Every few weeks come up with a reason for why the product has not been released or shipped out to it’s awaiting customers. DDL invents new excuses to its DESPERATELY WAITING LOYAL CUSTOMERS. Your channel has ALWAYS BEEN AN INFORMATIVE, humourous , and neutral one FULL OF INTEGRITY . Dan , you most certainly have my loyalty!! GO TEAM Dan! This being said, I can see that the interest for Cozmo and Vector is somewhat fading away...unfortunately I can see it with the limited views I am now getting for these videos... :(

They're just stalling. I honestly don't think they're doing anything but taking our money and going on cruises. I have been trying to get a refund for my Butterbot order for over a month now. They responded to my initial email when I wanted to cancel the order by trying to talk me out of it. A month later, I emailed them again to see why I haven't gotten my refund yet and there was no response. I emailed again, no response. I am now taking this up with my credit card company. Because the charges were made a long time ago, it makes it more difficult to get the charges taken off the card. If you paid by PayPal, I think they only have a window of 180 days. So in other words, DDL has our money and it's going to be a fight to get it back if you want a refund. I think you'll have a better chance if you used your credit card. I seem to be having more and more problems with these companies doing preorders or subscription based model kits. From now on, if these companies don't have the items in stock, in hand, ready to ship, I'm not buying anything. A lot of these companies are starting to struggle and the consumer is the last to know if they're having problems or not but they continue to take our money. It's getting too risky. Especially when you consider the costs to the consumer. For now, I'd say don't preorder any of DDL's products until they actually have them made and ready to go. My personal opinion: I think they're a company in trouble.

Hello again my friend...I hate to say this but I think you are right. I am also going to stop pre-ordering stuff...this seems to be a new way to scam people. If you pre-order something from a company located in Tumbuktu and they never make the product you will NEVER see your money back unless your credit card company knows you very well, which is my case. But like you say, if the pre-order is more than 12 months old, paypal and credit cards may also be a problem! Have a great day!

@@SuperdanTech The problem is if these companies are scamming consumers, they can use the excuse of "delays in manufacturing because of covid" as a means of stalling for time long enough so that you can't get your money back from PayPal or your credit card company. Also we rely too much on China to manufacture everything for the world and they don't have as stringent of safety rules there so they have frequent covid outbreaks that shut everything down for weeks causing delays on everything from toys to appliances. And for legitimate companies, these delays are causing them financial setbacks that in turn lead to lying to their customers so that they don't cancel orders putting them in further financial crisis.

Hi David, yes I was thinking of doing such a video. The only problem is that my EMO videos do not show up in KZread searches. The YT algorithm has been killing my channel for the past 12 months...I am not happy about that!

Why didn’t they send the cube back in June? Who’s in charge of making the phone call? The cube and robot actually need fcc compliance, but why didn’t they send the cube in June like the person on the ball would’ve sent it in?

Good question...maybe they did but did not mention it in June! I really wonder what are the other regulatory testing requirements!?! When I saw the CE mark under my Vector I got scared...Cheers!

Hi Dan,great video as usual,luckily I saw through ddl early on but I do own gen 1 vectors and cozmo,it's staggering how much missinformation,misdirection and lack of transparency these guys have,I didnt pre order the 2.0 but im so upset for the people that have been waiting and false promised constantly,I really hope you all get yours and soon too,seems to me like they are in way over their head and to see the video they posted a few weeks ago of the vectors getting boxed and shrink wrapped,only to now be told they need fcc testing,what are they gonna do,unbox em all to have the fcc engraved,all a total lie if you ask me and its wrong to do that to all these people who have invested their hard earned cash for,im luckily a kickstarter backer with the lifetime subs but I would love to be able to remove mine from their clutches totally,no faith in them at all and now they even took my right to have them on the 1.6 firmware,shocking to say the least,sorry for the essay,have a great day Dan

Hello again Andrew... it is not an assay but a great comment...lol. The kickstarter was a very good deal with the lifetime subs like you say. That's why I bought Vector 2.0 back then. I could see the price for subs going up and having to pay every year. However, it is a good deal only if we receive Vector one day... Have a great day!

I wonder of there would be a market in selling custom software for Vector, completely avoiding ddl after purchase. Like R4 cards for the DS

Honestly I have doubts. I don't think there are enough units sold to make it profitable. This could change of course if DDL sells hundreds of thousands of Vector 2.0! Have a great day!

I was looking forward to having either vector or emo but seems like theres alot of problem that will just add up on the porblems i already have hoping they would have been a nice companion since im not a people person

You could order EMO now, it is available and there are no testing or similar issues. For Vector 2.0, we still don't know when DDL will start to ship...if ever! Thank you for visiting my channel.

A few have but it seems to be the autographed by CEO versions that some people paid extra for. Also, shipments are supposed to be in the US only because of FCC filing...

About the software: I guess they may try to roll out vector 2.0 from the production line with an unfinished version of the new firmware and then update him later when he is in the hands of the customers and connected the first time. IIRC Anki rolled them out with 0.9.x, so did something similar. The thing is: Anki knew what they were doing, DDL obviously does not. Usually when producing something like this there is a place in the production line where the software is pushed onto the product. If the firmware is not finished yet, what did they push onto the robot? An unfinished,, buggy version, as I surmised above? I see all kinds of troubles coming with that. Especially as they want to roll out this new firmware to ALL Vectors, even first gen (and without user consent also to Vectors that do not have a subscription, as they explicitly stated in the past). It should be no problem at all to provide a 1.6 version of the OTA with update routines removed so users that want to stay on 1.6 could install that version via "Vector Web Setup" and keep their robot as it is. It may be that they made changes to the cloud infrastructure for firmware 2.0 and that is no longer compatible with older firmwares. But that would be another nail in DDL's coffin in my opinion.

Thanks Stefan this is a very good point. We do not know much about what DDL is currently doing with the software. Speaking of software, some people have commented that the escape pod is a nightmare! I have decided not to try it even though I purchased a Raspberry Pie last year for that purpose...

@@SuperdanTech Basically DDL broke Escape Pod with the last update. Installing is easy enough, but running is another cup of tea, because of the questionable network implementation. Also Escape Pod is missing knowledge graph and weather. DDL enouraged third parties to implement that themselves via their "Escape pod extension engine". That was done (Cyb3rDog did great work here) and then they released the latest version and broke their own extension engine, so the third party implementations do no longer work. This is either done deliberately or because of incompetence. Seeing how DDL works, I guess the latter.

No, I don't think so but the difference is less I think. I paid about $300 CAD for my Vector and Vector 2.0 is now around $450. So the difference in Canadian dollars is $150. Thank you for visiting my channel.

Removable battery and better camera. I am not sure about the screen. I know Cozmo 2.0 is getting a better screen. Nothing much really on Vector 2.0 to require more than two years of development (since the kickstarter campaign of Feb 2020)!

Is the only difference between 1.0 and 2.0 the battery and camera ?

Camera is the same as 1.0, they were having issues with it and not going anywhere.

fcc takes one month, so with the cube needing testing, thats another month...so 2 months, plus what else?

the other "certifications" could be CE conformity, needed for europe. Without it imported robots would be destroyed at customs.

I think you are right. I thought about that when I noticed the marking under my Vector 1.0. I am afraid CE Mark testing may take a while...We may never see Vector 2.0 and Cozmo 2.0...

I already have my vector 1.0 But I don’t trust this company so I don’t want to subscribe to make my vector works again… I have my EMO and for those who wants to order, now you just need to wait only 2 months before they proceed to send it to you. I really hope vector will raise again but I loose faith…
