Using Homemade Road Drag to Repair Rutted out Yard
This homemade land plane works great for projects like this. Is this something you could use on your homestead?

Tidying up is a good thing. Keep up the good work.
Mike, you take pride in the things you do when you use your hand made drag to smooth the ground. And besides, it makes the area near your shop and pond look much nicer. Blessings to you.

He's one of those ole' boys who, If he has a free hour or two he's working on something. Ya gotta love that kinda guy.
To me anyway, there is nothing more satisfying than using a tool or a piece of equipment that one has made and having it work well, that being said I should think you would very happy with performance of your drag/ grader, I sure like it, thanks for the video sir.

I like how you give her a love pat on the hood when your done. I do the same thing to mine and don't even realize it sometimes. I have a 755 too. Recently was very fortunate to buy a low hour 955 to go with her. I'm a Ret. Capt from Rescue 10 in Charlotte NC and love spending time now on my tractors and watching good videos like you have on your channel.👍

I was going to say something witty and memorable, but I forgot. Looks good from my house. Cheers Captain! Oh, it was the stuck in a rut VS filling in a rut, almost always helps to smooth things over before you tread and wait for things to settle. #lifelessons #lifecoach
Closing in on 6k on a 2nd channel not bad Michael not bad for a fella just trying to stay busy. Don’t forget 🐶

I’ve seen you use that drag many times but todays video was especially pleasing and rewarding. Weird that it always seems enjoyable …but it does. That drag is an amazing implement with, what seems to be the perfect amount of disruptive pressure and bounce to chew up clods. Kudos to you for making the time to “interfere” with productive work to make your content more interesting. For some reason, today I was aware of many times when you had to stop and get off your JD to move rocks and roots …then the epiphany. You are also taking time to set up the camera to capture these moments so WE can go with you. Thank you for that !!
Thats a nice machine and grader attachment! Great job! Amazing how much work can get done with a tractor.

In regards to the lawnmower that won’t run, I find the best thing to check is the bolt under the float bowl that goes up into the carburetor. It’s supposed to have holes in it that feed fuel up from the float bowl into the carburetor if those holes are clogged, no fuel and engine doesn’t run. It may or may not be the problem but it’s always a good place to start I find. I learned this trick when I was trying to get a lawnmower, running and rebuilt the whole carburetor to find out that that bolt that holds the bowl onto The bottom of the carburetor was supposed to have holes in it for the fuel to go through. Before putting all the parts in the carburetor cleaner and let them soak, I couldn’t see any indication of the holes. Later, when the engine started running rough I pulled the bolt out to find it had gotten clogged up again and let it soak a little longer before Using the spray can carburetor cleaner, and the straw that came with it which led me to found out there were three holes that led up to the top of which I had only uncovered one the first time. OK you may want to start to check if there’s spark, but the big three for it to run are spark, fuel and air. In my experience, though, I find that bolt getting clogged up with gas varnish is more common than the ignition system failing and it being so choked for air it won’t run.

The best place to start is make sure it has gas 🤣

Mike I'm going to make suggestion to you would you drinking up all that old wood and find some good tops well even though it's got rims and rocks why you make a shaker table where the kids could shake out the good dirt and get up the rocks the tree limbs that are big so you have good dirt for your beautiful wife above-ground farm area I know you can build one and I know you got plenty of wood to use and I know you got some extra chicken wire alright this is Bob from. Vero Beach Florida God bless and have a great week
Would like a short video to see how the chickens are doing, and the friendly turkey.
Great job great video thanks Mike

A good friend of mine has always said if you can manage 1/2 an hour a day to do the small stuff, then the big stuff will be easier to deal with. I never understood that until I retired, it's amazing what you can get done in 30 minutes. Your place is looking really nice, thanks for sharing. 👍🤗

@@Kleeman1 cheapest I found was $1200 used. Yours looks to be holding up well without replaceable cutting edges. Those alone are a couple hundred each. I guess it’s almost as easy to just cut out and weld new angle in when it wears.

It’s odd to see the 755 and 555 parked back at the “shop” after working…I thought they were free range machines and lived in the woods?

Nice work Mike the place is really shaping up.When are you going back to your brothers property to get it dialed in?
Are you going to add a ballast rack to the road grader? An equipment owners best friend can often be a trash picked weight set (almost as easy to find as a free treadmill lol) It’s kinda too bad there’s not a down pressure piston on the back connections.
👍👍👍
How is the little bit of lawn where the chickens used to be at the back/side of the house??? 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧

Not gonna lie I didn't think that would smooth out them ruts quite that easy but I was wrong. Would a hydraulic top link help you with that drag or is it pretty much a set it and forget it kinda thing?

That 755 of yours is a work horse. Or should I say, you turned it into a work horse. And you sure don't mind working the bejesus out of it. Maybe a brief video overview/tribute to your 755 is in order detailing all the things you've done to it is in order. Just sayin"

Idk Captain, worrying about aesthetics seems more of a feminine atribute. Since they tend to care what others think more than guys do. They like things to look nice as well on general principle. Afterall if it wasn't for women we would still be living in caves happy as a clam, 😁Are you sure it wasn't your better half saying something about the aesthetics to you?🤣Teasing aside, it looks really nice . 👍
