    Five Guys doesn't actually give you "extra" fries. They give you a specific portion that they've calculated into the price. They place them into the bag and let you perceive that as "extra" as part of their brand.

    Yeah kinda true. I work at fives guys in the UK and in the training they talk about being very generous with fries ouside the cup but 90% of the time just depends on how many fries are cooked and how many orders there are. Also top tip: if you "forget" to order fries online and go to pick it up (at least where I'm working) they will just give you them for free

    Also, as an employee of Five Guys, in one of the training videos the employee asked a group of people if they wanted their fries refilled and did so free of charge. Not sure if that's ever been done properly but it's made me wonder

    Lol I’m a five guys worker in America and we profit a lot on or fries and drinks so they dont care about giving you a lot of fries because either way we make a profit off of them. It all depends on who works and how many fries were dropped but the company itself doesn’t care if we put 3 large fry worth of fries for a small because we still made a profit

    One of the cooks at Five Guys rotates from store to story near my home in New Jersey. While making my order, I greeted her and told her that I recognized her from one of their other locations. I ordered small fries; she practically filled up the entire brown bag with fries! Such a lovely gesture.

    as someone who works at five guys i recommend getting a regular sized fry (in america at least) when you go. the regular and little cup sizes look quite similar and the large looks like it has a huge difference to a regular, which might make you go for the large if you want a lot of fries, but it holds just about the same amount of fries and costs a lot more. always go with the regular

  • @kylebrouwn6768

    @kylebrouwn6768

    Жыл бұрын

    As another 5 guys employee, that's not entirely true. The small and regular do basically have the same amount of fries, but the large absolutely has more fries than the reg and the small. My advice is getting a little if you're on your own, and getting just one or two larges for everyone to share if you're in a group; 1 large is about the same as 4 smalls in terms of quantity, but 1 large is only half the price of 4 smalls. With so many of the people who openly complain about the prices one of the things I often see them do is buy too many small fries, when they could've just bought 1 of the bigger sizes to share and save a lot of money.

    Should have tested this with individual orders of fries. My theory is that they fill the cup, then regardless of what you order, an extra scoop goes in the big. I'm sure it's not exactly that, but I'd put money on if you only order one fry, you'll get closer to the correct amount.

    For the fries, it’s 2 extra scoops per one overall order. So since your order consisted of 3 orders of fries in one order, you only got the two scoops. The better way to measure is to measure all the extra fries with each cup of fries or have 3 separate orders and not one massive order.

    The hotdog is sliced like that is because is to cook evenly, prevent it rolling and fall of the bun and create a condiment mess on container, and is to have even meat distribution on hot dog buns per bite. And the potato/fries weight part, I assume the fries is weighed before fried, which means maybe 30-40% of potato weigh is lost because of internal water content from frying.

    I noticed y'all complaining about the cost of the burgers/cheese burgers, but I didn't hear any mention of the 20 or so free toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onion, mayo, mustard, catsup, relish, hot sauce, bell peppers, jalapeño pepper, A. 1.sauce, and if you want you can order your burger with bacon an then add any or all of the freebie toppings. Same goes for the dogs. There's also BLTs with the add on toppings.

    Is Five Guys overpriced? Yes but are we still gonna buy their food? Yup because no matter the prices, we will find ourselves still crawling back. Their shakes and peanuts are pretty good. And yes, they have the peanuts there as something to keep the customers occupied as you wait for your food. They don't want customers to stare into the kitchen

    cool little fact ab refined peanut oil. its typically safe for those with allergies to consume. Source "highly refined peanut oil is not considered an allergen by FDA. This is because the peanut proteins are taken out during processing. So, you can be allergic to peanuts but not highly refined peanut oil."

    but it's not really even "extra," because it's the amount that should've been in the portion to begin with. so it's not that you're missing out on extra fries when you get more than one size, but actually having fries deducted from the portion.
