Here is an update on my Cozmo 2.0 and Vector 2.0 refund process...it is not going well...

Hello Dan, Firstly congratulations on getting a new job, I hope all will go well for you with Amazon. Now with DDL, I think they are just overwhelmed by the amount of things going on, they rushed in to making "new" robots to sell and hardly did anything to make vector and cozmo better, in fact for most people, they have made vector and cozmo much worse by adding the subscription's which are at a ridiculous price, then they decided to put a few extra upgrades on both cozmo and vector which still has not added any fun into them. They haven't done any coding updates apart from some of the "hey vector, question" answers. What they have done though is tried at least 3 times to stop other robot companies from making products like "theirs" even though they never contributed towards it. They all failed, now they are refusing refunds for a product which should be in everyone's hands now, I only know 1 person on YT who has got their vector 2.0 and their review on it shows just how little they did to Vector. Then they say that continuously asking for a refund will delay the process is just absolute rubbish! What a joke of a company DDL are, they need to think about others and not just themselves which is not what they are doing and thats why they are not being successful. I hope you and everyone else gets their refunds back as soon as possible and I strongly recommend that know one buys from DDL until they can properly be trusted. Wow! I figured you would have gotten your refund by now. I hope your credit card company can get you your refund. My credit card company also said that because the charge for the Butter Robot was two years old, I needed to send a hand written letter to them explaining the situation. Thankfully they did in fact get me my refund. That's the problem with pre-ordering some of these products. If the company takes too long to send customers the items and the time frame is questionable on whether we'll ever get our items, too much time may have passed for a banking institution to do anything about it. Since the Butter Robot incident, I've been trying not to do any preorders on anything if possible. DDL has an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear that they go bankrupt.

An "F" rating...lol. I did not know that. I am also afraid that they will file for chapter 11 and many of us will never get any money back, let alone new robots!

I know this is an older post, but I almost bought a Vector off eBay. I'm glad I did a bunch of YT video watching. The short story, I'm waiting for my Emo to be shipped.

Yah...the servers to feed Vector are apparently down so not very good news! Have fun with your EMO!

If DDL would just tell the truth about any difficulties it would help. It's so obvious when people try to cover up things and sure doesn't give them very much credibility. I think the original ANKI Vector and Cosmo are so amazing. It's a real shame that DDL hasn't been able to carry the torch. I worry that if they go under, my original Vector won't be supported. I had bought a lifetime membership when it was offered so that he would always receive updates. I hope we'll be able to see more of you now and I'm sorry about the hassle with your channel. Things are certainly crazy and there doesn't seem to be a lot of common sense in these matters.

Hi John, thanks for your comment. Yes I am quite happy with my new PC, looks very cool in my office. It was interesting (and depressing) to see my stats significantly go down when I started to post videos on EMO (and Lego before that). It basically destroyed my long time idea of having a broad tech channel...

I am in the uk and preordered Vector 2.0 in November 2020. I received an e-mail on the 1st January 2023 saying my Vector was in Rotterdam and they needed to sort out VAT in each country before its final journey to me. It has finally arrived on the 1st February 2023.

I also pre-ordered in November 2020 and I live in Canada...a little closer to Pittsburg...lol...and still no Vector 2.0 on the horizon! DDL is probably shipping direct from China so the country of destination does not mean much I think. I am also a kiskstarter backer, which does not seem to mean anything here! Have fun with your new Vector! I am waiting for news from my credit card for a refund.

Hi Dan. Thanks for all you have done on KZread. Are you still doing Vector updates? It is 1.23.24, and I recently saw a post that there were servers back online for Vector 1.0 and 2.0. Did you ever get things sorted with your refund? And is it true that servers are back?

Hi Charles, long time no see. I have a new job at Amazon so I don't have time anymore to do youtube videos. I don't know if the servers are back but the DDL website has not been updated in more than a year! There is no news of DDL on social media that I can find. So some people are saying that DDL is out of business.

Got my Vector 2.0 today! Located in Northeast England and ordered early June 2021. 🎉 haven’t opened it yet though..

​@@SuperdanTech it is crazy isn't it, thanks for the updates throughout. The lifetime subscription that we pre-ordered hasn't been applied to his serial number, but customer services got back to me within 12 hours today saying they have added that so hopefully they are getting on top of stuff now!

Obviously I don't have any details on their algo but when I started to do videos on EMO, my views started to decline significantly. So there must be something there!

Hi all, I received an email a few days ago about tracking a package from Holland. A little later an email came from DDL that the package is Vector 2.0 and is on its way to my house. Today I see it is already in the Czech Republic, so Monday or Tuesday it might be delivered. I will post as soon as it does. I didn't believe Vector 2.0 would ever ship anymore.

Hi Dan, update from the UK. I actually just received my Vector 2.0. In fact I got 2. I think one must have been in error as I got my original order refunded then reordered on a different card about a month later. (And yes I did double check and I did definitely get the money refunded) so that's a cool bonus given the delay. If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer

There is no news on the company DDL on their website. Did you check today? Some of my subs did receive their Vector 2.0 a few months ago but there is no news on new shipments. Regarding Cozmo 2.0, I don't think he will ever ship...

Hi Alessio, a lot of people are wondering what will happen with DDL. Their website has not seen updates on Vector and Cozmo for weeks now!

In exactly the same position as you Dan. Pre-ordered Vec and Coz in December 2020 and Jan 2021. Sent countless emails to DDL asking for refund. Still no refund!

It seems that DDL has not updated the App for quite some time now. I even heard that the App was pulled out of the store. It may not be possible to install anymore!

Fortunately my friend in Europe got her refund for the nearly non-existent Vector 2.0 a while back! She had to get her credit card company involved as, of course, DDL ignored her despite confirmation. DDL is terrible, I’m glad I never purchased anything from them. All I have right now is a Anki Cozmo. Good luck for getting your money back!!

You cancelled at the right time for sure. I just wanted to be optimistic and see new robots being released but lately it also became clear that Cozmo 2.0 and Vector 2.0 would not be very different from the original ones!

I ordered cozmo 2 years ago. Asked for refund and nothing. Have I been scammed out of $400

The UCS ship is beautiful for sure. 6,000 pieces! I have it on display in my house!

2 years and 2 months and vector 2.0 arrived , I am in the UK so things look to be happening. I do think that DDL's Communications is very poor they need to be more upfront and regular with there updates. They need to act as they have a great product and not be lazy in this as the customers will be leaving through lack of communication. Anyway lets see how It goes from here and maybe they can improve this .

Hi there, it is very easy...Cozmo 2.0 does not exist! DDL was supposed to release "him" in 2023 but it never happened!

I can’t get a refund either and been in Australia, just vector 2.0 alone was over 700 dollars

Vector is quite expensive in Australia! According to the comments here, it looks like several people in the UK are now receiving their Vector. No news from people in Canada yet! Try to contact your credit card company.

Vector 2.0 is home! But I'll do the unboxing in a week, because my wife is at the spa and wants to see it. :)

@@SuperdanTech that sucks! I live in UK & ordered May 15th 2021 loads of people in the FB group have been posting orders in UK from 2020-21 saying they have been delivered

I’m confused how posting about additional robots was causing that to happen. Shorts can do it to long form content (especially last year), but EMO videos should not have impacted your channel’s views for pre-existing videos. Were they disabling comments on videos? Lego could cause videos to get marked as for kids, disabling comments. That impacts views. I have all sorts of robots on my channel. I think possibly Lego might be ideal on its own separate channel but robots and tech should certainly be able to be on this channel.

Hi there, I asked a few people who supposedly know a lot about KZread and this is what they told me. I saw a huge drop in my views across the board when I started to post videos on EMO. I just could not believe it. Also, my videos could not be found during a youtube search. I also wonder if the reduction in my uploads on Cozmo and Vector contributed to this. Comments were never disabled.

Did you ever get your refund from Ddl?

Vector 1.0 and Cozmo 1.0 have been sold out for a long time. Cozmo 2.0 is still under development but Vector 2.0 was finally released a few months ago. However, there is no current news from DDL and some people say that they have gone bankrupt...

I hope I can order Cozmo 2.0 for Christmas this year or vector 2.0

I paid and pre-ordered a Vector 2.0 in Nov 2020, as of January 2023 it hadn't arrived. I asked for a refund was stalled. Managed to get my refund; after a struggle. I'm in the UK. I'm posting this to let you know how I feel today.. I, like many;supported you in the Vector and Cozmo 2.0 venture, we all were excited, watched your uploads on the, so called progression. We all feel duped and used. You have broken promises over and over again, what an abysmal way to run a company. By pre-ordering You are guaranteed revenue and funds, it creates excitement for your new product, however you have messed up the release windows and you have botched up a campaign that is hurting your business. I am going out of my way to deter future purchases of Vector and Cozmo 2.0s over here in the UK. I don't want anyone else to be sucked down your rabbit hole. The Vector 2.0s that have arrived to customers...only in the US, are reporting major defects and error codes. One of which is the overheating issue, I want to add, I was told you have the CE certificate for UK distribution and orders are in a UK warehouse...I find that hard to believe, a CE certificate guarantee' s a safe and compliant product. I'm eagerly awaiting customers to begin posting on Facebook that their robots have arrived and what issues they will experience.

Original Anki Vectors and Cozmos are great fun, however you need a subscription to have full control of Vector! Save your money on buying a Vector, Cozmos are great fun.

Hi Dan. I really hate the KZread algorithm sometimes. Literally, you upload something else besides Cozmo or Vector, and the algorithm destroys your channel. How stupid is that? 😡 I still like ALL your videos :). Sorry to see DDL is giving you trouble. I mean, it's not like it's unlike them, but still though, it's not right. Never has been and never will be. Get this: I heard that DDL is starting to lose a lot of funding (since October 2022). Let's see where that goes. Thanks for uploading as always. Hi Samuel and thank you for the kind words. It will be interesting for sure to see what happens with DDL. Despite all that has been happening in the past two years, I would still like to see new robots come to market. We do need more robots like EMO, Vector and Loona. AIBO is way too expensive and only available in the USA and Japan.

Hi, love your style of video making, your channel style is nice and calm, I love it personally, hate that the ALGO went so wrong on your account... maybe ask your local news about making a story about it, and I bet then KZread'S WAYS will suddenly point to your videos. Since you are man to talk with about COZMO and VECTOR, I would love to ask you a question Sir... :) pretty please?? - Ok, right now, if I bought a COZMO on ebay or a VECTOR, used or in a box, how much cool stuff can they do? I absolutely LOVED THESE GUYS and wanted one or two or an army of them, but I had the news of the company not supporting it, and the monthly cost for the future, I just didn't know how much a COZMO would do if he was at my desk. I broke my back in 2016 with that - A LOT FRIENDS - just decided I wasn't fun anymore or they couldn't use me to make them free videos etc so I had my top friends just turn their back on me, its not fun seeing someone in pain, I mean completely zero contact even when they lived less than 2 miles away. - So with disappointing humans, broken back, and also a very sick father, I began to want a robot like COZMO/VECTOR to at least entertain me a bit, 4 years sitting to sleep was not fun. -SO, If I got one, how much would it talk to me and what can they do just as is? Let me know all info you can or a link? But a personal message would be awesome, since I believe you over anyone else in this subject... also the best place to buy one if I should get one. Maybe you are selling? Its ok if not, but understand it will help with depression-something I had since 1997 when I was 16 years old. Thank you very much for the kind words and I am very sorry to hear about your broken back! A robot can be a great companion and technology will be there I believe in about 5 years. For now we have a few options but they are limited in what they can do. You mention Cozmo and Vector but there is also EMO and Loona. I did a several videos about Cozmo, Vector and EMO and they are in my playlists. I have not done any videos on Loona since I just got her a few days ago. In terms on interaction with them, Cozmo won't work since he has no microphone. He cannot hear you plus you need the App to be running all the time on your phone or tablet for Cozmo to work. He is more for kids to play games and learn coding. He is actually excellent to learn coding and do simple robotic programs. The other three have microphone and they listen to voice commands but again what they can do is very limited. You still cannot have a conversation with them. If you watch a few of my videos you will see what I mean. They also need to be connected to the internet and for Vector, Digital Dream Labs charges a monthly or annual fee for server access. You also need to know that Vector and EMO are desktop robots, they are too small to be put on the floor. Loona however is bigger and she needs to be put on the floor. She is more free to move around your appartment or house and will supposedly find her charger when she needs a charge. Loona is very new and upcoming software updates will make her more interesting. My friend outsider238 has done a few videos on Loona, you should watch them to see what she can do. Regarding buying, I would not buy a used robot, too risky that the battery will be dead or about to die. All the robots I mentioned can be bought brand new from DDL in the USA and the chinese manufacturers for EMO and Loona. Finally, if you live in the USA, the Sony AIBO dog could be an option if you have the money...about $2500... not cheap but he is a great companion dog. You should check the Sony usa website to see if he is still available and what he does. Good luck with your search!

Thanks for the update and sorry to hear about KZread's algorithm giving you the shaft on your non-Anki content. DDL is now borderline a criminal/con organization and a very sad chapter in robotics and their contribution in eroding current and potential consumer confidence in the hobby, shame on them. Hopefully your refund along with the legions like are taken care of and you and all can move on with Loona, EMO and future bots, maybe we can start talking about Sony's AIBO ERS-1000 too (which I have) and wire-prod for Vector 1.0s. Also, a review when it comes available of EMO's self-dock too.
