I have very painful health issues as well which I was born with. They, so my doctor assured me (!), will only get worse!! This is my challenge and I work with my body and do what I can when I can. So, I agree with you, and anybody else with health issues, I say take care of yourself and listen to your body.

Nice video. I think it was in “Respect the Spindle” where I read that we lose 1/3 of the twist when we ply. So, having some degree of over twist in singles is not a bad thing. The author also wrote something to the effect that …having ‘pigtails’ on your spindle is OK.

I'm really sorry about the health issues, I know that pain very well. Sending all the good vibes I can so you can get to your most comfortable and painless self as soon as possible and able to do all the things you want, and in the meantime I hope those sponsors can give you the time you need to rest. Seeing your videos lights up my day, but being healthy is most important! I wish slowing down the speed on my spinner gave me thicker yarn, but all I seem to get is yarn that immediately gets thin again and that I have to hold back for ages until it builds up enough twist T.T

Whatever health difficulty you are going through, my best wishes and hope you recover soon. Your health comes first. This video is very useful. I have only had my Ashford Kiwi 3 wheel for few months and the whorl has 3 grooves. I've been using it in the larger diameter groove. The large wheel also has 3 grooves and I have it in the middle groove. I'm very new at spinning in a wheel, though I've spun in spindles for 6 years. I'm planning to spin in all the combinations of ratio, I can do with this wheel. Experimenting is fun. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Thank you for sharing this information. I recently realized that my treadling speed and my whorls could work together for more comfortable spinning. I learned to spin on my Ladybug and had purchased an additional whorl (slow) as the larger one that came with the wheel was still to fast for me to get down all the movements. As my skill increased I began treadling faster, which was not wonderful for my hips for prolonged periods of time. Going to a smaller whorl can allow me to slow down my treadling speed while getting the resulting yarn I am after. I’ve been mulling over all this and your explanations put it all together with a nice little bow on top. Please take care of yourself. Our thoughts are with you ❤

Book reviews? Um… YES, please!!! You recommended “Women’s Work”, and it was super interesting. Especially so since I’m also reading the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series to my kids right now. I know it doesn’t seem like the two would go together, but trust me. The former is like a “history nerds companion” to the latter. 😂

Thank's for the video !!! It's strange that so many people have health-issues right now (including myself)... ...best wishes from Germany. 💚

I love you. Please take care of your precious self!!! I enjoyed this a lot, as I’m quite astute at spinning very finely, but next I want to try a thicker one!

I would love to Have you do a book review. This would be very helpful and we would gain more knowledge on a which books would be helpful to us spinners. This would also expand our horizon and possible interests. Love it.

I love the way you explain things and show examples i have already learned so much from your videos. I am a new spinner and just started trying a different speed whirl mainly because I needed more twist on the BFL i was spinning thinner than i had been and it worked perfectly instead of increasing my peddling speed.. 😊❤
