How to train 2-5-1 progressions.
Funny story. I'm a pro musician in Boston, USA. I just did a gig and I played the "James Bond" chord while I was checking my gear. My drummer said "what is that chord?" which I promptly said "it's an E minor Major 9 chord". he loved it. So I ended every song that night with it, lol. The crowd seemed to love it (thats a Jerky Boys line). anywho, kinda dumb story but I enjoyed doing it.

I miss my amazing days back at Berklee College Of Music… What a great music town (at least back in the day, when there were so many live clubs and recording studios)
I freaking love the way your playing sounds. It's like you make music even when you're trying to just show a person a scale.

Lovely comment - thank you so much Fred for your kind words
The way you can remember and recite all these different forms of these cords and 6th and 7th and different things is completely mind-boggling to me
Thanks for the references to Vertigo and the James Bond Theme, two of the best examples of movie music.
This guy is an AMAZING teacher!
This is a great, tense scale for when I am practicing piano and should be doing something else. I'll call it the procrastination scale.
Amazing instruction of connections between the basic harmony and pitch choices in jazz with great simplicity and clarity!
Beautifully and clearly explained. Thank you!
thank you mate, that is the one scale guarranteed to give anyone virtigo ! I really appreciate these videos filling in so many blanks about jazz for me !
Great job mate.. One of the best piano videos I've seen in a while.
I love it! Thanks! Bernard Hermann waa a musical maniac!
Now I’m singing “As Time Goes By” from Casablanca. Love this. Thanks. 💜
great story, feels like you should turn it in to a movie. you are a great inspiration to others. I subscribe to a few of these, but you give me the most useful tips, and with the easiest, clearest explanations to how and why it works. great stuff

OMG, he played the lick so many times
Jello Julian, Nice video! I was wondering which keyboard you are using and if you know if there are any VST's that sound like yours? Thank you for all the videos, have helped me a lot!

Hi Alex, I'm playing a Roland RD 700 SX, but the piano sound you're hearing is from Keyscape's Spectrasonics - which I have open in Logic X.

I just realized this piano did sound different than some of your other videos. That keyboard you are using has some really good sound, Thinking about getting it. Thank you.
that last comment might seem out of context, because it moved to the next video just after I watched your story lol, but never mind, keep up the great work
Cool. You actually hear this sound a lot in hip hop mainly due to sampling of old soundtracks from movies.
This scale his similar applications to the dorian scale. I love it.

Yes - the minor 6 chord could also be from the dorian scale. I'm glad you liked this one Amjan!
