Poor little Cristina, she must have been terrified. As for the joint defendants, particularly Cristina's mother who appeared to find the verdict such a shock, what on earth did they think the verdict would be? Putting a disabled child in a hot car for nearly six hours, while they carried on with life without a thought for her wellbeing. Despicable people!

She knows full well that this is a just sentence. However, she was destined to be in a prison of guilt for the rest of her life anyway. As for Larry, he didn't sign up for this, but sadly, he should have known better, too. He was there. Like Rita, he let it happen. I wonder what the sentencing will be.

People need to stop leaving their children and their pets in hot cars. Just leave the pets safe at home and take your kids with you into the air conditioned store. Wake up and realize the inside of a car gets very hot very quickly. Leaving a car running isn’t safe either. Use common sense and just don’t leave animals alone in the car for any reason. People think they are only gone for “5 minutes” but they get distracted in the store. This is a horrific way to die for a child or a pet.🙏🏻😢😿

I forgot my toddler was in the back seat one morning. Normally I took her to the babysitter on my way to work. Just seconds after I passed the babysitters exit I remembered where I was supposed to be going. After turning around, and taking her to the sitter, I was in shock that I forgot her that easily. At 51 years of age I have never forgotten that morning. It never happened again. My heart feels compassion for parents that have lost a child this way. It would be a nightmare! However, these two are different.

It's no different to roman days when they left the vulnerable out in the woods at the edge of the city to die. She's lucky the punishment is only prison and that she has a rest of her life. It's more consideration than she gave her child.

He doesn't waste taxpayers' dollars with a miss trial when he knows in his soul the quilt. He also has the utmost respect for the jury. What's that mean?. He isn't going to let the jury's time go to waste. He respects that they are away from their family's and jobs. He thanks them several times. HES AN AMAZING judge. Now for this lady to cry I'm surprised she didn't fall on the floor. When ur a parent u are 1000 percent responsible for that child forever. She dam well knows what she did. I can't be in a hot car for 5 min nor do I let my pet stay in the car not even with the windows down. How many times d I we all have to be told that the car is alot hotter than outside. I'm so sorry for that angle. For the daughter to yalk Luke this lady was mother of the year made me sick. Good moms don't do what she did. Good moms don't smoke crack and leave their baby's in the car. Shame on them. Now they will spend I hope the rest of their lives in jail. I just don't get people?. I MADE A BIG MISTAKE & REALIZED WHY CHAT WAS SO ANGRY WITH ME!! At first, I was totally against the bf being criminally charged because he wasn't her father, caregiver, or mandated reporter. However, that was BEFORE I found out I missed an entire day of trial, which included his testimony & the video replay!! I didn't know he had left Christina in the car, the entire time her mother was gone & NEVER went back outside, until she FINALLY returned!! That makes all the difference in the world because the moment she left, he would be responsible for Christina's well-being and his neglegence makes him legally culpable for her death!! BEFORE watching that day, I was trying to explain how Jurors are supposed to disregard their emotions and only consider the evidence, facts of the case, & the laws that govern the state during deliberations. (If he didn't leave, then police would have never been able to legally charge him.) Yeah it sucks & he's a POS but, culpability laws only apply to parents, guardians, and mandated reporters. There should be a law that requires people to either help or report negligence, abuse, or neglect when it pertains to a child under 18.

I saw this live, and what I don't get is how come she thought that they wouldn't find her responsible for what she did to her daughter. her daughter was handicapped she could not come out of the car and tell people that she was 🔥 and she needed to come out. and that's murder she's a cold-blooded killer

If you lock someone up in a cage for 24 hours a day, what does that make the person who does that? How much better are we than them?

What in the world did these 2 think was going to happen? This was definitely murder based on the extreme indiffence. What harm could there have been to have that child in the house?

Mom is guilty as sin but I feel a little for Larry. I think he was unfortunately put in a situation where he was responsible for someone’s life when he was in no type of state to be responsible for anything. I feel manslaughter would have been more appropriate for him.

How could she react so viscerally to the verdict? Did she actually expect to be acquitted? Why did these two even request a trial? The crime was captured on video. They should have fought for a plea bargain or just pleaded guilty and thrown themselves on the mercy of the court.

I don't understand why if she felt she could not care for her anymore that she did not place her daughter in some kind of nursing home or assisted living facility where she could have gotten help with her.
