One tip, when making a secret room behind a map wall, i recommend having at least a 3x3 map wall and only make a 2X1 entrance somewhere along the middle row of maps That way to get in you have to jump to get in, so its hard to stumble across on accident.

I lock maps with glass panes to make custom maps for mini-games. For example, say you're making a haunted mansion and you want maps of each level. First build your house, then create a blueprint of the first floor in the sky directly above, lock that map, then do the next floor, etc. Now you have multiple custom maps that actually track player positions.

Used the map entry way for my base, since I already had a big map covering a wall I decided to build a room behind it, and since I made my base in a cave it’s impossible to tell!!

If any official Minecraft coders see this (unlikely) You should be able to put a map inside of a book and quill. You have to have the item in your inventory, and open the book. The book and quill will now have the layout of the bedrock version, but it also will have a new button at the bottom. It will be an "insert item" button. You click it, and your inventory will pop up. There, you can put an item from your inventory into the book. Up to 6 items can be put into the book. I'd really like to see this in the game!

You can make messages or wallpaper and lock it in the map block :) so you can get all the resources back you'vee spent building it and still can use the map for everything you want. Then that massive chunk is gone and doesn't look weird!

On a realm, I had an entire map room. The walls and ceiling were layouts of the land. And then I lost it when my friend attempted to give my other friend 9999 turtle eggs using commands, and broke the realm.

Making map art out of maps is a surprisingly cool and inovative idea. It bogles me how easily we miss the obvious.

Tip for the map: Use Glass Pane on the map on Catography Table to lock it, and you will able to make a permanent mappiece or prankster paper, so that when your friend dig down the useless base, the thing will still there

Bros like these map arts are cool and can do this who is going to take the time to build these patterns in survival

Disclaimer: if u have bad frames, dont use maps for ur walls, ur frames will die rendering all the maps

The main issue you left out is that item frames are entities. Have enough and it will cause lag. Plus, getting different heights on the map isn't plausible if you don't explain how high (or low) to offset.

fun fact you don't even have to use a whole chuck up to make these map patterns there's actually a website that allows you just to completely replace the map texture for specific numbered map so that it has that design that way you don't use up space in your world, at least i think thats what happens but it could just replace the chuck with whats in the map

@Tom4704 yes, if you dont have op you would have to do it the vanilla way, although you can save a worldedit schematic of the mapart in a world of your own then give the file to an operator in the server, then they paste the schematic. You just need to make sure they paste it in a spot where you can see the whole map art in the map

How do maps work? Like how do u get the diamond on the map and how do u lock them and stuff? I have just stared playing Minecraft so I don’t know how a lot of things rlly work

Maps are so cool! 🎉

The map is such a masterpiece that id be happier to find one of those than to find diamonds

but, wouldn’t the person be able to see their hand and hotbar when you try to do the “Joining World” one?

The map wallpaper idea is perfect if you make a literal Pac-Man maze wallpaper because that would be awesome and people would probably then just give you diamonds like maybe 64 even for like custom designing under like maybe an hour if you're good enough you could do that and run that business I guess in Minecraft

The "Joining World" will almost never work even with a respawn anchor or a bed coz its very high chances that the player will be in f1 mode... Edir: Make it the map that is fully blue, like when your chuks dont load... sometimes when I log in, I can see my hands, hotbar etc, but not see the chunks.... .the unloaded chunks map art will be better

You can also create an animation by having a red stone contraption that moves

Btw when u make a map do u have to first make it yourself then put it on the map?
