Jimmy Williams I've read before that this is why in the SAS selection the instructors don't say anything to encourage or discourage the troops. They just tell them what needs to be done. In his book Can't Hurt Me (amazing book btw), David Goggins talks about how he turned the aggression of one of the SEAL instructors against himself and "took his soul". Broke the instructors spirit by showing him he can't be broken.

When I took this test, in 1987, we had to do it all in full uniform, including boots. The requirements were a bit different too. The pull up minimum was 12. And all activities were completed without breaks in between. Meaning, it was an immediate transition from one demonstration to the next. They gave you three attempts to successfully complete the PST. I took it twice. The first time through I passed everything but the run. I was six seconds too slow and it devastated me. But I came back 1 week after that and successfully completed it all. I remember vomiting all throughout the run. I took the test at Boot camp in Orlando in the dead of summer and the temperature was close to 100 degrees that day. Oh yeah, it was also a Sunday. I remember because that was graduation day for some recruits and I remember the parade field (aka the Grinder) was full of families. My run was around the Grinder and I remember people watching me as I ran by, vomiting all the way. Lol, good times.

I was a Navy SAR swimmer and have to say I’m impressed he muscled his way though with that swim with how much drag he had. Once he gets the side stoke more streamlined he would easily make it. Also, he’s a muscular guy, that’s a lot of weight/density in the water. You would be surprised to see how many of the special forces guys are not as muscular, a lot more lean muscle. Also, would be cool if you told the viewers the height and weight each time.

@@BK-uy9nj those were the numbers for me, im a rescue swimmer. I know the difference. If you are going for any special operation program, your numbers are expected to be even better, you will also need to condition your body to sustain intense training for prolonged times. Also, if you join the Navy under a special program, your boot camp will NOT be the same as regular people, you will be in 800 division and it’s completely different than regular bootcamp, 800 division has to train wayyyy more than regular divisions. Also, if you join the SO, SWCC or EOD program, you better be training many many months in advance before even committing to going to bootcamp, cause honestly it is not that hard but once you graduate a move on to BUDS, you will find out real quick what does “Get Sandy” means.

COMPARE THESE TWO ARGUMENTS "Islam endorses war (jihad) to impose its law (Sharia) across the world. Therefore Islam approves killing people across the world. Muslims are dangerous - your Muslim neighbor literally wants to knife your little daughter and then blow up the local McDonalds." "Liberalism endorses war (e.g., colonialism, humanitarian intervention, military occupation) to impose its law (international human rights law) across the world. Therefore liberalism approves killing people across the world. Liberals are dangerous - your liberal neighbor literally wants to knife your little daughter and then blow up the local mosque." Why do so many idiots find the first argument logical and compelling, while they find the second argument illogical and absurd? Aren't both arguments illogical and absurd? Do you want to know why the US is broke and subject to an increasingly totalitarian surveillance regime? It is because the American people allowed themselves to be duped by absurd arguments into endorsing the "Global War on Terrorism" - spending 8 trillion dollars and agreeing to give the government unlimited surveillance/policing powers in the name of "fighting terrorism/extremism" as characterized by the first argument above.Ashe ba dalili bane Alkali yayi zalunci don wai akwai pressure akan sa.

It's not as hard as they're making it out to be. I didn't even make the weight standards and did this when I joined the Navy to see if I could. His lack of experience with trying some of these shows cuz he's in WAY better shape than I was. His swimming needs alot of work(more than he talks about. His line wasn't straight and his breathing was terrible), but I grew up at the community pool so swimming is much easier for me. His situps are bad. There's a trick to doing them better by locking your thumbs in your shirt collar and pointing your elbows. He's a fvcking beast on that pullup bar tho. I got 11 and that felt like death.

The real answer is that it's a specific type of swimming stroke called ''combat sidestroke'' or css for short, and from the video, it was definitely said that it was his first time doing it. From looking at some videos on what a combat side stroke looks like. It is definitely not something you just do on your first try without practicing. Give this guy like a week of training and I bet he can shave off 4 mins easily. (edited the name of the stroke because it was wrong of me to just call it a ''combat stroke'', so I changed it to ''combat sidestroke'' but people also call it ''combat swimmer stroke'' or css for short .)

@Tai Lopez the combat stroke does make less noise and a lot less commotion in the water when done properly. In the field you'll always have at least a mask, snorkel, and fins, even as a rescue swimmer. Once you're actually in dive school you'll always be swimming with fins and other gear in open water. You'll get a lot of practice with fins in a very short time but for the measurement tests in the pool, in EOD in the late 90's at least, you can use whatever stroke you're best at.

The ocean though where the seals would actually be at during combat mostly on night missions would be pretty damn cold. So it’s ideal training conditions for the water to be cold. The seals don’t do a whole lot of wet work in the Caribbean in that nice warm water lol.
