Or lose their corporate charters for being bad corporate citizens.
I think the reason why the Democrats don’t have a problem with it is because they have their own corporations to also be allowed to vote with their CEOs, which should be considered as two votes, not just one. Which should be considered illegal.
In the Delaware area, the non-resident, out of state corporations could vote for zero property taxes, and all taxes to be raised by sales taxes. Sales taxes are paid by real, local people, not the out-of-state corporations. This is insane merely as a concept, in addition to being obviously unconstitutional.
So can corporations go to prison now? Asking for a friend :)
This is straight out of some dystopian novel, right?
It's amazing how many entities are tearing away at the Democratic process and nothing is being done about it. Voting rights, Worker's rights, Education, etc. Full-scale attacks at freedom and democracy but suddenly neither party is really doing much to defend the needs of citizens almost like neither of them actually cared about the public to begin with.
There's no required way to verify who the CEO of a corporation is by the public in the state that I live in, I wonder how it is in Delaware. One person can create multiple LLCs. This law should be illegal.

It started with Reagan, then Clinton, Bush, Obama - All overtly corporate figureheads.
If corporations can vote, do they have to show ID? How do they get an ID? What birth certificate do they have? Are they citizens? Citizens are either born here, or naturalized. What papers do they have? If they don't have to show those things, then all voter ID laws are suspect, because there are two standards, and the one for real people is the more restrictive. And the work-around for one person voting as several corporations, well, it doesn't take much imagination to predict holding companies, and hidden ownership stakes, and all kinds of semi-legal bull that they will try, which just jams up the courts, and makes a bunch of lawyers more money.
One person, one vote. A corporation is not a person.
“What do 68% of Fortune 500 companies and 93% of all U.S.-based initial public offerings have in common? They’re all registered in Delaware. In 2020, Delaware saw an additional 250,000 new businesses register in the state, pushing the total number of businesses to over 1.6 million. Delaware has become internationally recognized as a corporate paradise and is “home” to such famous firms as Amazon, Google, Tesla, Walmart, American Express and Disney, to name just a few. As the second smallest state (by size), and one of the least populous, it may seem odd that Delaware became the business mecca it is today, but since the early 1900s, the state has been incentivizing businesses to stay with lenient tax policies, reduced restrictions and simplified corporate laws. The key benefits to incorporating in Delaware are tax benefits, privacy, expediency, simplified structure and the corporation court.” -Forbes Advisor
