What's really sad is that once he retired his only focus was his kids and tried to make up for the time spent away. He didnt evne watch basketball until his daughter brough him back in because she loved it just as much.......this gets to me every time. Loved Kobe, my first sports idol and only celeb i've cried over.

Man, stop with the comparing please. Kobe is Kobe. I know it’s not intended to be rude, since Jordan is a Great. Regardless, Kobe is another one of the Greats. He’s a legend. He deserves to be remembered as Kobe, the black mamba, 5 time lakers champion, 81, 8,24. He doesn’t deserve to be remembered as “the guy who was closest to Jordan”. They’re two legends who were named the greatest ballers of their time. Two separate individuals. We should keep it that way.

I’m still a mess a week after, and probably always cry every once in a while. I grew up watching him. I pray that God surrounds the Bryant family with love and peace. I hope all the families feel the love we are all sending to them. I pray the lost souls have peace.

I cannot imagine the pain his family must feel, never to see him smile again, hear his laugh, or feel his touch... It breaks _my_ heart, so I can't fathom how much it hurts those who knew him as friend, father, and husband, and Gianna as a friend, daughter, and sister. I can only send my thoughts and prayers their way and hope that all the good times captured on video like this one are able to bring them some semblance of peace... Even though I know for some time it will only make them hurt worse. I hope Kobe and Gianna's family can find it within themselves to move forward yet never forget this wonderful, strong, intelligent, loving man, along with his beautiful, talented, and loving daughter. It still feels so surreal to me... Horrifyingly surreal.

This is the video that broke me...I saw many videos and interviews of him..other athletes..crying..I was tough..but this video..seeing him enjoying being a girl dad..broke me..cried like a baby!

Weeping. 😭 I never knew him, and he wasn't perfect, but in his latter years he truly was the model father and husband we're so sorely lacking. So tragic. He left a loving legacy. 🙏🏻❤️

There was a mom, dad & their child that was on that plane. I wonder if there was other kids that lost all three of them. (mom dad and sister) only if they wouldn't have been cleared to fly.......can't believe no one is talking about that. They shouldn't have been cleared, being the pilot didn't have certification to fly in them conditions. So senseless & sad.

& fyi, I am one of those ppl that think they didn't get as much attn as Kobe & daughter, & how that would make me feel if it were my family and all that gets talked about is a famous person and his. I have made other comments and always try to include them. I don't think they are getting enough attn about what has happened to them as well.
