Cell saga is better in my opinion

In GT he’s gone full Earthling but it also looks like Earthling attire in the “shape” of his form Saiyan battle armor. He even cuts his hair (and mustache) which does pretty look good (but varies depending on the angle and artstyle). He even calls himself an Earthling with a Saiyan’s pride, fully completing his transformation.

@@Enerjjak and even then super’s canon is confusing thanks to the anime and manga being completely seperate continuities, so with there being two canons thanks to there being 2 different supers, you could consider the gt route the third canon.

I’d like to imagine that Vegeta keeps his gloves specifically because his pride as a saiyan is representative of what a saiyan can do, which is mainly combat. With his clothes his accepts his role as a resident of earth, but his gloves say that he still FIGHTS like a saiyan

But Vegeta did not regress in terms of his character at all in DBS. The Moro Arc especially shows this when Vegeta saves a Namekian child from Moro and shows Vegeta is remorseful for his past actions.

With how "spur of the moment" Toriyama is, there's no way in hell this was intentional. Toriyama probably just got tired of drawing his armor and went for simple armor, then simple clothing, then thought "Oh, Vegeta will be old by the end of Z, what do old people wear? I know, sweatpants!"

Compared to characters like Goku and especially Piccolo Vegeta changed a lot in his fit.

This is why I love his GT outfit. He completely gets rid of the armor showing that he's 100% accepted being an earthling.

Considering the weight of Piccolo's shoulder pads, I'm surprised they're not considered armour. That said, Vegeta having a special version of his blue undersuit without sleeves *just* for a single tournament seems silly. Considering he wasn't depicted in his armour in pretty much anything official for the time around or after the Boo arc until 2008, and that since this outfit has only been used as a training outfit (which it wasn't depicted as in the Boo arc), it's easy to draw the symbolic conclusions from the context.

Toriyama didn't have to ban armor for the tournament, why would he if not to tell this story visually? There was no rule against it in any of the previous tournaments. In universe it's because of the rule, but the writing reason is to show Vegeta's growth as a character

At this point Vegeta taking off his gloves is comparable to Gohan growing his hair out. It would work it just doesn't look right

Vegeta not wearing gloves is the equivalent of Sonic not wearing his gloves

You could also say that the armor is an allegory for him putting up emotional walls. He starts off as a proud prince, refusing to admit weakness or emotion. After his death on Namek and his growth as a person, he loses the armor and lets people see his true self -- eventually.

Vegeta only drops the armor temporarily because armor isn’t allowed at the tournament

His buu saga outfit wasnt because he wanted to change his style, it was because he couldn't wear armor during the tournament and the buu saga interupts that tournament.

Gotta give mad respect to the man in gloves.Although Goku defeats the enemy most of the time Vegeta does the dirty work so his gloves getting dirty instead of his hands is reasonable he deserves to wear them

I wish Dragon Ball Super kept this going. His outfit Bulma made during ResurrectionF was the best looking. But. I prefer GT Vegeta's design over them all.
