    Valkyrie at 160 ft? You’ll get better results from a Roc or a Buzzzzzzzzz every time. This disc is made for twice that distance.

    JK Pro Valk 172g! My favorite disc ever! I could throw it as far as most other guys were throwing "distance" drivers. I once chucked it over 600 ft in a wind storm. It would do incredible S turns, even in tight quarters. Such control and it just seemed to actually "fly" when you threw it just right. One day I threw it all wrong right into a pond! Damn I miss that disc! I'd buy another one but they want $75 for them these days!

    Jk valkerys have been out of print since 2004-5. Jk stands for Juliana Korver a professional woman disc golfer who won world titles in 98,99,00,01 and 03. Five time jk valkery would have started printing in 03. I am from NC so we golf hard down here. I personally like to pump valkerys on a hyzer flip low and fast, i can strech a flight out about 360-365ft.

    If you're going to demonstrate a distance driver, it's probably best to not do so at the pitch, and putt, and it's going to fly much differently then if you throw them how they're supposed to be. I could hyzer-flip that thing from 6 o'clock and it would still finish right (RHBH) LOL

  • @Mysterious-Outdoors
    @Mysterious-Outdoors3 жыл бұрын

    With that sort of a distance I would most likely throw a putter, possibly a mid but not a fairway driver let alone a distance driver.

    This appears to be more about how to play these particular baskets. Ignore the hazards? Not sure that is good advice. In reviewing any disc (I did not see the other 2) I would think that it would be good to go over the flight numbers of the disc being reviewed and what it means for that disc instead of only the plastics.

    Hey Ivan. I saw you today at Giles Run. I enjoy watching your tutorials. I've really been trying to get my Valkyrie to do what I want it to do, but then again, none of my discs really do what i want them to do because I'm not that great. I purchased a Viking which has less turn then the Valk in hopes to have a little more control since they are supposed to have similar flight paths. Well, I lost that Viking at Giles Run so I'll go back to the Valkyrie next time out. Lost two more discs today. That's four in two days!

I mention the Viking in my upcoming video tutorial shot at Burke Lake Park. It's a great disc. Very straight with a little turn at the end and great glide too. That video should be up next week. If that first shot got you within putting distance, you should be throwing a midrange or putter on that hole. Kinda hard to call this a review of the Valkyrie when it's a speed 9 and you're throwing it at maybe speed 5.

    Excellent video of real life situations. These lying nimrods who think throwing 600 feet (in their imaginations) don't know that throwing long shots does not win games. Being able to negotiate trees, ponds and other obstacles accurately, without overthrowing a disc, is how you win. I beat these young punks who claim to throw over 400 or 500 feet ALL THE TIME with 60 foot putts and turns around trees they can't do. And, no, they can't throw as far as they say they can. Farther than me, but it does not matter because they can't hit spots. What you are reading here are trolls and liars making up distances for the internet. I see it all the time. Guys online claiming to throw 400 and 600 feet who can't reach 340 with the wind to their backs when you finally meet then beat them in person. Keep up the good work.

    Throwing over 400 feet isn't as crazy as you make it sound. The sport is growing and capturing the interest of some of these youngsters who would otherwise play other organized sports. Some have serious raw talent and are making improvements to their game rapidly because they're not doing it just for the fun of it, they see they can come up quick and become pro very rapidly

  • @caseysmith544

    @caseysmith544

    7 жыл бұрын

    Just because a brand has discs you can't throw with does not mean that they make bad discs. I can throw Innova discs, 50% of my bag is Innova the other 50% is Discraft with one Lighting U-2 Upshot in Prostyle plastic. Not true, they make some good discs, the problem with some like the KC Pro was that each time Ken won a world championship He asked for a tweak in the disc both the putter and the Roc. This is why those discs are so inconsistent now is that the discs are going off all the tweaks at once. the Paul Mc Beth R-Pro ones are more consistent due to the fact that he has not asked for tweaks to the disc since Innova made them for him 2 years ago. The standard discs In the low end DX plastic other than the Aviars, Aero and Rhino putters are garbage. They still make the higher end plastic discs just fine, the Champion and Star plastics are still great. I have not tried the R-Pro is is like the Pro? I mean it feels about the same. I got a Star plastic Valkyrie about 4 years after my original Champion one in same weight and as soon as I threw it during an Ice Bowl I found it flew the same. I know that Innova is cheap with the DX plastic as are most companies with the lowest plasic due to the fact they are trying to now get people to buy the more expensive plastics. However I can use one disc a Stingray in DX plastic I got last year just the same as the other DX Stingray I have, I just use the disc when trees are not around. I also use a DX Dragon for water shots and long downwind shots that have little to no trees in the area. Other companies like Discraft do the same thing, about the time I was switching over to the Hard D Magnet They stopped making it for about 6 months before I could get a second one. Now the D plastic is a bit inconsistent from Discraft. Also Discraft has made some discs in the X plastic or Z plastic in limited edition because I was looking for a Z Magnet or 2 for driving but it is sold out; Discraft however for the most part will let you know on the part saying what disc plastic it is if the disc is Limited edtion. Sometimes they do not like with the Z plastic Magnet or the X putt'er in Z plastic. Also some of the Ace Race discs do not get produced I think a XL Comet from the 1990's was one my uncle has but will not throw. The company made it as a disc with a different name like the Stratus or something and it flies a bit differently too. I got lucky with my Ace Race disc that is an ESP Impact that it got put into production and even more lucky that the new ones fly the same as my Ace Race one when other people say the Production ones fly differently than the Ace Race ones. I think breaking in the production of an Ace Race disc is something one must do, as the Ace Race one got broken in during the Ace Race, getting hit by the basket etc. You also need to know that any company that makes a disc in a Hard type plastic is going to have wear over time due to use. So a new one might not be exactly like the old one you had, try to think back to when it was new. The company that has the most confusing and different changes from what I have seen on KZread and from people with in plastic runs is Dynamic Discs, in some first and second runs the disc changes from overstable to understable in the same plastic type. Also Dynamic Discs has some plastic types fly very differently from the other and it is the exact same named disc.

    All good points. I was stating that the really good discs they come out with they make very limited number runs. Then the generic are geared towards the masses. When most people and players would rather have the more limited stuff. That's all I was saying. I agree that they don't really make a bad disc. Some of my best discs are the factory second discs. I love them. They basically either have a screwed up stamp or didn't meet specs. They fly great.

  • @caseysmith544

    @caseysmith544

    7 жыл бұрын

    I agree some of the best discs are from the limited runs or now discontinued discs. I know a player that has to leave a Innova DX Rhyno in the sun during summer for the whole day or microwave for one second to get a new disc that is like a soft Rhyno. I know I am going to replace my Pro Shark with a Star Shark in same weight as my Pro Shark. I found the Star Shark grips better than the Pro Shark I have. I recently got a Star Shark about 175 grams to replace one that was too lightweight I have both the Star and Pro Shark at about 175 grams. I found the Shark is a approach disc/posible very very long putter in that order. I too got a Factory Second on my replacement ESP Impact. All that was wrong was a ring in the stamp of the ESP Impact was incomplete, fixed that with a silver Sharpie.

    When I throw the Valkyrie, I inevitably get a roller. No way can I throw it forehand at all unless I purposely want a roller. It's extremely predictable that it will be a disaster every time I throw it. You're right about clear discs. I wasted so much money on clear discs and red discs which you can never find. They are now in the trunk of my car. I can give them as presents if the receiver is into disc golf.

    Why are almost all of your disc's DX plastic?! After you hit a few trees they will never be the same and your Valkyrie looks pretty beat up also Valkyrie is overkill for a 160' hole you should be driving with a putter on this hole, go out an play an entire round at this course with putter only, this will make you a better player in the long run.
