Venomous Saliva? - Humans are space orcs

Headphone users: watch your volume, I scream in the middle of the video.
Links in the description!
Ok so technically I've given myself the deadline of Saturday to put out a new video and technically it's still Saturday for me. So I think I'm good.
Now as for humans being venomous, I've definitely met some people who spoke with words of venom and I've met people who's mouth was so nasty it might as well have been venom. Humans being venomous could be pretty symbolic.
Remember, I take requests for video ideas! With more ideas, I may be able to do more than one video a week!
Check out my friends Instagram who helped draw and come up with the design for my new channel mascot, Sage!

"Oh you think WE'RE bad! You should see the Komodo Dragon!" "I thought dragons were a myth of your world" "Yeah, but on this one Island, there there's these massive lizards the size of a small crocodile, which have a saliva so filled with bacteria that it uses it to hunt!" Krill knew that the "Crocodile" was a terrifyingly efficient swampland predator about twice as long as a human with a bite-strength that could bend or deform weaker industrial metals. "Do you wrestle this one too?" Krill asked, recalling the horror stories of wounded humans using one limb and some light adhesive cloth to make those apex predators submit. "Well no, their bite is pretty scary. not only will it kill a human, it'll hurt a LOT as you die. Heck, a Burg might die on contact." "Just how deadly ARE they?" Krill asked tentatively. "Well, they bite their prey once, and then follow it around as it dies slowly of infection, only to eat its infected corpse to renew its mouth bacteria." "And let me guess, you made it a pet?" "Well, no, but some really mean human criminals use a pit of them as a terrifying execution method" Edit: Spelling

Side note: In practice, human salivary secretions vary from slightly acidic (a pH of 6.2) to slightly basic (a pH of 7.6). In context, the human captain's salivary pH was lowered due to the stress of the situation, enhancing the acidic properties. In addition, human salivary secretions contain the following: * Predigestive enzymes, such as amylase and lipase, which would have contributed to the breakdown of the protective slime layer. * Electrolytes. * White blood cells. * Discarded skin cells. * Antimicrobial agents. * Lysozyme. In the event recorded, it was likely this substance which played the greatest part in the destruction of the Burg commander. Lysozyme is an antimicrobial agent found in most human secretions. It acts by breaking down the cell walls of bacteria, and has been shown to dissolve chitin, though not so well as the unrelated chitinase.

I have sort of a love-hate relationship with "humans are space orcs" stories. On the one hand, I love stories that point out just how fucking weird humans are. On the other, it's always bugged me how most of them make it seem like every other sentient species in the universe would be scared shitless by the same aspects of human biology. I mean, even on our own planet, there's a tree whose fruit can cause stomach bleeding and cancer in humans, but iguanas have no problem eating it. We all evolved on the same planet, using the same basic chemical structures. It just seems really arrogant to assume that we can handle or enjoy things that all alien life couldn't, like we wouldn't be equally horrified to see an alien from a planet with its own unique chemical composition and ecosystem snorting... I don't know, cyanide. I bet, like, Trisolaris would have an underground market for cyanide or something.

I read this one story about an alien who was horrified by the idea that you can transplant organs from one human to another. Ever heard of a hydra? Not the mythological creature, the actual animal. They can regrow from a single cell. If you push one through a sieve, or stick it in a blender, or something, you end up with a hundred new hydras.

As we define it, it's just bacteria. Technically speaking though the bacteria was "injected" into the Burg through the carrier saliva, as the saliva broke through the protective slime layer. It would be like me tearing off a chunk of your skin and splashing venom on the wound. I didn't use a syringe, but your bloodstream now has venom in it. The one odd thing here is that aliens treat venom and bacteria as similar antigens. Bacteria is alive and uses the body in a parasitic manner to reproduce rapidly. Venom is a catalyst that destroys our proteins, which explains why some venoms are so deadly even with only a bit. Some catalysts don't deform after they perform their reactions, while others only have a limited number they can perform before becoming useless.

Where it seems humans are usually put at some kind of disadvantage, the whole space orcs thing flips it around, if a bit much in the other direction. Like the idea of a physically weaker and more frail species that never developed an adrenaline equivalent being terrified of an enraged human mid-adrenaline dump is the opposite of what you’d usually see.

Not sure why this appeared in my recommended, but it kept me until the end. What an amusing tale.

All fun and games till an alien sees a mother clean her child’s face with her own saliva, and the child merely responds with discomfort

Me, venomous?! HAHAHA You should meet some of the creatures we have called rattlesnakes, cobras, and taipans...and don't get me started on these little frogs in the Amazon or a wide selection of ocean-dwelling creatures.

I love the idea of humans being the orcs of the universe! Especially when you consider how strong we are/can be to survive on earth. Not to mention it's a welcome change of pace from "the tiny week human was beaten by the (insert dumb alien here) because we not stronk ;o;"

If you hear a snorting sound followed by a throat rumble the human is warning you that it's about to launch a toxic projectile.
