He's just too wholesome and has a level of excitement for things that few people likely even get to experience. I have a feeling he's one of those people that really just finds absolute joy in knowledge and in learning. When Adam is talking about how they would expose for that particular scene, the concept really hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm an amateur photographer and lately I've been getting into film photography, and I never really realized that all of these movies were, yeah, shot ON FILM... Us young-ish (28) people got to grow up with digital cameras and cellphones, and until you try to shoot on film you don't really realize how hard it actually is, compared to digital. You guys have shocked me. I worked on those same shots that Adam Savage worked on for Matrix Revolutions 18 years ago, and until today, I had no idea he was behind the practical side of the FX. I animated the lightning coming off of the Mjolner ship as it crashed through the gate and fell. I can add to the narrative here. We ended up replacing much of the ship in CGI, presumably because the model had more detail added in post production. There were also CGI sentinel(squiddy) robots added at the bottom of frame, being kicked up by the debris and crash. I was impressed with how convincing the blue lightning looked in how it lit up the smoke elements.

Personally I quite like the prequels, and I love the sets and models they did. And I love Adam's descriptions of how the set designers work in their own backstory to each prop or set model. You see similar depth of work with things like Blade Runner where the art department thought about the past use backstory of each item or building when designing it and it just adds so much nuance to the worldbuilding that's unspoken.

If you like that kind of visual storytelling you'll love the production of Mad Max: Fury Road. They didn't write a script; instead, they made thousands of storyboards in which they could showcase all the different designs and visual worldbuilding that the artists had in mind; so the movie is cluttered to the brink with detail, but everything is cohesive and doesn't distract from the story, it just adds to it. It's amazing.

I think this is a miscalculation. I personally thought it was too much stimulation for him, as those are two very energetic individuals. If you watch, he does not seem to have the most care for people like Wren. I don't particularly know if either Sam or Adam cared for one another, as Adam doesn't really answer questions the same as he did for Wren, nor with the same intensity or enthusiasm.

Damn, every time i see Adam i get hit by such a huge nostalgia surge. This guy filled my childhood and young adulthood, he made me passionate about science and most importantly taught me to question and test everything, no matter how silly or pointless it might look at first. Of course the rest of the Mythbusters crew also played a significant role in that, but somehow Adam was and still is the most vivid representation of the spirit of that show. Had HUUUUGE crush on Kari ( i mean who hadn't), laughed almost to unconsciousness with Tory and his ability to self inflict injuries, was completely amazed by Grant and Jamie's ability to built incredible stuff, but Adam was like the finishing touch to all of that. The pure unrated, unfiltered emotion coming out of him is what bridged the TV and the viewers. His grown child personality on the show bonded perfectly with the inner child in each and everyone of us. As for the video... well for me personally it's the best react video on this channel so far.

Yeah I'd like to have a session of the guys talking about those things freely. The shots cut in are really nice, but I'm sure they could find hours of material to just talk opinions and approaches to stuff. Maybe on Adam's channel with some practical demonstration in prop building. So much fun stuff to do

Listening to Adam talk about the process and the story behind each detail just reminds me of how much I do that same thing with my warhammer models, I like to have a story for every unit and character for how they got there, and having more recently done terrain work, it's very interesting mentioning like the story behind every rust streak and the history of the model coming out as you continue to get it more and more completed
