#Molecular #Spectroscopy: an introduction to #UV Vis #spectroscopy #Beer-Lambert Law
The definition of UV Vis spectroscopy, or spectrophotometry, is the study of how matter interacts with light in the ultra-violet and visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
How the Beer-Lambert law relates the intensity of transmitted light to the sample concentration? How resulting spectra are analyzed to obtain the desired values and common spectroscopic applications in various industries such as chemical sciences?

Nice vid, but the benzene story is wonky. The max is not where you say it is, but more importantly, the individual bands are not caused by different pi - pi* transition, but rather by overlap of vibrational wavefunctions, (Frack-Condon) that exist in each of the electronic states.
