Some interesting findings! I'm a bit surprised by the no wear while running but unoccupied, I wonder if that was a deliberate choice maybe to avoid issues if people forget to shut off a tractor in a server maybe

Thanks for the answers, interesting results. It's a pity they didn't put more detail in the damage system, just sitting there and not moving damages, just as much as driving it around working hard pulling massive implements behind it. :( It's a shame they did such a poor job. OK Q) if I had a tractor that was 700 hp and a 2nd tractor at 150hp - both brand new, never used. and then added something on the back like a plough. that requires 150hp to pull, will the 2nd tractor get more damaged (due to it struggling to pull the device) compared to the 700 hp tractor which would very easily pull a 150hp required plough / plow.

In that scenario both tractors will get damaged at the same rate :)

I'd be interested to know if there have been changes (since release) in how rocks affect wear and tear? I know in the beginning rocks added wear to implements of about 10%, though tractors were not affected!! I believe the rationale was to encourage us to roll/pick rocks to eliminate wear, and to penalize us by increased tractor damage was just not cricket - however there is still a tractor maintenance cost penalty, since we're having to add hours to it while we're doing the rock & roll thing!

Great question - would live to know the answer about rocks wear & tear.

The question for this I'd like to know does the brand of tractor make a difference because I have seen that some of the John deer tractors cost a lot to maintain/ can you do a test where you use different brands on the same field doing the same job and see if the maintenance cost are different 🤔

i struggle at times to know when i should cough up the dough and buy a new tractor to replace my used one. around 35+ hours i think my maintenance cost per "season" is getting so bad that it is costing me enough to warrant a new tractor. i mean 4-6k a season on just one tractor with 246 hp accumulates quickly lol

Yeah I replace mine when they get to 20hrs could be a hangover from FS19 but would be good to know when is it best or is twee any reason not to change up

Suggest you watch the first video again. the more often you repair the better, don't let the damage % keep dropping. If you are going to plough 3 fields, then I suggest you repair both the tractor and plough after EACH field you do.

does damage on Combines affect harvest yeald or simillar... if at all? how does Damage Affect Seeders or other field working Equipment?

Damage to harvesters lowers yield, damage to headers lowers working speed, damage to other implements such as seeders lowers working speed

i repaired a tractor for aprocimately 9k and the value got up by 9,5k, so no extradifference. Haven't tried to re-paint however.

Is there a difference between manufactures in how quickly a machine receives damage, I noticed the Fendt Black Beauty take’s damage very quickly.

I have a separate video on that, harvester damage lowers yield, header damage slows the harvester down but does npt affect yield

Expensive, yes, but if you are going to sell the vehicle/implement, you should paint (and repair) it because the increased price at which you sell it for will not only cover the cost of those, but you get even more in return.

To be more realistic a tractor should get more damaged if it is using equipment that is beyond it's rating. It should get more damaged if it is left parked out in the elements. If it is not washed after each use. That being said, the in game cost of repairs for a month old tractor is way too high. I would send the machine back as a lemon if I had to pay $500 in repairs on a 30 day old tractor. As long as I take care of it. Of course if you services, as you point out, after each use, then the cost is much lower.

There are a couple of cost penalties in tractor wear - since the cost to repair is based on the purchase value of the tractor at new - if you use a tractor way overpowered for the equipment, then because a large tractor costs more, it will cost more to repair than a tractor more appropriate for the job (qed: don't use a quad-trac on a 3m cultivator!!). Conversely if you use a tractor way underpowered for the equipment, then you will find your operating speed limited, and thus it will take longer for you to do the job, length of running time affects the damage, thus again, it will cost less to use a more appropriately powered tractor for the job.
