Great video thank you. I tend to go and purchase straw from the shop. It says in the menu wheat straw but when I use the mixer to mix it then go to store it in my silo l, when I dump it, it says soy straw. And my pigs won't take it. Can you help?

If you put down a manure help extension is the silos tab it will give you manure for cows and pigs!!! Has to be extension only says so in help menu

As far as I can tell they eat more money daily than they increase in value? They eat like $60-75 a day and only increase in value $25/day.....

I think giants figured that out and made slurry and manure far more profitable. At least mod maps do. Methane and electricity is worth so much money if you use the modular BGA. Pigs make slurry fastest when you have them at 100% I’m pretty sure. I usually get my cows up and going steady and then I’ll add pigs later on just to add more slurry production. As long as I have enough extra money to buy fields to support the pigs food then it doesn’t really hinder me too bad. They won’t start making a profit until the slurry tank fills up all the way though.

Pigs do produce manure you must purchase a manure heap separate and put straw in the pen. Just a heads up for bio gas plant

Thanks for sharing this. The in-game docs said you could get manure from pigs. Wasn't sure if that was mistake.

That is correct just tried it out yesterday. You must use a silo extension next to the barn. The manure heap does not work.

Sorghum is just grown like any other grain, and cows are easier to take care of as they need less materials, you just need to take the milk away

This is just a guess but if it's anything like the pig pasture then it doesn't require straw like the barns

If there isn't a "straw" bar in the animal menu at that cow pasture, it doesn't need straw.

@@FarmerCop From what I can tell from reading the forums, you can only sell pigs. You cannot play "this little piggy went to market" because of Giants' child rating on violence, language and alcohol. I truly understand the drugs and booze, but food is a natural thing. :) It's not my call, and I'll support them for protecting the kids. I'm making my own dry fertilizer in a plant and I wanted a way to get lots of slurry and manure. I may test this and see if raising animals for their poop will be covered by the sale of fertilizer and the plant to make it. :) The Multi Crop Greenhouses Pack by GH66Mods is a goldmine if you want to have factories year around.

I do think that pigs should be re-done. A sow should produce between 8 -10 piglets in three months after breeding. So if you bought two pigs of breeding age, and take care of them. Then in a year you should have at least 16-20 more pigs since a sow can liter twice a year. As it is, pigs take a long time to really turn a profit. its one of those business units that can get forgotten amongst units that turn higher profit faster.

Its in the main menu in the animal section and proteins are soy, canola, or sunflowers

Never understood why you would buy animal transport. It would cost roughly 5000 to automatically fill up the biggest pen with pigs but costs 80000 to buy the transport. Youd have to have 12 pens filled for it to cost the same. And thats without factoring in the cost for 11 other pens. Then youve got the time to factor in there of driving to and from the animal dealer and loading/unloading. Maintenance costs for that on both the tractor and trailer unit. Affects the length of time for the "business" to become profitable with that cost. Youre already 80000 drawdown, compared to only 5k with automatic pen filling. Leasing may is likely the best option if youre looking at filling 3 or more pens (havent seen the leasing costs)

I went to feed my pigs in the pig pasture. I put in potatoes until it stopped. I then went to add corn and it would not let me. I looked at the menu for pigs and it looks like there is a limit on the total amount of food. Is that how it works now? You have to pay attention to the quantity of each food type you put in?

Look at the bottom of the list in the animal tab, there it says the percentages for the effectiveness. But the tank can only hold a certain amount overall. So if you filled the entire thing with potatoes your only getting 5% production. Have to balance the needed food with the overall container size.

In the bottom of your info screen for the pigs it say what crop you need for what % is that a mod or a setting. in my game it onley show al the things you can feed them.

Drive the trailer to the marker you use to buy the pigs, you should get a prompt from there or you might have to get out and click the marker there.

You can pull next to it with a trailer and load it in or take the pallet to the pig pen and it will unload when you are in the feed trigger area

Just go to the spot on the map labeled animal dealer, pull a trailer in the trigger area which is marked, then hit R on PC to interact with the menu.

I have the second largest pig pen. It does not accept bales, nor round nor square. I have no problem with crops or other pig food, just bales. Anyone else with the same problem? Any Ideas how to solve?

Pigs dont eat anuthing that would be in the form of a bale, they do not consume hay, grass, straw, or silage

Pasture wont require straw and make sure you placed the correct manure heap. There is a manure heap and a mamure heap extension, i believe you need the extension

You HAVE to use a manure EXTENSION not the heap. Two different sections in the construction menu.

Place a "Manure extension heap" and place next to the shed. Only shed works not open pasture. You cannot use a normal manure heap, has to be extension.
