Hi, I'm in need of upgrading my trailer arch. I currently have U channels welded to side of arch but that limits me to loading only. What is the grade/thickness of your tubes? I pick up pretty Large logs so I'd fear bending the support tubes if not thick walled enough. Can you move the end of support tubes on trailer? Thanks for your help.

Nice job and interesting thought on the side braces. Im wondering why the arch was mounted so far forward? I think it might have to be farther back when fully out. I guess time will tell. Good luck. I like the thought process. Yes Harbor Freight does have an 18K winch but you have to order it. I did the same thing you did, then went back and watched his video again and heard him say that. The first log I loaded weighed 7000 lb or so. I cant believe I did that but we got it on there.

I have since loaded and unloaded many quite large logs. One was about 38 in. Dia. And 14 foot long and 38 was the small end. I had to use another snatch block for double line pull. I'd hate to guess what that green white oak weighed. Sold it to a mill and their picker had trouble lifting it. I mounted the pivot so far forward because I use it to stack logs on the trailer so it can reach further forward and still be upright or be at the back. It normally just stays in the rearward position. One day i will replace the poles with hydraulic rams. Also was tempted to take the dovetail off. But instead since I'd rather be able to load 20 foot long logs i left it on. And just over slung the axles for more ground clearance. So far this thing has cleaned up quite a few storm cleanup jobs just as soon as I got it done I had people calling. I haven't had time to edit much video yet. If I had placed the pivot further back the poles would have mounted in between the wheels which would have been inconvenient.
