Van Life: At 55 She Met "Darkest Night Of Her Soul" And Changed Her Life
Ойын-сауық
#vanlife, #rvliving,#solofemalevanlife, #gloriouslifeonwheels,
Have you ever looked at your life and decided your present wasn't what you wanted for your future? The part time senior solo female van life enthusiast in this video, Lulu, did just that and drastically changed her life. Included in that life change was a diy minivan conversion that allowed her to use her imagination to create a tiny house on wheels that best suits her needs.
In this video Lulu shares some of the details about her decision to build out her tiny home minivan. In a follow up video coming out in a few days I will do a tour of Lulu's minivan. She constructed a brilliant diy budgrt refrigerator that I know many folks out their are going to duplicate. When I saw it all I could think was, "Now why didn't I ever think of that when I was buying ice and dealing with soggy food when I first started traveling in my van before it was builtout!!" If you have a brilliant idea for a refrigerator or any other item in a diy build do share it in the comments.

So glad she's living her best life now! I'm 71. I don't have a van, nor the money to purchase an RV, and wishing to win PCH is getting old, ha. ☺️ I sometimes get so tired of the demands on my life, just want to escape! She is encouraging me to do so, just a few days a week- from babysitting grandkids, taking people to work, running neighbors to the store, and listening to my sister's loud TV, etc. Headaches. I just want some precious me time alone, even if it's in my tiny Nissan Versa Note! I can see myself in my car at an RV park/ Resort. Will need to get a few things though. EX: A cassette potty, foldable 4" memory foam bedding, 1 or 2 burner electric eyes, a tiny microwave oven, some type of black out window screens, saw a 23 qt fridge on sale, and a jackery with Solar Panels, 200- 500 Watts etc, But DOABLE! YES, I'm getting excited, I Believe I Can Do It Too! 👍

I love it that this woman took a look and decided that her lifestyle was NOT what she wanted for her future, and she did something about it!! Thank you so much for sharing her!!
I'm 55 and yeh, it's dark in my soul right now. I have chronic health issues and don't see any real options, though I could probably take the seats out of my old Jeep Grand Cherokee and camp outside Walmart. This was inspiring. Going into my prayer closet now as I know God can make a way before I implode internally.
I met the darkest night of my soul and Jesus changed my life delivered me from addictions and more.. I don't even feel like the same person. Still on a journey and the road is narrow but leads to life.
Gotta love Lulu. She’s as authentic as can be.

She's adorable, sweet and humble but I hope she will at least consider a high top for her posture as she ages. A shorty Ford or General Motors high top van does well in the city because they can park anywhere. She can go up to 20' in length and still roam most cities freely. Hello 👋 how are you doing?
What a great story! Bravo to her for going for following through to sever ties with alcohol, smoking and selecting healthier food choices. Very inspiring. I lost a Dear friend to alcoholism. It was so painful to witness her downward health journey and ultimately losing her in the end. Thank you for being so open to share. Take care
Lulu is someone I'd like to be like if I were younger. Time seems to pass by and if a person doesn't persue what we really want to do, then we can find ourself just barely living. We have to sometimes just stand up and do what we really think we would enjoy in life or life will just drift away. Age has slowed me down like I didn't know it could. But Lulu shows us to get up and get doing. Thanks for an incouragment to do so. Thanks Carol for taking the time to do what you do. From Central Oklahoma
I'm in tears right now, and I don't want to be a downer. I lost one of my dearest friends since we were 15 and she couldn't beat that alcohol. She was 57 when she fell off her parent's steps onto a concrete pad, head first and never woke up. Her brother passed of the same disease not a week before she did. She always wanted to travel with me. I'm almost finished with my van. I am so very happy for you Lulu to have made it to this point! This lady is smart I agree with that that's what I would do don't sell the house or if you do downsize to a smaller house and if possible rent it out to your family members they make money on it while you live out of your van and travel and when you come back you have your base which is your house you're so full time but you can travel more and forth especially when you're retired you have all that freedom instead of staying in the house like normal people do you can travel after your camper van for months and months and then come back to your base whenever you feel like it..

Hello 👋 how are you doing?
I bought an old trashed winnebago 2 years ago and sat it on top of a hill on my sons Arizona land. I ended up having total hysterectomy to get rid of endometrial cancer. My son was going to gut it and make it my tiny home that's off grid. I decided to move away since I didn't feel good. Now, I'm 67, lady thinking about getting it fixed up with everything I need to survive. I want to get it finished in a years time being my son works and can only work on it after work. The issue is that I dont have a lot of strength and feel lethargic most days. I'm wanting to not deal with landlords anymore. I'm a little worried that I am too old. Do you or any single senior ladies have any words of encouragement for my adventure. Hot summers, cold winters, beautiful sunsets and sun rises, healthy air to breath and a lot of privacy and a lot of lone time with my dog, a son that might live with me and my son who lives over the hill. Please let me know if there are groups or chat with like minded crazy ladies! Thank you. Annise C.

This lady made a point and I couldn't more agree. especially as you get older in your sixties .l highly recommend you get a stand-up van or a high top van because as you get older you don't want to be crouched and bend down around in a minivan. because you will pay for that down the road with your knees and your body as you get older.. so I highly recommend you got to stand up van for your body who does van life so they can stand up and walk around and stretch themselves in their Vans if it's raining or snowy day you don't want to be in your van all day bending down or Crouch down you will pay for that on your body will pay for it down the road as you get old especially if you are tired that's just my advice really..

What I'm beginning to find out is a lot of people are starting to do what I do and live alternatively but live at the events part-time and have a base that's how I do it I wasn't have a base as a backup rather than just live at the van full time and not have no way to go if anything happens to my vehicle so it's always good to have a base that doesn't mean you're not evangela you just have a base to go back to if you choose to at any time.. as I do.. but my base is just a small room I rent as well as a base..
