I love this. I’m a great nephew of a US soldier from the 96th Division that participated in the Battle of Leyte when General McArthur returned to the Philippines. He went on to survive countless incursions and battles with the Japanese there. He unfortunately lost his life when they were reassigned to invade Okinawa later the next year.

My late dad fought side by side with your boys in Corregidor until its fall. He endured the infamous " Death March" from Corregidor to Camp O'Donnel in Capas, Tarlac with shrapnel wounds to his face and back. Never talked about it but he best summed up his ordeal this way: "Hell is here on earth"... 93 yrs old when he passed away, I couldn't think of anyone else with that much grit and courage in the face of suffering and death.

I visited the Island of Corregidor twice. It is located in Manila Bay. The stories of heroism and sacrifice under fire relayed by the tour guide were incredible. The medics working in blood in the Malinta tunnel and a US paratrooper dying for every metre of ground stand out in my memory. Thank you for remembering the fallen. Love from UK 🇬🇧

I've been here once. This is that one place in the Philippines that feels most American to me. It's not a touristy spot and I don't think a lot of Filipinos even know this place. Hence it's hardly crowded. The grass is maintained by some fancy sprinkler system of some sort, as that type of grass will not grow naturally on Philippine's hot weather. The maintenance budget of this place is paid for by US taxpayers, if I remember it right. It's posted on some wall in the cemetery. I moved to the US in 2018. I now live in a suburb area where lawns like this one are common. Then, I easily get to remember that cemetery.

As you can see from Wikipedia" Basketball was introduced in the Philippines during the American colonial period with the first American teachers teaching the sport along with baseball through the YMCA and the school system.[1] Basketball was first introduced to the Philippine public school system by the Americans as a women's sport in 1910 and was played in Interscholastic meets from 1911 until 1913." But during my Dad's time, Baseball was the number 1 sport in the Philippines. Even Babe Ruth visited the Philippines during the 30s to play some exhibition games.

It reveals to all that Freedom is not Free! Freedom has a price. Today, our players are free to play and participate to this beautiful events. To make a sport, people need to be free. Then, while playing, we also need to have in mind the sacrifice of those who did help to be free. IV. Yes! this initiative brings awareness about the concept of SPORT DIPLOMACY. Yes! there's no need to put enough pressure on the shoulder of our players. Yes! they need to have fun while playing. However, they need to know that they represent the MOST POWERFUL NATION ON EARTH WHERE GOD IS NOT ASHAMED TO BE CALLED GOD! This belief will always provide to them the additional resource they might need after giving everything they've in their body. Keep going Team USA!

Most people dont know that in every war that the US fought, Philippines was with them side by side. WW2, vietnam, iraq, afghanistan, korea etc. Even for a 3rd world country, PH was a helping hand.

It doesn't matter who is the true allies & enemy of our country Philippines right now . I don't want to bring back the past because that was a long time ago & it happens already . The important is today , tomorrow & till the end . I don't care about the past the countries we adopted when they came here . Like Russian & Vietnam . What we need right now is peace on earth . We don't like enemies . Like what our President said b4 . Friends to all , enemies to none . The only reason why we get mad in China because they claim our territories which belong to us . We Filipinos are hoping so much that nations to nations have a better communications , better understanding , peace & love each everyone of us . We live in the same world & this our home . Some reasons why every nation fighting each other because of pride , greed & power . But if we put in mind we are the one who destroy the world . Let's love each other, understand each other . This is the only thing that God wants us to do . Trust in God & in Jesus Christ is the only way to save our world . All things on earth is nothing even if you are the most powerful person on earth . Time will come , people will nail & ask forgiveness to the true King . 🇵🇭☀️⭐⭐⭐🙏❤️

Our oldest and perhaps longest standing ally.. The United States of America.Though Philippines should not be in WW2 but because of being a colony of USA that time then that war is inevitable for us.Hoping this alliance will keep on getting stronger.

It will give the american people a sense of history during world war 2 where thousands of filipino & american soldiers were made to suffer & die by the japanese imperial army by walking so many miles where the infamous "death march" written in our history books in school tells us that even if it happened long ago visiting the graveyard cemetery still holds the memories of those turbulent times committed by the atrocities of war. 🌞🌹🌈
