    @@Halbared With wrestling stories, the LEAST LIKELY story is bound to be the truth, because wrestlers are PAID to lie. Knowing Vader, he could be dangerous if angry, but always quickly realized "oh shit" afterward since he was fearful for his career-- with good reason.

    They were so jealous and threatened by Leon's ability that they sabotaged his career. Even now they won't induct him into the Hall of Fame. 400+ lbs doing moonsaults off the top, only to have hbk call him stiff. RIP Leon! You will always be the man!

    Vader Brecker I've known Leon since jr. high. We played in the same defensive line in high school. A total ass kicker, who worked harder than anyone else, to make himself into something great. Not an easy guy to know, he could run hot and cold, but ultimately, a good dude who you HAVE to respect...he won't have it any other way.

    I met Tonga once, he is the sweetest guy, all about his family and generally being kind and easy, but even now as an old guy the air of potential danger there is very palpable still. Not a guy to disrespect or mistreat people around.

    I remember seeing Orndorff and that nerve damage issue he had with that arm - it was quite visibly smaller. I find it hard to believe that Orndorff could hurt Vader - Vader's just so damn big...

    @@RageOfTheTiger Tony Shiavone was right there and confirmed that Orndorff beat the piss out of Vader, and that Vader initiated the fight. Orndorff put him down on the ground and stomped a mudhole into his head while Vader was screaming for someone to get him Orndorff off of him. He spoke about it on a WHW podcast with Conrad Thompson.

    Orndorffs' side of the story, along with the "witnesses" has changed. Orndorff says he had sandals on. Tony Schivone says he had regular shoes on. The story changes means, the story is bullshit. I think at this point, Vader's side is closer to truth than Orndorffs.

    @@jumbothompson According to Buff Bagwell, Orndorff took Vader down, but Vader got back up and was clearly dominating him. The fight was then quickly broken up when it became clear Vader was going to seriously hurt Paul if the fight continued. It's true Vader was never the same after this because he went to the WWF and was buried by Shawn Michaels, then treated like a joke.

    Paul Orndorff was my grandfather's cousin (Kenneth Orndorff). I never met Paul unfortunately. By the time I was born 1983, Paul was a star and busy with wrestling. My grandfather too died from throat cancer.

I don't believe Orndorff was in any shape to hurt Vader; on Wrestlemania XXX, he needed a cane to walk, and Gene Okerlund had to identify him because he was not recognizable to the audience, even though Roddy Piper and Mr. T were.

    Many wrestlers have said that Paul Orndorff was a legit badass. Vader was no doubt tough as he showed in some of his matches over his career. you never hear about any backstage fights or outside the arena involving Vader. The stories of Paul Orndorff fighting have been confirmed by many wrestlers and he noted as one of the strongest from his era. I believe Paul Orndorff s story before he passed. Yes he had injuries that severely changed his body but a true fighter never gives up or back down from anyone. Vader was retired and he should be humble and admit he got his as s handed to him.

    I love Big Van , and I love Mr. Wonderful. But at the point of each of their careers at this point, Vader was bigger and stronger. Yes he performed stiff, and did a lot of bully shoots, and Van has admitted to that. But Orndorff was lucky to still be breathing. Just my opinion. Orndorff’s health was shot.

    Yes the old wrestlers up to 1989 were jealous of Vader because he was way more talented than most of them. Jim Ross said they brought Vader into WCW because they needed physicality and toughness. WCW and WWE really had no idea of what to do with Vader especially after they brought Hogan into wcw.

    I think Orndorff had loyalties with some of the guys they didn't want to burn him.I believe Vader's story yea he took some boots but totally beat down don't think so plus like he said Paul was hurt.Many were jealous of Vader he was stiff and he was getting paid$$.Vader was not one of the boys.

    That was a big mistake getting out of a six year contract. He went from being an unstoppable monster in WCW to Shawn Michael's bitch in the WWE.

    I always thought Orndorff's story was suspicious. I'm sorry that Vader's reputation is still sullied to this day by this story. I'm glad he at least got a chance to put across his side of the story.

    Oh, how Vader was misused at the end of his WCW run and his entire WWF run. He was extremely talented and had a great character and persona. I think both he and Sid Vicious (He'll always be Vicious and not Sycho Sid or Sid Justice to me) were dealt bad hands. Both of them featured prominently in the WWF Attitiude era would have been nuts. Vader v Foley, Sid v Taker, and various combos between those four would have been fantastic. Vader in HIAC would have been brutal. I could see him going up top but falling off would be another thing

    Rubber hoses are used to pump up before events by bodybuilders and often wrestlers. The provide a little resistance and get blood flowing into the muscles. He's not talking about something you tie on your arms like Warrior did.

    I've heard Eric's response to what happened that night. He took Paul's side of the story. Plus Vader went back after him after the meeting and Paul took him out again. Even with his crab arm and wearing shower shoes.
