We're not measuring dicks here. We're not telling the story of people who "don't exist". Take it for what it is, and appreciate the bravery and heroism of the people that work regular jobs, but are available at a moments notice to do the unimaginable, that even they didn't think they could do.

Wow - hard to find the right words after this story. Much respect and care - grateful this crew made it home.
Having worked at Depot on the MH-53J PAVELOWS and AFSOC C-130's, I made sure I gave at least 110% on what I was working on knowing that guys who flew on these aircraft were counting on me to do the job right so that they ALL would come home to their Families and Friends. The best thing that happened to me was when I met a PAVELOW Pilot who shook my hand and said "Thank You" for giving us the BEST helicopter you gave us. I am "Retired" now, but should the time comes and if asked to do it again, "Give me some Tools, a Job Guide, and LET'S GET TO WORK"... PAVELOW LEADS, SO OTHERS MAY LIVE...

Generally, I can't think of any service member, from any branch, that would hesitate receiving assistance from USAF PJ's. They receive the best training from multiple branches, including HALO jumps, Seal dive training, etc. The various branches, especially within SOCOM, successfully work together every day. My US Army, instruments instructor pilot was a retired USAF, MH53 Pave Low pilot specializing in Seal incursions and extractions. It's been my service experience that the inter-branch rivalry narrative is portrayed way bigger than it really is. Sure, there is always some but, the reality isn't like a bar scene in an old WW2 movie.

The highest respects to all on this mission first off. “Spanky” sir as a helo guy, I can only imagine holding hover in a brown out in the tightest critical pinnacle terrain scenario, not to mention the drop off and the responsibility of it all in your hands, brother you get the “flying cross”!!! When AfghanistanAmerica thing is mentioned I get memories of the four commandos who had a bloody contact with mountain tigers goons deep in the unforgiving terrain of Afghanistan but one survived.
