My big knock on this show is they do a bad job of explaining that often the ingredients are more similar than implied. The US labeling requirements are stricter, so they bundle ingredients less and elaborate more.

What nobody ever talks about is how in the US fast food cups are filled mostly with ice. Yes the cups are way bigger, but when you remove the ice the amount of soda is basically the same

Former wendys worker here. There’s actually 5 drink sizes at American wendys. Large, medium, and small (for the meals, or biggie bag). Value or junior depending on what you call it (for the 4 for 4). And lastly the kids size (for the kids meals) it’s the little white cup used for small frosties.

When Harry and Joe share a meal, Carbs, fats, calorie counts they reveal. They taste, analyze Sugar, salt, portion size. In horror, both Yanks and Brits squeal!

True but I think they meant a nationwide/ widely available restaurant chain. Like you can go anywhere in the country and find like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King etc but there’s restaurant chains that are unique to certain regions/states like in-n-out, whataburger, etc

Wendy's also do region exclusives. Where I live we have the Carolina Classic, which is a quarter-pound burger with chili, diced onions, mustard, and coleslaw.

Considering there’s only 1 Wendy’s in the UK and it’s in Reading and the UK Insider Inc. Headquarters is in Shoreditch it would’ve been over an hour drive to bring it back to the offices to film. I'm in the UK and had a Frosty today and it’s just like the ones in the US. It had definitely melted by the time they started filming

Well not really. The frosty is supposed to be like soft-serve ice scream, not milk.

When at I worked at Wendy’s in the US in high school the taco salad came with chili. If it was served for dine in the chili was poured on the salad before serving it to the customer. If it was to go it got served in the small cup.

the taco salad isn't just that container with lettuce/cheese... it comes with tortilla chips and a cup of chili and salsa and sour cream on the side. it's practically like two meals.

I suggest you do Cinnabon,they have recently expanded to the UK and are in EG petrol stations

Only just found this channel 2 days ago and iv already binge watched the food wars play list, can't wait to see more fast food chemistry 😁 absolutely love Harry and Joe's reactions, and it's always nice to learn what's going into our food.... I say while stuffing my face with a stacks burger 🤤

Considering the price tag of Wendy's and the fact that there are only a few locations, I'm not feeling left out not having this.

I appreciate the dual screen comparison on the frosty’s-it was nice not having to try to remember what the differences were so I hope this becomes a regular thing

It is notoriously difficult to portion a soft serve ice cream to it's full capacity. The swirl of the machine often creates air gaps and it's difficult to stop the dispense at the right time

Seems kinda unreasonable to whine about sodium nitrate, I mean that's pretty much used in all meat curing.

I don't eat much fast food anymore but since I am from the same hometown as Wendy's they were our go-to place as a kid in the 70s and 80s. When you said "something called hot chili seasoning" it immediately took me back to childhood. Of course back then their menu was much smaller, but when we got chili we always got those packets of hot sauce to go with it. I'd sneak an extra one or 2 to put on a burger if I could. Wendy's might have been the first fast food place to have a sauce other than ketchup, now that I think of it.

binged watched all the other episodes waiting for a new episode. LOVE THIS SERIE

5:49 hes right... little order I learned with the 4 for 4 to kinda get the most out of it, get your 4 for 4 and then ask to upgrade only the drink to a medium frosty and get an extra 4 piece nuggets and its $6 even One of my go to broke boy lunches in college next to Little Cesar's, you can sub the fries out for chili too

I'm pretty excited for the plans to bring Wendy's to the UK. Those burgers look like a serious contender for my new regular fast food place but I'll have to see.

For any one wondering the us have larger cups and sizes to account for ice in the drinks

Hoping the UK menu might get larger with the more branches they open here. Lucky enough to live localish to the first one that opened recently and have had a few items from the menu but wouldn't mind trying a few of those US only menu items. Would really like to try those breakfast biscuits.

This actually made me want to go to Wendy's again, so I looked at their menu and saw some really good specials. Now I haven't went there in over a year since the last 4 times I went before that they didn't have the specials at my local one (this was even before Covid) and when I went in again today, they were out of the specials. I give up. This was a good store locally until a new franchise owner took over about 4 years ago in my area and since then they never have the specials.

Baconator comes in two sizes in the UK. You can get the triple if you ask. As I was told when I was in the Wendy's in Croydon.

wendy's US also has the 50 piece chicken nuggets for $12.99 in select locations!

I assume you went to the Reading one in the UK? I went to the Stratford one when it opened this weekend and they offered to triple my Baconator, so they do offer different sizes on it, although that wasn't printed on the menu

Their asiago chicken sandwich is my favorite fast food item ever. Also, Sonic and A&W also have chili. If they have Sonics in the UK you guys should totally do them

I used to order Dave's triple in combo. The fresh ground beef is really tasty. Best beef hamburger in a fast food restaurant.

Wendy’s is my favorite fast food by far. Where I am it looks way better!

Now that Wendy’s came back to UK after 20 years, I’m excited to finally try it. Too bad still didn’t arrived in North West but I will wait !

I don't know why I like watching food related videos, especially the time I always watch them which is always late at night. They always leave me very hungry after watching and I don't like it. But at the same time I find this very interesting and informative. ( at the time I am watching this it is 2 am and there is no food in the house other than cinnamon toast crunch and I already had 2 bowls an hour ago and I can't bear to eat another) If someone can relate to my dilemma please tell me how you put up with this, and mabye send me a large bag of takis or doritos so I can deal with this problem.

Yeah the 4 for 4 is great, I used to build essentially the same thing, with an extra order of nuggets instead of fries, and a medium frosty instead of the drink, but it's cheaper now to just get the doublestack 4 for 4 and add a frosty. The doublestack, iirc, is the best value you can get on the 4 for 4, but I could be wrong. I get way more and better tasting food for $6 than I can get at mcdonalds these days (looking at you, $11 for a Big Mac meal).

Hi I work at Wendy’s and in America our chili also has a family size as well as a family nugget. And baconator also can be single or triple we just advertise it😌

The taco salad "meat" is actually a side of chili, then you also get a bag of nacho chips. Before the nacho chips, you'd actually get a baked potato.

Uh. Nuggets also come in a 50 count in the US. Canada made a secret menu burger called the t-rex burger which was 9 large patties plus toppings. And there are more than 3 soft drink sizes in the US. Kids 10 or 12oz, Value/Senior 16oz, Small 20oz, Med 32oz, Large 40oz.

in canada it was a thing to be able to ask for the grand slam, which was 4 patties. niagara region specifically.

Yeahhhhhhh, I'm soooooooooo happy that Wendy's has come back to the UK! They were here for a very long time from the mid 80's till 2000. Then closed up to concentrate on the US/Canadian Market which was such shame! So the only ever times would have one would be when went to US/Canada on holiday!

I love Wendy's. I don't eat much anymore, due to the expense. But when i want a hamburger and fries. Wendy's is the only place i'll go. I can honestly say, i've never had a bad meal there. The burgers are the best. You feel that you've eaten a substantial one, too. And in the winter, i love their chili and/or the baked potatoes. A+ all around.

I love how the UK large frosty didn't even come close to 20 ounces.

We’ve got a Wendy’s in my town now, but on the breakfast menu, they only do filled muffins and croissants, I really want to try the biscuits but it seems like an America only food. Also, the second two salads off the American menu look really nice (the apple and strawberry ones). I enjoy fruit in salads

I worked at Wendy's in Canada for 5 years, more than 20 years ago, before triple burgers were officially on the menu, and the "meat cube" was referred to as "Grand Slam"(I'm assuming referencing baseball).

There's also a "secret menu" burger that used to be on the menu in the states. It's called a Cheesy Cheddar Burger. It's a single beef patty with a single slice of american cheese and cheddar cheese sauce.

It sucks that Wendy's doesn't have the Bacon Mushroom Melt anymore. One of the best burgers ever!
