I met Van Damme (and Dolph Lundgren) last year for the 30th anniversary Universal Soldier reunion in Manchester, UK. He was by far one of the best guests I’ve ever met at a convention. Great energy and enthusiasm with the fans. That says a lot since he had literally just flown in from German Comic Con the day before. I asked him if he got enough sleep on the way over, and he proceeded to give me an entire lecture on how he sleeps haha.

I'm only 7 minutes in, but definitely much respect for anyone to follow their dreams. Especially wanting to be an actor, somewhere else with no money, and laying carpet and manual labor. I don't care if people say he's not a fighter or whatever else bullcrap. He had a dream, he stuck with it and that's a feat by itself.

Great Interview! In every interview with Van Damme, He makes it sound like He went to America alone and did it all by himself. The truth is that if he did come alone he would have went back home within a week. It was Qissi that was building Van Damme's confidence. Every time they hit a rough patch Jean Claude wanted to go home. Van Damme was very blessed to have a friend like that in his life. If it wasn't for Qissi we would never know who Van Damme was. Does Qissi go into the " No retreat No surrender " Story? Congrats on 100K subs. Hard work pays off. Keep up the good work. Your flying now!!
