This technique saved me about 15 years ago. I was completely debilitated with vertigo. I couldn't drive or even leave my house. Someone introduced me to the Epley Maneuver and after one treatment I was symptom free for over a year. I had one more slight episode about a year and a half later. I immediately did the maneuver and I've been symptom free ever since.

I followed the advice given here, doing the procedure myself, I'm delighted to say it worked and I've been symptom free now for 2 years! Cured! It's been life changing. @@CzechRiot: This happened 5 times in October/November 2016 and once in 2018 to someone I know. Each time it lasted about 4 hours in the morning from the moment they woke up. It was very scary and disabling. They did not know about the Epley Maneuver then. From what I understand this vertigo can happen at any time. I don't believe it is an age related issue. Another person I know had an extreme case. It lasted for months. They were in the hospital. They vomited often from the vertigo. They were definitely disabled. One more person I know just the other day had an occurrence of it where it lasted only a few minutes. All of these people are over 50 years old but, again, I don't believe it is age related but then I really do not know.

@@billwilson5341 From what I read, like most things, it´s age related to the extent that "everything" tends to become more likely once you age, all kinds of problms and diseases (generally speaking). I actually had about 5 or 6 episodes, maybe a little more, less then 10. One of my grandmothers had it, only started later in life, my sister also had it. It seems to be genetic (partially). The first time I had it, about 2 hours prior I was at the gym, lifting heavy, and felt a slight pop in my head. It was very mild, so I didn´t bother. But when I was home preparing lunch, when I leaned back to drink water it hit me hard, I didn´t know what was going on, I thought it could be some sort of stroke or whatever, I stater falling sideays with Nystagmus, and nausea. I sat on a chair for about 20 minutes or so, until my eyes stopped twitching. Then I was sort of ok, but felt a little weird the rest of the day, nothing major. The second time I believe I had it while sleeping, which was very weird. It comes out of nowhere. Since i read there´s no cure or real understanding for why it happens, I sort of ignored it, and learned to be prepared mentally for when it happened. Two years ago I was ironing a shirt cause I was about to go to a party, when it happened, I was like... god damn it... but also was like, fuck it, I´m gonna go anyway. I took certain pain medications (it helps) and simpply focused on balacing my body (you learn how to do it eventually). About an hour later I was basically ok. I had it twice last year, but it´s been like 8 months since i last had it. Still I feel like about to have it occasionaly, I just hyperventilate intentionally and the feeling goes away. It´s all some sort of game. BTW, I´m not old or have any other health issues that I know of. But when I had it, one thing that helped was going out running, I guess the increased blood flow and temperature makes things better.

THIS WORKED FOR ME! I’m a 48-year-old male from the UK. I developed what I soon realised was vertigo on a Friday evening whilst laying in bed. It was horrific, spinning followed by vomiting more spinning and vomiting. I’ve never felt so out of control in all my life, completely debilitating and exhausting. This went on all weekend until on the Sunday when I was able to sit down and have a look at some KZread info on the condition , I found the Epley manoeuvre and gave it a go immediately twice on the right side with no obvious effects and then once on the left. As soon as I rolled my head over I could feel the spinning and my wife said that my eyes were twitching like mad, I just managed to control it so I wasn’t sick. I went through the manoeuvre holding for 60 seconds in the 3 positions, until I eventually set up. I still felt terrible and it didn’t immediately stop the nausea side of the condition so I went to bed sat up slightly. I woke up at 2 o’clock in the morning for the first time without the room swimming in four days I could’ve cried! I rolled over where I would normally have been back in a flat spin. I went straight back to sleep and woke up like nothing had ever happened. Thank Goodness, my relief was insane. I’d encourage anyone to give it a try.

@mycommentpwnz I used to play all sports back in the day. I am now 55. I think mine is more age related. There are 3 or so techniques to help clear the crystals from the ear carnal that is causing the Vertigo or BPPV. It absolutely sucks. I used the Epley manuver and the Foster Manuever. Both worked for me. See them in action in KZread. Commit to the mauver to completion as you will feel like you want to throw up from the spinning and your eyes bouncing but it will subside. Best of luck!

These guys explained it better than all the other KZread videos I saw. My two-week bout with vertigo has ended. The difference was where I saw how the head should be tilted below the shoulders. I didn't have a physician's table, so I lay on my bed with a pillow under my shoulders so my head could tilt back further during the maneuver. I performed this maneuver before going to bed. When I awoke, the room didn't spin as I got up, but for hours I was dizzy--but not like before; it was constant but not as severe. However, by the middle of the day, I had no vertigo at all. When I went to bed the following night and first lay my head down, the room did not spin. When I awoke and got up, the room didn't spin. I'm hoping this situation stays clear. For now, I'm vertigo clear. Whoopee!

I have done this for my mom a few times and it has been the only thing to help her. It works! This has saved me from having to take her into physical therapy for vertigo, which she was diagnosed with. She likes to have this done before bed and she wears a neck brace so that she keeps her neck straight and chin up. She gets through breakfast the next morning before taking the brace off and there was only one time that it didn't work, in which I repeated it the next evening. The last time I did the maneuver for her was about 10 months ago and it hasn't returned since.

Thanks so much! I had BPPV about 12 years ago REALLY bad after having a massage where the therapist worked around my neck too much! I began to feel dizzy at the end and then it came on full force. Room spinning, could barely walk. Had to have sister drive me home. I proceeded to vomit for hours with NO RELIEF. I sat very still supine w/ head up on pillows throughout the night. It eventually calmed down. Went to 5 top ENT docs. NO ONE KNEW WHAT I HAD OR HOW TO HELP ME. I suffered with it for 8 months before I came upon a chiropractor who knew exactly what I had and I was treated w/ the Epley manuever 2 times and was cured. I do still get vertigo very mildly and do the maneuver to rebalance. It is a miracle treatment and so simple although can be discomforting to have to incur the dizziness to treat it and get the crystals back in their right place but so worth it. Nice to have a doctor do it with you. Dehydration can increase crystal displacement and of course a fall or head injury. Cheers to Dr. Epley!

It stopped about 6 hours later. Woman doc tells me that night it's some kind of rocks in my inner ear. I looked it up aftet i got home and read all about the crystals breaking loose in the ear canal. The only thing i can add to your video is when your doing the epley manuever you are trying to guide the crystals thru the canal and then out. I'm 65 and on medicare thank god. Wished i would have known all this before. 🤪

After I watched your video , I did the same to her , at the begging she had a trouble in her stomach and almost fainted , but thanks to your video I was very calm and continued performing this exercise on her. After few minutes, she was completely blocked and calm and just ask to sleep. After that 4 days already she is 100% good after 2 whole months of struggling with vertigo. When you first tip your head back, you will get very dizzy, but it will go away soon- in less than a minute. then when you turn your head the other direction- you'll probably be a little less dizzy, and that will go away soon. And the last step should be even less dizziness. If you try this correctly and your symptoms don't get better after a few tries, go to a doctor to see what's wrong. Get better soon : )

It was so bad I couldn't work. My primary care couldn't help me. 2nd time vertigo stayed 2 weeks but I was out for a couple of days, discovered this video and was able to handle rest of the days. 3rd time vertigo stayed 2-3 because I followed this maneuver from day 1. I was feeling dizzy whenever I would lay down on my back, but especially if I rolled to the right. I prefer to sleep on my left side and I began to wonder if it could be that ear wax was building up in my right ear, because I lay to the left so much more than the right. I wash my hair in the bathtub, laying back first to wet my hair and then again after lathering with shampoo to rinse it out. I figured that water must be getting stuck in my ear. So, I decided to lay on my left side with a towel under my head and I had my husband pour hydrogen peroxide into my right ear. I let it go to work, just bubbling away. It actually freaked me out because the bubbles pushed at one side, then another and all over in there and it felt like a bug was in there trying to get out! Then I flipped over and let it all drain out. I had even applied a hot wet washcloth to my ear prior to this. It unplugged my ear and the dizziness went away!

They finally gave me Meclizine pill which only gave a slight bit of relief and then they sent me to the bill payment office dizzy and sent me on my way alone because of the pandemic. They also gave me a Rx for Meclizine that I have not used. It did not help enough for me to take it with all the side effects it causes. It has been almost a year now and I still feel dizzy and have slight vertigo at least a few times a week. I have had to stop riding my motorcycle and sometimes driving is even tricky if I move my head around too much. Needless to say, I use carpool to get to and from work and don't go out much. I am only 50, so it really is a burden. Not to mention the ER bill was almost $100,000 (I had insurance that covered most of it), but since the IV was placed improperly I had to go have the CT scans done again a week later even though I had to pay for the ER CT that was improperly performed because the dye was in my arm and not in my bloodstream! Total medical bills for that month were well over $100,000! I could almost pay off my house with that. And nothing was 'cured' or alleviated by anything they did for all that money!

Quick question, I prefer this on myself when needed and usually come back slow mainly due to no one being around to guide me down. Does the speed coming back have a big impact on its results.

I live in Canada, and trying to get to a doctor is difficult. The walk in clinics are closed but by appointment only, hospital ER wait times are ridiculous. My boyfriend has been having issues for about 2 months, and he cant seem to get in to see a doctor. I did some research on his symptoms and ended up here. This is so cool that I can do this at home with him. I am hoping it worked. I am very grateful for this video.
