Billie Flynn the lead Test pilot and a fellow Canuck flew all models of the F35, he said he would take the C anyday over the others because of the added lift from the larger wings on the C model.

That's an extremely interesting tidbit! I woulda thought the increased "G" tolerance of the "A" model would be preferred.

@@grimblegromblethegnome The big reason the C can't pull as many Gs like most Navy aircraft is to not over stress the folding wing mechanism. So they software limit it to 7.5g. If it was a solid wing it could pull 9Gs like the A version.

I’ve been realizing more and more how much I like the look of the f-35C. The larger wings just make it look so much more aerodynamic and beautiful

Love the jet, and thanks to those that pointed out it is the C variant. It’s also nice to see another branch of the military up there competing with Beowulf.

Hold on a moment..Huntington Beach is Surf City not Fighter Town USA.....that's San Diego. Lived there for 35 years and never had that awesome experience. Only choppers from El Torro. Dafydd are you going to Luke AFB in AZ anytime soon? Nice seeing computerized operation of the control surfaces in the nose up position.

The C demo is the worst of the bunch. Check the USAF F-35A demo and then the RAAF F-35A demo. The USMC F-35B demo is also better than the C, but it borrows a lot from the A demo.

Just wondering if test pilots like these have been studied by psychologists & neuroscientists to see whether their vestibular system, proprioception, and balance (static & dynamic) operate differently from those in us earthbound slugs 🤔

Quite sure they are, hence the selectivity within the services. The Air Force tends to be the most difficult service to get into regardless of occupation(MOS) and especially for pilots.

Sorry, I find it kinda boring compared to those Raptor demos. Go watch the F22 from the recent 2023 NAS Oceana airshow from a couple weeks ago where the Raptor pilot says......."Yeah.....watch this"!!!!!

The Belgium air forces F16 puts this to shame.about 35 years difference between them.nice filming though dafydd

That's not exactly accurate. Pretty much every red flag exercise involving the f-16 or some other jet getting shots off at a Lightning were a result of limiting factors that have advantage to the vipers. There's a reason the Belgians are replacing their vipers with f35s.
