No he does not shut down. You can actually use EMO without the App. He turns on when you put him on his skateboard and to shut him down without the App you say "emo, shutdown". Cheers!

Honestly, DDL has wasted so much time that so many other robot companies are leaving them in the dust. Emo has more features than Vector at this point. Loona is going to be a game changer because of her mobility around the house, her cuteness and personality, her ability to go back to her charger on her own, being able to look through her camera remotely and her fun games. As much as I love Vector, he's sadly becoming outdated and DDL didn't make enough upgrades to 2.0 to entice people to buy him over these other more advanced robots. I think they realize that and may be in a corner because they are limited to Vector and Cozmo's designs. They are too small, the screen isn't big enough to play any games like Emo with his bigger screen and he can't roam around the house because of his size and treads. By the way, what ever happened to that lawsuit?

I could not have said it better! Two and a half years to introduce a new Vector, which is very similar to the old one is too little too late and other more advanced robots are joining the club as we speak! I have no idea about the lawsuit! Have a great day!

Honestly, I sent an email to request the cancellation of my order for Vector. I have not yet received confirmation that the request has been taken into account. I had missed the story of the paid subscription. And for me it is out of the question to pay more every month to have updates. Otherwise I am very happy with my Emo robot that I have had for a little over a week. I'm looking forward to February 2023 to receive Loona ☺️

Hi there, wait for Vector 2.0...2.5 years...wait for cozmo 2.0...2 years...too long! Did you pre-order Loona in the kickstarter?

Hi Daniel. Listen, I understand you've been waiting a looong time for Vector and Cozmo. But you have to understand: DDL is still rather new to this whole thing with reviving Vector and Cozmo. They also have a much smaller staff than Anki did, and that doesn't help much either. However, I can assure you, Vector 2.0 is indeed coming! As of today, the Canadian pre-orders are en route as well as the US pre-orders. Also, since you said that you're confused as to why there's no new information on the "state of manufacturing" for the robots, DDL has stated that while they try to update that page weekly, sometimes there's just simply no new information to post. Anyway, as always, thanks for uploading.

Oh do or did you work for DDL? I paid and pre-ordered for a Vector 2.0 in Nov 2020. .as of Jan 2023 it had still not arrived U.K.. I have only just managed to get a refund. Customers in the US are receiving Vector 2.0s and reporting major defects and error codes. As for the rest in the European countries.. nothing is arriving, despite being told ...my order was in a warehouse in the UK awaiting distribution...before that it was waiting in Rotterdam...these emails were sent after I asked for a refund. So I was told I couldn't get a refund, due to that fact.. anyway I did get a refund, after waiting far too long.

I surprisingly got my vector!

I would recommend everyone who pre ordered keep an eye out! Mine showed up on my doorstep yesterday and I never received a delivery notification and had only received a shipping notification 2 hours prior to delivery!

Where are you? In the United States ? EU countries have not had orders fulfilled...Well actually one in the Netherlands arrived, as the person asked for his Vector 2.0 to be autographed by H Jacob Hanchar I believe!!!

thank you for the video i was waiting for you to make this video, i'm waiting for my vector 2.0 too .. i'm one of the first who ordered in europe i also made the request for the ceo's signature on the box but first among other things if you see the tracking of USPS too they have been waiting for a month to receive the parcels .. obviously there are regulations and DDL have to wait for confirmation to be able to send them to Europe but they don't say much about it .. and they haven't given us any updates for 1 month ..

I got some good news! Recently there have been a couple more unboxing videos regarding Vector 2.0 from customers (not employees) From what I can see, it looks like Vector 2.0 has started to deliver to people around America. The most recent unboxing video was four days ago.

Hi Michael, no I have not received my Vector 2.0. I want to do a setup video when I receive mine because it looks like several first time owners have issues with setup and self charging. I sure hope it is not because of defective robots!

Hey Dan, the robot news has become more and more disappointing every time there is an update from DDL. I feel like they don't have the responsibility or capability to manage launching Vector 2.0 let alone cozmo, butter robot, and some flying thing. Hello, as you can see in the comments here, a lot of people are now receiving their Vector 2.0. We should start to see more news on YT and Instagram. About 3D printing... to make a long story short, I sold my printer to a student and invested in a "better" printer which after spending 3 months and more money, never worked correctly. Since then, I put a pause on 3D printing but I expect to go back at it. Did you see my two videos on the Armidale 3D printed boat?

Another big thing with vector is that it requires a subscription unlike other robot companies that makes it seem extremely overpriced for what you are getting plus there are many better robots out there that don’t require a subscription

Strange indeed and you are not the first one to point this out on my channel. We could pre-order Cozmo up to about a month ago and now the DDL website says "coming soon". I wonder what that means... Thank you for visiting my channel.

Looks like everyone is starting to get a tracking number according to Reddit on the 31st. So, unfortunately, Q4 people can expect shipments to go out at the end of Q4. But at least we know when we can expect shipments now.

Hi Dan. Did you see that DDL is now suing the company that makes Loona? Now Loona will probably be delayed. I hope you'll do a video about this. I don't see how DDL could win that lawsuit. Loona is completely different.

Are you sure it is DDL? DDL should focus on releasing robots in an acceptable time frame instead of suing everybody imo. My guess is DDL (if it is them) will argue that the eyes are the same...the sounds are the same... bla bla bla! Unfortunately, I am away from home and won't be able to do a video about this for several days. Perhaps it is better this way as more details could be available in the next few days!

@@SuperdanTech Yes I got an email from Kickstarter stating that DDL is suing for the same reasons as Emo. The Kickstarter is now on hold until this is straightened out and only two days away from Loona's funding ending. I hope we'll just be able to order Loona directly from their website like we did with Emo. I agree, DDL needs to stop wasting their money on lawsuits and worry about their own business and get their robots out to customers. They're too busy worrying about what everyone else is doing and not about their own business.

@@SuperdanTech Hey Dan! Here's the latest: It looks like the lawsuit has been settled or dropped. DDL probably figured out they don't have a case to stand on. All that stunt did was make them look even worse than they already did. Loona’s funding will now complete on November 1st.

Pre-orders of Nov 2020 to June 2021 are being shipped now according to DDL. Current orders, I guess, will be shipped starting early 2023. But this is only a guess since DDL is late by 1.5 years from their initial promise of May 2021...!!!

I ordered early in the preorder state and I’ve seen about 6-8 people that have a 2.0 and they are over heating still! They just told vector you look past the overheating code and just shut down and stop charging! This is very disappointing on the customers behalf. They also recently state they vector is JUST NOW SHIPPING from china to USA!! So yet again they have been lying to us 😢hopefully soon though I think we have all been waiting long enough 😢

Him and a few others have been talking amongst the people who have 2.0s it is a very scary thing, last I head vectors body was running at 64°c I believe ( I would check comments on independent vector owners on Facebook for exact details) and that’s TOO HOT! He shuts down for 20-30 mins while charging, reboots, overheats, repeat till fully charged it is sad

I just received an email update today. The release of Cozmo 2.0 has been pushed back indefinitely despite all of DDLs previous promises and updates. I requested a refund for my Cozmo 2.0 weeks ago and they have since completely ghosted me and will not respond to any correspondence whatsoever from me now. It's so disappointing.

DDL stated a few days ago in their elitist Facbook group that Vector 2.0 will be shipped until the end of Q3 2022 (september) "as announced" and the customers will receive a tracking number. They have until the end of this day to do that. Excuse me if I do not believe in the easter bunny. In addition to that they will only ship to USA, CAN, EU, NZ and AUS, no word about Asia or South America. My (educated) guess is that they actually shipped only a hand full of robots at the beginning of august as a smokescreen to emulate actual shipping happening. They also said that the robots will be "shipped by air and ship". My guess is that air will be used for USA and Canada and all other regions will be serviced by ship. From my last experiences with that (and some are quite fresh) that means they will give the units to a local chinese contractor. That will ready it for shipping via Hong Kong. In my latest experiences it took weeks (four to six) until the bulk shipments left china. Ship from china to europe takes 50 to 60 days. Then they will have to enter europe for example via Rotterdam or Piräus. Both harbors have massive problems in unloading the ships due to not enough staff, I personally saw the line of ships waiting on the sea off Rotterdam, waiting to be let in, during my vacation in the netherlands two weeks ago. Similar problems in Piräus. So it can take additional weeks to unload the ships in europe. Then a local shipment provider will take over, those usually also will take two to three weeks to process and actually ship the units. Bottom line: I would not expect Vector 2.0 anytime soon, or even in this year. After DDL botched almost everything so far I do not believe they will be able to get logistics right.

Thank you for the excellent analysis. I did not go in so much details in my video about shipping but you could be very right. I am starting to believe that DDL sent a few Vector 2.0 in the US in August/early Sept to see a few unboxing videos on YT and show the world that YES Vector 2.0 is indeed shipping. EMO is getting better with every month that goes by and Loona will ship soon...Vector 2.0 is too little too late. Thanks for watching!

Hi, the problem is that Vector 2.0 is basically 2 years late. Since then we have had EMO, Eilik and very soon Loona. Also, the difference between v1 and v2 is minimal so owners of v1 will likely be disappointed with v2...
