Using a Blending Board or Drum Carder to Create a Gradient and/or a Selt-Striping Color Shift Yarn

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I've had this video on my list for at least two years and I am really glad I waited, because I was able to do way more, and show much more than I probably would have when I first had the idea. We'll be using a drum carder, and a blending board to create gradient batts, and rolag/fauxlags to spin gradient/color shifting yarns that may or may not be self-striping yarns too. So cool! The other two gradient blending videos I mentioned are right here:

I love these videos. I taught myself to spin long before the internet (or personal computers!), but then didn’t spin for many years. My interest in spinning resurfaced a couple of years ago. I only have hand carders and really don’t think I’ll go for a blending board or drum carder, but your videos are inspiring me to use my carders as a blending board. When I first started spinning I bought raw fleece and did natural dying, but now am happy to just spin from combed top or roving. However, I love all I am learning from the internet!
