Use the gear you ALREADY HAVE.

Hi everybody!
We made it - we finally hit 1000 subscribers! Thank you so much!
In todays' video, I am sharing some loose thoughts around the subject of gear acquisition syndrome, never having enough and appreciating what you already have!
I am currently facing myself being somewhat creatively blocked by incredible stupid G.A.S. attacks, searching for excuses to not get stuff done and having crippling doubt and buyers remorse in things which actually should cheer me up, so I thought I'd ramble my thoughts out. First time I am sharing such personal thoughts on the channel, hope it's all coherent and makes sense! ;-)
Would love to hear about your experiences with this subject - let's talk!
The tones which you hear come mainly from Neural Amp Modeler and the following packs:
High-Gain - 6262-LD-M77:
tonehunt.org/PippPriss/0048fe...
Clean - Dan Lombardis Fat Jangle AC10:
tonehunt.org/dickjonesify/d40...
Not the IR used, but very similar and still great sounding (Marshall 1960AV via t.bone MB75):

I always wait to see if I still want the piece of gear. 2 weeks or so usually. I have pretty much everything I 'need' anything else is just a step sideways.

Rightfully so, I am currently much more thoughtful of my gear purchases. Gotta keep that impulse in check!

Great stuff Phil. THAT's something I try and do more lately these days, enjoy the guitars and pedals I have. Or in many cases, enjoy the plugin I just bought. And it doesn't always have to be new to be awesome. Pretty much all I want now is a nice jam out loud rig. I almost always use sims or a modeler through monitors or headphones. Time for me to buy a new bass sometime soon too. Cheers

Thank you for the kind words! It just was a thought I had on my mind since a few days and which I had to spit out there! 🙂 And there are investments, which make total sense. But gotta be careful to not fall into that cesspit of "buying addiction lite", as I call it.

Truer words never have been spoken. It's kind of like the IR rabbit hole - you got thousands, potentially tens of thousands of 'em, but you end up using 2. But finding THOSE 2 is quite the journey! 🙂

Haha, I hear you there, and in fact I have no problem owning a lot of stuff - most serves a purpose. But at times, I am SUPER paralyzed by the options I have. And another aspect, if you always jump on the next hype train is that you might end up with a lot of mediocre things instead one incredible thing. I love my Bugeras, but they all have reliability issues, and sometimes I wish them all away and instead ONE EVH 5150. But I can't sell the Bugeras because of the reliability issues 😀 It becomes a vicious circle at some point But me being so mad at myself for buying the G112 Plus and thinking to flip it back to thomann for Money-Back was really a trigger, where I was asking "Why the F* am I not satisfied, even though I really enjoy this thing, wanted this thing for about 3 months and finally got it?!"

@@PippPriss Well, the Bugeras are definitely NOT a lost cause. You would just have to take the time to find a first class amp tech to mod them for you. From what I understand about them, there are just a few key components that seem to fail regularly. Replace those components and POOF your Bugera is reliable. As far as the cab is concerned, why second guess yourself? If you love it, you love it. If you don't, you don't. Just send it back and continue the chase. You'll know when you get something you love. Know how? You'll LOVE it! :D Trust your gut.

@@MeTuLHeD Bugeras are unfortunately a "lost case" currently because not worth the investment of a tech, nor the time to figure out on my own the schematic to resolve my channel switching issue. But not that dramatic since I use the ToneX live, the amps are just for jamming. On the cab, you might be right. But I might eventually just get money back and not re-spend it, but hold on to that money and eventually save up for something cool. Still indecisive, so let's see 😂

Yes, but it might take some time, since I have to do some other videos first. I guess in about 3-4 weeks it'll be out. :-)
