This is actually the first song I learnt on a guitar 😊

There's something about the line _"it's high time that you love me, _*_because you do"_* that hits me pretty hard. Like damn I miss not only feeling like I'm loved but also being able to be all super confident about it and such that you can be like "We both know that you love me and I love you, let's not pretend like that isn't obvious".

Hmm I guess if you remove the blanket that kinda describes what I feel about this song in particular. Because I'm unclear if it's a positive or negative feeling, maybe both, all I'm sure of is that it's powerful and make me feel things. Both the song and the accompanying video feel very passionate.

i was looking for 'im with you' by Avril, but i accidentally cliclked on this video and boy, this was the best error that i ever did

I saw two women met , fell in love, built deep trust (the blindfold part) , and one left, the other one was left in pain. I like how Vance uses his music to discuss something that people would not associate with the lyrics with in the first place. The surprise just reminded me of how deeply rooted the stereotypes were. The moves are generally common of contemporary dance - the contact improvision part, and the blindfolded forest walk, and the broken body lines at the end are common motifs.

This is also about the twin flame journey..that was her higher self.. the one who believed in her and guided her through the darkness but also knew she had to stand in the middle of the field alone to truly find herself and feel that unconditional love was always with her. ........I feel extremely grateful for this video.

And this is clear example of how you can crack a great acoustic song with electric effects of studio. I love the acoustic version of this song ... is more fresh and have more feeling.

I agree, Ive listened to the acoustic since the release in February, but this has grown on especially the last verses high notes be harmonized, changes the feeling from his voice being isolated and cracking on the acoustic. I now frequently listen to both

Both versions are sensational in my opinion.

I feel a little late for this song. I heard it a while on a road trip with my best friend a month ago. We were driving through really green and forestry type of landscape and I kept thinking to myself that I wish my girlfriend was there to experience it too. I later listened to the song on my own to really hear the lyrics and I kept thinking of a lot of first experiences I had with my girlfriend, like the lyrics of the falling asleep to the storm outside. I remember falling asleep with her for the first time and how natural and comfortable it felt. The song, lyrically is just so beautiful. I kept thinking to myself I ought to learn it and play it for her. Sadly, I never got the chance to. We broke up last night and I didn’t have the courage to listen to it just yet. But I woke up and couldn’t go back to bed. I played the song and balled because I never got to take her to that green place but I also remembered how I’ve lived the lyrics with her so I felt better but then remembered that I never learned the song to play for her on guitar. So this morning I got out of bed and wanted to learn. But I, assume it was because of my state of mind, blanked on the song title. I just googled Vance Joy and saw the music video icon. I never usually watch music videos but decided to finally watch this. Immediately, I felt a familiarity, because I myself am a female swimmer. My ex girlfriend and I both loved the color blue, she swam too, and is shorter than me as well. That alone made me cry but also smile because of queer representation. The more I watched I realized this was exactly how our relationship went. I opened up immediately (loosing the swim cap) and showed her my true self. It was beautiful in the beginning. As we opened up more to explore new places and ideas she got in more her head and wouldn’t let me in (blindfolding herself). I tried to do the best I could because she wouldn’t tell me what was wrong or how I could help. She would say she was fine so we would proceed, me not knowing she was still blindfolded. Finally we came to an end last night. Now, I’m not as strong or quite as resilient as the swimmer in the video because I wasn’t able to walk away with grace like that, but the sad thing is, I know I’ll be able to a lot sooner than my ex will. I know that she will stay there struggling with herself for a while, just as the woman did in the video. This was a beautiful work of art. If you read this entire thing, I appreciate you and I know I will get better. I just hope she and other people who struggle with themselves find peace.

With this song I feel in love with the most beautiful person in the whole world. It was never too soon to know that I want to be with you, and a piece of my heart will always be close to you

Someone who has been through the darkness can forget to see the light...and then someone comes along who reminds them of who they really are at heart...and that trust and vulnerability develops which opens you up to pain you never wanted to face alone. They help you face that pain and then they set you free to discover who you really are. Physically they leave because unconditional love does not enable ..but you will never forget that kind of love. It will always be with you. Because it is you. And in time, you will be able to do the same for another who needs to find their way.

Thank you for showing this beautiful women all natural with hair in their arm pits. For me it's the story of some love relationships. You start letting someone else be responsible for you, for your path, for your feelings. Then life takes that person away. Then realise there is none there but you. You see again but don't know that you already have it all to make yourself happy, and if you don't know that the next time you see someone you will still trust them better to guide you than yourself.

art often leaves us asking questions, which is the beauty of it. some things. like art and love, can not be considered in a rational sense anyhow, so you'd be wasting your time trying. it didn't make a love of "sense" to me either, but it did bring tears to my eyes.

This is what I understood after one watch. It shows the beauty of solitude and companionship. It shows how both are unpredictable. Apart from this, I felt it was somewhat about metamorphosis of love, in the broader sense of the term. I got both, platonic as well as romantic vibes. This was a beautiful video. The imperfections, the nature, all of it was mesmerising.

This video is truly an example of humanity and the raw creativity of nature and love. Absolutely brilliant song and video.

I took away that the other girl is her play self, her fun self. The original girl is her working (sporting?) self. It shows you are only truly happy when you love what you are doing for a living (swimming in this case professionally). Start shows she is not having fun swimming, but finds inspiration and fun again but then its over, shes too old and is only left with the joy of swimming (original girl disappears) and she cannot do it anymore.

I think It´s About a Girl that´s gone through much already (dirty feet) but can handle it by Swimming and doing Sports which makes her feel free. Then she notices there´s a part in her that can make her happy without working and that is more oriented to Looking Beautiful. They become Friends. After a while together, there Comes a Phase of thinking and the Beautiful girl loses her hairband, the Symbol of Beauty: the industrious girl blindfolds her friend with it and Shows her that life can also be beatiful if you don´t care About how you look and more concentrate on how you feel. In the end, the Beautiful part is left alone but has changed - the hairband is gone, without her friend she can´t feel AND can´t look Pretty anymore so she sinks into a depression…

Yeah what's the deal with that? It's annoying to listen to it with the 40 seconds of silence in the beginning and near the end.

Im so mad of how underrated is this!

For me this video means something different. I think the first girl doesnt swim for pleasure and she decides to run away to do what she really likes and what makes her free. The second girl represents the part of her who wants to be happy and to make what she wants, so she represents her heart. This one takes her and frees her from these concerns. Together, the 1st girl is in agreement with herself and makes what corresponds to her, because she "follows her heart" (follows the other girl). However, the 1st girl has to leave and to give up the other girl because she has to listen to her reason and not follow her real nature. Then, the 2eme girl is alone and ignored by the other one, just like an idea repulsed in a corner of her brain. Alone, she struggles to try be listened, but.. So, The 1st girl finishes the rest of her life without having carried out what she wanted and without having followed her heart.

The starting of the song represents the present after she is now all by herself again after leaving her love behind. I will call the one in the lighter blue you and the one in the darker blue me(for easier explanation) I was a person who was open to exploring and I loved both land and water and even as I explored I never lost my way to myself. I loved to explore and I loved to feel everything but everyone is not like that and I learnt that after I met you. You came into my life out of nowhere so unexpectedly but then you got close to me and you slowly removed my cap in an attempt to get to know me. You took me into your life, we explored together and I got to know how you are and who you are. You were nervous if I wouldn’t like you and there was silence for a while midst us because you were really scared as you waited for my response but then I came back looking for you because I loved you for you. Now it was my turn to show you. I took you to my life and I put my life before your eyes for you to feel it(the blindfold is dark blue shows that it is a part of me) I tried making you feel it but I could see that you weren't feeling it. You weren't there, there was some kind of disconnect I knew you were trying really hard because I could see it but you couldn't see that I had realized that as you were blindfolded, too lost in the my life. You could not connect because you were nothing like me but I could connect but that isn’t enough because a relationship involves two people and I wanted you to understand me too but I didn’t want you to lose yourself in the process and then when I left you you were angry, frustrated and sad because you didn't know the reason why I left you but I did. It was for both you and me. It was for us. because you loved me as much as I did but you could not connect with me as much as I connected with you and that connect is very important in a relationship
