    I know the video is almost 2 years old, and patches may have changed things since then, but the record needs to be set straight for 2020: Low *vehicle* condition _does reduce HP output_ by quite a bit. That doesn't change the maximum speed of the vehicle, it only changes top acceleration. This means two things: 1) Your vehicle will struggle more when pulling the same equipment, especially uphill. The top speed may not change, but the vehicle will struggle more to reach that same top speed. If the vehicle is very powerful, you actually might not notice any changes at all. 2) The load on the engine while driving will be higher in all circumstances (even when no implement is attached), resulting in faster condition degrade and higher fuel consumption.

  • @headrockbeats

    @headrockbeats

    4 жыл бұрын

    Also, the game code shows that the vehicle will waste more fuel (up to 30% more!) _on top of_ the fuel wasted due to extra engine load. Keep your vehicles repaired, folks!!

    I just did a little test. My tractor in much need of repair was struggling up a hill while cultivating. I decided to repair my tractor just to see, and it struggled much less, even hitting top speed sometimes. Flat ground, it worked the same needing repair or not. So it seems that keeping the tractor repaired CAN make a difference. Hope this helps.

    also if you make an underpowered tractor do a job its not meant to do, like say for example, make a john deere 6R pull the biggest plow in the game, its durability will crash faster than normal. so its worth the investment to get the right tractor for the right job. also the john deere's do suffer from wear and tear, however tractors with mud guards have a longer time before the rest of the body gets mud on it which means that the undercarriage, axles, suspension and wheels will suffer the most, if you make any tractor (including john deere) work until its down to its last bar and never clean it, you'll find that the mud gets all the way to the cabin glass and all over the lower body, grill and hitch mounts, once you wash it you'll find that those areas will have much more damage on them, but compared to the undercarriage, axles, suspension, and wheels, the damage on the rest of the body is more conservative. note that damage models for vehicles that have a lot of mechanical parts are different from tractors, like combines for example have internals that get worn and damaged after multiple harvests. this also applies for the harvester headers.

    I want to see some crazy realism with the repair. Like when you repair it, it will tell you whats wrong and charge you accordingly. (ie. a shank on a cultivator, tractor oil filters, a sheered bolt, a leaking hydraulic hose.) Further if you repair something, that specific component cannot deteriorate for a certain period of time.

    Thanks for this video Mr P very informative! Strange that the tractors on 0% condition are still 100% working, I would have expected issues (speed / hp etc). it took you 7+ hours to test that too. I'll not repair my current tractor and see if it has the same 100% working feeling at 0%. For any PC players reading comments, there is an excellent mod called "Enhanced Vehicle" it tells you the % condition of the attached machinery, Yes I know you can look it all up in the menus, but I never know what is what in that screen.

I saw some comments suggesting more fule usage do we know if that is true and is it a lot more? Just wondering why/if we need to replace a tractor?

  • @cameronkinnan6697
    @cameronkinnan66975 жыл бұрын

    You bring up some good points, i think the condition of tractors is based on looks, tractor runs like it got off the factory floor, but to me, i did notice that the paint around the bolts on the 3 point hitc thing looked like it was chipped off, maybe it was the lighting bouncing off the tractor, i don't know, because like you said, if the tractor fires up right away, go top speed, and use implements that goes top speed while in use. But awesome guide to as always.

  • @Dellenty666

    This might be worth a revisit? I have done some rough testing and I think tractors do loose HP when worn. The problem is it seems to be quite a low amount so unless you have a 150hp tractor pulling a 150hp piece of equipment is barely shows up. I’m also not sure they have added it to the JD brand. I did some tests with the Fendt Favorit 500 and this seems to slow down once worn out if trying to use equipment at its max rating.

    Another great video. What happens if you don't jet wash the implement but still try and repair it. Will it refuse to repair due to the dirt and if this is the case does it charge you still for the repair. Assuming it does repair with dirt remaining will further use add more dirt and increment the repair situation again. I suspect the tractor not degrading the same as the implements will be fixed in this or another update otherwise what's the point of having the repair system on tractors.

    I've had a seed drill on a tractor with 0 maintenance going uphill at around 3 km/h. Stopped on the slope, repaired the tractor (not the drill), ran it again and it went at 6 km/h. So there does seem to be a power loss with no maintenance on a tractor, but it's probably too small to be noticeable except in situations where you're already lacking enough power.

    Reading the patch notes for the last PC update, and then investigating further myself, I have established: - The repairs and maintenance ARE still linked to the cleanliness; however - Turning the dirt off altogether does NOT turn the repairs and maintenance off altogether, but instead only lowers it to a minimum level. Therefore, you can still adjust the repair schedule by adjusting the dirt levels, but you can no longer turn off the repairs altogether, like you can the dirt. Hope this helps.

    Hello Mr. SealyP! Very informative video indeed. You mentioned that the wear & tear is linked to the dirt, but it's actually linked to the dirt setting only - meaning that you can't reduce your maintenance fees by keeping your machinery clean (though that would be really cool, would add more than optical reasons for a pressure washer). Second thing is - if you had been going for a plow with closed blades, you could have told by the blink of an eye on how much color you already had scraped off of the blades what the maintenance condition of the plow would be. Same is true for cultivators and other ground scraping tools. The wear & tear is actually shown with how much color has been scraped off of the earth penetrating parts. Besides of that ... Whatever You should choose to do - enjoy doing it and ... Thanks for Sharing!

    I prefer to look at the vehicle menu in the options button (PS4) its the third one in from the left as it shows the wear in percentage and then I can make the decision to repair or not, but I have changed my dirt setting to slow.

    [Fixed] Wear speed if washing is disabled (1.2) That's in the last update they did (update 1.2) No idea what it actually means and what's the impact to what you just said As you said it though made sence ...no idea if it still does though :/ It's updated for PC already.Heard Sony will release it later. Giants released the update for all platforms so it's not their fault PS4 and XBox didnt had it on time

    Just means that wear and tear are no longer tied to the dirt level on items. Disabling dirt no longer nullifies wear and tear.

    Nice video, have watched several of your video's all very good & informative. However, and I know you have nothing to do with it, but the daily costs for repairs is very unrealistic. I grew up on a daily farm and during the summer months with chopping corn, mowing, raking, bailing hay if every time we took a piece of machinery into the field and it cost thousands of dollars by the end of the day to repair it I don't think we would have been in business long enough for me to even remember it.

    Farming simulator shows in shop full HP that tractor can get while at specific RPMs but actual tractor horsepower is 230 or 250 if its john deere 6R as you can read it from the hood of tractor, so these 280 and 300hp are just HP that you can achive while having right amount of RPMs, so you had less HP than this plough needed
