The 20 years that I did drugs, hard drugs if I had just been able to smoke pot legally and they helped out with mental oil Care, which I had to move to California to get because I live on East Coast and all of them east from Virginia down to Florida and Kentucky and Ohio and Indiana and Illinois. I’ve been all of them, if they had just let me smoke pot and gave me mental healthcare, I would’ve been sober. I’ve been sober now almost 10 years because I moved to California and got mental healthcare which they provide to everybody and got housing which they basically provide to everybody, unless the people don’t go through the bureaucracy to get it, make you jump through hoops but they’ll help anyone that needs help in California and that’s what they need to do everywhere they need to make the medical system and the insurance all national they need to nationalize all the gas and oil companies and put all of that into housing the homeless that would solve a lot of problemsbecause Housing somebody will get somebody sober and California does that also so yeah insightful comment

Conservatives are often involved in "trades" and from my experience that is one of the scammiest businesses there is. I've had guys give estimates for the same job that ranged all the way from $22,000 to $1500. You can guess which one I went with , the 1500 bid was a Mexican guy who gets 100% of my business now. Recently had a tree limb fall and damage the roof again. White guy contractor : "looks like maybe 3000 in damage but let's wait for the insurance company" - he literally wanted to see how much they gave me before he gave a bid!!! I call my guy up "$1500" he had a crew of 6 men over there within 2 days and they had everything down in a little over 2 hours. That's why they don't like regulations, they are sketchy and scammy in their own businesses.

Prop 47 isn't perfect, and Gavin bears some responsibility for fixing it. But this video is pretty misleading. If Prop 47 caused homicides, we would have seen homicides increase after its passage. Instead, they consistently decreased from 2014 until a large (likely covid related) spike in 2020, and have been generally trending back down since that spike. Same with robberies. Yes, let's fix Prop 47. But TYT be honest about what problems it caused vs which it pretty clearly didn't. Cherry picking stats and trying to claim association to Prop 47 is dishonest...

Drug courts DO work. Many counties in WA state use it.

At some point in time, we truly have to get to a place where we realize that Trump is the freaking worst thing that can happen to the US and that rallying around someone else we believe can beat him is better than just trashing the alternatives. For many reasons, I think Newsom is probably the best shot at this point. The country seems to want someone it views as tough, and I dare say, white. He's that. And yes, I'm black. Y'all can do better the next time around. But what you need to do now is defeat Trump. Everything else is a distant second in my book.

Everything sounds better on paper, it's a lesson in politics everyone should be taking a bit of a learning experience from. Admitting you were wrong is also a lot better than refusing to accept you made a mistake.

Where's the summary of evidence that the reduction in court appearances is tied to a piece of legislation AS OPPPOSED to the type of offenses that were seen during high participation? You mention increased use of fentanyl, but maybe the court isn't seeing marijuana offenses because it's been legalized meaning less cases. Maybe covid had an impact. And I'lll say this.... if you have to coerce someone with an addiction to seek treatment, the chances of success aren't all that great. Participation does not mean the program was successful.

He would actually look stronger if he simply said this oart worked and this oart didn’t. And then trully work on fixing what doesnt work. Don't leaders realize that most regular folk will be like man this guy told me the truth, said what he did wrong that I agree with and lets change this area we all agree on

Newsome needs to be impeached as governor of California

A good governor would come out and say, "We thought this would work, obviously somdid younas you all voted for it while I supported it. It hasn't turned out the way we expected, so before I leave office, let's change it, fix it, and get our state on the right track." That would win over far more voters and keep the blue voters voting blue. But corporate politicians are not interested in helping the people, only the corporations.

We are being nickel and dimmed to death in CA. I’ve lived in the state over 30 years and it’s never been worse. Should we talk about the yearly unexplained tax hikes(but are always desperately needed), water & gas rate increases, highest gas taxes and gas prices in the country, some of the highest car insurance rates, some of the highest housing prices and highest property taxes in the country, not to mention stagnant wages, oh and CA has the the highest number of homeless/unhoused individuals. We have the highest supposed GDP per state and yet have been constantly in debt. Newsom is just another greedy and corrupt career politician. Remember when he was having lavish dinners during covid? What a joke.

When he’s president next year our whole country will look like this.

Well the thumbnail could have been better , I think the point they are making is that the position Newsom is taking on prop47 is politically motivated and they are trying to expose that .

In the debate neither Biden nor Trump gave ANY sort of answer for the question about addiction support.

Another example of why democrats are much better than the other side. Come up with ideas that sound good but ignore possible repercussions as “right wing talk points”
