My amazing model Aspen is back in this EPIC photoshoot by the pool with My Blackdish!. Being an On Location photographer to me, means that you should be able to go outside anytime any place anywhere and create amazing images. Not only that, you develop the ability to use anything you see outside to create amazing photos. Today we did a photoshoot pool side, using random items, like the fence, chair and lounge chair to create incredible images. 3 Raw Images link below. Last images being shared. I really like seeing the compare/contrast of the RAW verses Edited shot.... well done, looks like you mostly got it right in-camera. I'm looking to do more off camera flash. Your channel has some great info. Look forward to seeing more.

5:27 f1.4 only 1/4 power. Just a kiss of light on her looks great 7:16 show us the Raw first! When I first started shooting with an ND filter, I thought "this looks like shit" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It was too dark, but here you see how you can bring the photo up and its looks excellent 7:40 Yes tell them but make it fun like you did; don't discourage the model, especially new ones. They might have an attitude the rest of the shoot!

The shot that I wanted with her “standing” on the water did not constitute me getting in the water to get the shot otherwise I would have if that is what I was going for. I look forward to the day to see you hold a light up and get in water up to your neck and shoot :)

Awesome shoot.. amazing model… I’m a big fan and supporter of your work.. I’m also a new owner of The Black Dish.. My request is can you do a comparison with the ring flash vs the strobe/soft box On a photoshoot. I really haven’t seen that type of comparison… I’m more of a strobe/w soft bow type of photographer.. But I’ve seen a lot of well know photographers use there Ring Flash for there publish work. By Big Gus from NJ

The only time a ring flash is even remotely usable in my opinion is at a wedding reception or if it’s dark. That’s not something I would use on location or when it’s bright outside. Not powerful enough
I would have gotten in the water. IJS. 😂

The blackdish is Bowens mount only. In the future we will be looking to add optional mounting. I think you are also the other person who had something to say about me on another post saying like " you showed people my work and they laughed". Listen fam this is KZread so I don't do petty immature back and forth. You don't wanna support that is ok I didn't ask you too. My business is doing great. I don't really care for one disrespectful person. And the last thing I am going to do is entertain someone online with nothing but bad intentions. I could care less. My work speaks for itself fam. @@BrandonColePhotography yeah Brandon I get it there are a lot of mounts. I get that bowens is one of the most popular. A lot of us studio guys and gals are profoto or Elinchrom. I belong to a profoto group, there are a lot of studio pro photographers in that group. I get that there are rings out there that let you connect bowens to profoto. I prefer just to swap out the speed ring. Whenever you add those additional, please let me know.

@@BrandonColePhotography if you are going to quote me then quote me. I did not laugh at your work, I laughed when you said a strip box is just a hair light. I have used a snoot for a main, along with a strip or octa’s in different sizes or umbrellas. Modifiers like lenses as you know are just tools. No perfect tool for the job. Healthy back and forth are productive, immature and defensive back and forth or assuming you know me from a KZread post, not so healthy. Peace

On a bright sunny harsh day you want to be able to achieve the full strength of power from your strobe. Once you get into HSS, you cut the power or your strobe. Use an ND filter to stay under your camera flash sync speed to use all the power available from your strobe
Everything is great, however I don't think anybody needs the shaky b-roll shots of the model in the beginning.

Lol its all good there was a little video issue as it wasn’t set to 4k60 like normal. It was in 4k24 but it’s fixed don’t worry lol

Anything over 1/400 of a sec is HSS

This is what I don't get, we can now go over 1/8000 with HSS, so why stay at 1/1600 max & use an ND filter ?
