZ1 Carlin. This thing burned all the oil to a fine dust. Signed Disappointed

  • @BlueCollarBiceps

    @BlueCollarBiceps

    Sounds like simple lack of setup to me. They need to check the pump psi, burner head setting, nozzle, draft, combustion analysis. They need to look in the Riello book for that particular boiler or simply the manual that comes with the boiler to find these required specs. The Riello is my favorite burner out there, it puts the others to shame when set up correctly. Much more efficient and much more advanced than a Carlin or Beckett. Riello is the perfect pairing with Viessmann but not if you don’t know what you are doing. Viessmann or Buderus are the top of the line and as good as you can get with oil. Hope this gives some insight from someone who has been doing it for 15 years.

    Nice! Yeah I like doing both it keeps it interesting. My go to would be a Trio boiler with a Riello burner. The trio is very similar to a Biasi or a Buderus. My other choice would be the Viessmann Vitorond 100 with a Riello.
