I got verdico back in 2016, I got dizzy, my eyes felt like I was spinning around, I could not see, after the dizziness subsided I felt sick to my stomach, the nurse at work gave me a glass of cold water which made me throw up. I did see ear, nose, and throat who said nothing wrong with my ear but from watching this video there is a problem with the ears. It is the most scariest thing I’ve ever been through. The doctor never talked about therapy.

I was diagnosed with BPPV years ago. The doctor prescribed bed rest until it cleared in its own. I could ill afford to take weeks off from my life a few times per year, so I'd muddle through, holding onto things to steady myself and vomiting once or twice per day. At 25 years old I had to use a cane a few times/year just to walk safely. Then I learned the Eply maneuver and it was a godsend. My vertigo resolved within an hour instead of taking days or weeks. Thank you thank you for sharing this information so generously. I have new exercises for my toolkit. I hope no one has to suffer like I did, and they find your simple effective recommendations.

Not saying men dont get it, or stress is the cause. Im stating its a major cause. Also i found put is too much salty foods creates vertigo. I feel some peoples inner ear is weaker than some, hence loose crystals.

@@airforceone6523 that’s exactly what I think. Some of us are just more prone to it. Also, my vestibular therapist told me that my right ear canal is more prone to it than my left, meaning the spinning happens clockwise. So, whenever I feel it coming on (usually when I’m still sleeping and turn around in bed), I wake up with a jerk… ugh such a horrible feeling!! And then I go straight into the Self-Epley maneuver for correcting my right ear. It helps almost immediately after I do the maneuver. Then I’m good to go… but I gotta keep doing it. At least twice a day-after waking up and before going to bed-every day until that slightly woozy feeling goes away and the spinning that happens when I do the exercise doesn’t keep happening. That’s how I know that I’ve beaten that particular bout of vertigo. No one has adequately answered my question as to exactly WHY it’s my right ear… it just is.

This episode was the worst I have had. It was combined with prescription medications. I tried a lower dose and Brandt-Daroff. It took about 4 days and a lot of prayer. The first 3 days minor improvements and sometimes worse. 4th day started to improve more rapidly. Drink a lot of water, exercise, eat right. 4th day 90 to 95% better. I was diagnosed with floating crystal years ago. Went to an ent specialist and another time er. Both doctors performed a similar technique. I now do at home usually once a year or so as needed. I sit one bed with feet at footboard. Place a pillow under my lower back, and making sure I have plenty of room, throw myself back. I do deep breathing slowly until dizziness stops, then throw myself to side with head slightly hanging off bed, breathing slowly and deeply until dizziness stops. I only have to do this once and than rest for about 10 minutes and I am good to go.

This exercise worked perfectly for me - after the first day of doing the exercise 3 times that day (5 reps, 3X), I had no spinning - just a little nausea. I had the spinning and nausea in one direction only - i.e., when falling left. I've had vertigo for about 10 years on and off. It's good to know that you can actually treat it when it happens. I plan on continuing the exercise for the next week to ensure that the crystal is back in its place. I'm in the no spin zone. Good luck everyone - like the Doctor said in the video 85-95% success rate!

I started having vertigo about 25 days ago. It only happened when I was getting out of bed and when I was going from upright to sleep position. It also happened as I was turning from middle to sideways as I was laying. Thankfully it only lasted a few seconds (max. 10 sec), but still it was annoying. I followed the routine in this video a few times, it worked on the fourth! I heard (or imagined?) some kind of soft water flow sound in the second out of the five last repetitions. I stopped having vertigo for about a day, I hope it stays this way! Big thanks to Shari!

Could not have got to a Dr if I tried so was pretty much unable to do anything for 3 whole days. In my 70s & on my own it was pretty scary. Even now months later am very cautious when I lay down & get out of bed. Helpful information.

Yeah, I wonder if it's my exuberant throwing myself out of bed in the morning to get my cawfee! Nectar of the gods, only one mug a day... I will now forever CAREFULLY roll out of bed! (I'm 66 and live alone too.) This is an excellent video! My first time, I called a neighbor to drive me and spent the day in the ER. (Thought it was a stroke -- except I had no "regular" stroke symptoms...) Diagnosed with Benign Postural Vertigo, and let go home when the dizziness stopped. (with drugs for next time.... NEXT TIME?!? EEK!) Next time was last night... annoyance but no fear... Tried Eply, threw up (made it to the toilet, thankfully!) (TMI?). Ended up going to bed at 7:30 (world still rocking and rolling!) Woke up this a.m. fine and stable. Oddly, (?) a couple months ago my "normal" life-long tinnitus got massively LOUDER on the left side.... Last night, it was way loud. Related? Dunno.

I have suffered from vertigo for many years now. I had brain tumour removed many years ago, I had treatment while in hospital by physiotherapist which consisted of exercises to neck while lying with head over end of bed, then holding head down for one min. Then turn to right and repeat holding head still for one min. Then return head up for one min, then repeat on left side for one min, return head up again for one minute and slowly lift up to sitting position .this to be done three times per day until all dizziness has receded. Good luck to all.

The epley maneuver is just a series of head positions that help re-align to the crystals in your inner ear. You can look them up online. Hope this helps.

Better late than never! Having been diagnosed many years ago with Meniere's Disease (briefly described as an inner ear disorder) I highly recommend if you are experiencing re-occurring bouts of vertigo/dizziness best to be tested to determine the actual underlying cause.

@@gerrigarrickcheck out the half somersault maneuver as well. They’ve done studies, and that one works just about as good as the Epley maneuver, maybe even better when doing it at home, because it produces less dizziness and it’s pretty easy to do as long as you don’t have back issues and you can get down on the floor, stuff like that. I’ve had a lot of luck with that one.

But still sometimes I feel my body is vibrating or something is moving in my head. I have rocking sensation though I don't have the feeling that room is spinning. If I travel for long duration say 8-10 hours by car, I have sensation that I am moving. I can't stand still for a longer time, feel like moving ..when I walk I feel better....is this due to vertigo?
