There is very little you can do when facing a ball-handling, three-point-shooting, agile and atheletic big with Yao Ming's height and 8 foot wingspan. You'd call your buddy to double him but then he quickly finds his open teammate with his superior court vision and quick hands. Then during your offensive possession, good luck in any attempt to make a shot in the paint. Even on perimeter you still feel his defensive pressure just by being on the court. The future league is in serious trouble...

Best defender and Top 25 in the league rookie year. Year 2 is about to be a war crime. There’s deadass no one in the league that can guard Wemby.

I was convinced that bio-mechanics would work against a player of his size. I was convinced he would not make it through an entire NBA season without suffering a major injury. I was also convinced that his ball handling was a mere gimmick and would not translate into a genuine, meaningful skill for him. I was WRONG on all accounts and I could not be more delighted about it.
