In this tutorial by Dave Bode we will look at how to use the Korg nanoKontrol 2 to control several different patches in Reaper. This will be a great tutorial to get some ideas of how to harness the power of great sounding virtual instruments in a live playing environment.

thanks a thousand dave. you are a genious. Very nice your pads and combinations. I have the nano kontrol 2 white !. I bought it a long time ago thinking that it would be used to control MIDI. and I see that it is. subscribed, like, and bell! Thank you very much.
Thank you!
So you cannot control more parameters than the actual hardware knobs on the device? No scenes, or banks or midi channel change to use the same fader for different controls?
how did you import presets so quickly by clicking param (around 12:30)? PS, re reacontrolmidi.... doesn't reaplugs have it?
How can we use midi keyboard like arranger keyboard I want only one sound on one click for solo.. if I select 1st track than I don't want other tracks on . Need to know How to change bank and patches on click like arranger keyboard
Is the "learn midi" only available on apple? or a specific version of Reaper? I am using reaper 4.52 on windows XP and when I right click nothing comes up.
Dave, This video, and part 1 are so great. Thanks for the help. I actually bought 2 nanoKontrol2's after watching part 1. I wonder if you wouldn't mind a quick question. How is the nanoKontrol2 configured in Reaper when you are using it in CC mode? Do you just leave it as a control surface using Klinke's Mackie driver, or is it set up somehow as a MIDI controller? I made the Korg Kontrol edits you show here, and have it in CC mode, and set up as a control surface with the Klinke driver, but I can't get it to "midi learn" anything. It will work fine if I set it as the MIDI input device on the track, but I'm sure that's not what you're doing here. Hope this question makes sense. Thanks again for the videos.

Delete the mackie control Klinke control surface from options - that's for Mackie Emulation mode - here he is using CC mode (to change into CC mode hold down Cycle and Set Marker at same time on nanokontrol2 just before plugging in USB cable and that'll change it into CC mode) Cheers
ur a great keyboard player btw...lol its just amusing how much noise ur keyboard is doing. im usually listening for monitoring at a lower level than ur keyclicks. anyway great video even it is a bit too fast going but i will watch it a second time. im using cubase 7 and this controler seems to fit my needs for outdoor sessions. i saw u have alot of other tuturial videos ,,,, but i guess most of them dont apply to me cause im not using reaper anymore. dont like the ckeckbox clicking orgy.
Helpfull video, i would be easy if i knew how to play the piano
what are you playing at 21:13? i really like it

mapping data is stored as part of your reaper project
