The Vans Verse seems to be almost the same boot in 2025 as it was in 2024

I tried them at a local shop and they felt great, next season test pair. I missed a bit more of stiffness, but they wrapped around the foot and the ankle extremely well. I rode them for one day and the only issue was the weight, but that's something that many people don't care about. But again, the way they adjusted to my ankle and my foot was really really good, and I think you can forgive that little lack of stiffness when the boots adjust so well. But we all have different feet, so it was just me. I am lucky that I can test lots of gear before buying it, because with boots, you are always taking a big risk.

Glad they work for you. Did you try them with the inserts in the tongue or do you just like a really stiff boot? Yeah the weight wasn't that noticable riding the mountain/taking lifts but if I went hiking or touring it would be.

Hey james. Are them more or less heavy respect to infuse boot? And how much?

Sorry but I didn't weight the Infuse when I reviewed it. If memory serves me correctly I think its lighter but still on the heavy side.

What board would you recommend to someone who loved the Burton Tricky Pony?? Thank you!

That was a fun board for the time. Burton doesn't have an equivalent to that right now. Maybe these if they fit your specs. They are different but about as close as you can get. Power Wagon, Cardiff Crane, Yes Standard Uninc, Jones Aviator 2.0, Endeavor Pioneer and 2025 YES Basic Uninc. I think the 32 Jones pro model were the first ones to have that feature. Take a look.

2025 Ride Deadbolts, 2025 Ride Lasso and 2024 Ride Torrent have calf adjusters that are more for accomodating different calf sizes vs touring like this Vans and the Jones.

Yes but been enjoying the Bataleon Acid BOA boots coming out next season. Trying to decide between the two. My take is up on Patreon and YT Members.

@@thegoodridesnow yep I’ve been up to date, Bataleon acid could be me too because of wrap liner, I really like the boa harness on the fuse as there are no hot spots, if they were a touch softer I’d love them.

Thanks for joining up! Greatly appreciated. Yeah I'm so torn. The Deadbolt's flex doesn't seem to last as long but it fits better and is 0.6lbs lighter per foot. The Acid is a little too wide before the ankle and it's hard to tighten there wtih the BOA. It's also maybe 1/8-1/4 size too long and I'm worried about how much it will pack out. The Fuse's are great boots but they don't loose their flex easy. They also don't have much shock absorption. You might like the 2025 Deadbolt because it has a new bottom BOA harness that completely wraps around your ankle vs. the 2024 that only partly wraps but it depends on how much you ride.

BOA sucks. I was a big fan because I had a pair of Ride Insano with steel BOA, and it worked amazingly well. Then after almost 3 seasons of amazing performance, the Insanos got destroyed and tried other boots. This time the Ride Lasso Pro with textil cable, which they claim to be as resistant as the steel ones. BS. Inserts ripped out, and cables ripped, after not even 90 days. They didn't even last half the season. Then I had a pair of 32 crab grab BOA, textil also. The inserts resisted but the cables all ripped at the same time. I contacted BOA because they've got life guarantee apparently. This was 6 months ago. They never sent me the replacement. I had to go to a local shop, thank god they are friends and have got steel replacements, and they fixed them because I can't be without boots, because I am an instructor. 6 months and I am still waiting for their response. Those were the last BOA boots I will ever have. No more. I have bought a pair of Deeluxe Team ID LTD with flex boosters and they feel absolutely great. I don't know how are they going to perform till the season starts, obviously, but I don't want BOA anymore. There's a big problem nowadays with boots durability though. I don't know what is happening since the pandemic, but all boots seem to be lower quality and more expensive. Especially Ride was really disappointing, and not only because of the BOA, but because of many other issues, and especially because their Insano are the best boots I've ever had.
